Thank you all for watching! The Audio-Technica AT4040 is a clean and clear sounding microphone. For more details about it, check it out here: sweetwater.sjv.io/bak3K6
hey i have this mic but im thinking about getting the agk p420 which one you think is better for rap vocals i like the at4040 but it dont have that natural tone like i prefer in mics its good but i feel it lacks that natural tone in the voice
My college was the first time I actually used microphones through its radio and television programs. The TV side, which is what I was in, had Blue Yeti mics, so that was the first microphone experience I had. When I got one too I liked it until I found the AT2020 which I fell in love instantly. Eventually I got up to the AT4040 and fell in love instantly once again. I got the Shure SM7B almost a year ago, because everyone in the world was talking about how amazing it is, but switched back to the AT4040 again recently because this captures my voice a lot better, and is overall a better experience for me
For my voice, definitely the Telefunken ELA M 251. AKG designed and manufactured this mic back in the day, and it’s brightness, smoothness, and warm body makes thin voices like mine sound larger than life. For a little less, an AEA 44, or a reissue Neumann M49. Right now I’m getting great results with a stereo pair of AKG C414XL II mics, and I plan on adding pairs of the 4050 and 4051 as additional instrument mics.
@@MattPicsET first of all thank you so much for replying 🙏. And I had to check out your stuff to hear the sound, maaan you got some good stuff 🔥. I mainly have done rap but I’ve always been big on singing r&b when I was younger. I’ve made a few songs recently that are more a singing vibe and I love it man it’s more fun than rap or hip hop (no shade I’m just over that shit lol). My first legit xlr mic was an akg c214 and I come from the blue tooth mics so that was an upgrade. But now I’m to the point where I noticed I gotta upgrade my mic. My first idea was to get the c214 and then upgrade to the c414. But now with the current times I wana know what is out now that blows the 414 out. Back then all I would hear about is the akg c214 and the 414 but once I got mine I stopped following the new techs on mics. So I’m looking to grab another mic I’ll be able to rock for a long ass time. Also I might upgrade my reflection shield to that sphere one as well
@@MattPicsET holy shit that telefunken Ela m251 is such a master piece. That’s one of those mics I’m going to open another trading account to invest for 😂. i bet bro hey only get better and better and more 💰
Great Video!!!! This mic is in my mic cabinet. I only have six mics but they cover all the bases. (AKG C414XLII; Shure Sm7b; Shure SM57; Sennheiser E609; MXL Ribbon Mic). The AT4040 and the Shure Sm7b are the mics are the go to for everyday use for myself. But when I’m recording singers, I use the SM57 and C414 the most.
I have one here and it is a real sleeper mic, way underestimated. I tend to use more my tlm103, but when I need to double some tracks and do some backing vocals, i use this one. I dont like to use only one mic and accentuate all the same frequencies in all my vocal tracks. I ditched my tlm 103 and telefunken ak47 on certain voices for this one
I have the AT2020 for some time now and it still sounds good looking at all the new boys in town and I got to say im looking at the AT4040 as I know what they can do with the voice plus I am so used to the AT series
I have the AT2020 and used it for years and I have never had any complaints. Yes you have to eq it but it has the necessaries to get it right. I have looked for other Mics but I think I will stick to At series.
I liked it so but didn’t fit my kinda voice. Otherwise it’s a great mic specially the way it easily cutting through a mix .. and the fact that’s a large diaphragm condenser you get a spacey image of the recording like if you add since the start an ambiance verb to it. Not suited for harsh voices..

I use the at4050. The clarity is amazing and it’s a more natural and transparent microphone
Own mine since 2008 still works wonders
Not kidding about the shock mount! It is hefty!
The Audio Technica AT4050 and 4051 are among my favorite budget options, the 4040 is basically the fixed-cardioid version, and they all sound stellar!
If you didn’t have to worry about money which mic would you go with?

at 4050 budget? you must be high
That‘s why you‘re the GOAT Archie! 🐐 Been using this mic for a while and I’m loving it! Never understood why it‘s so slept on, it’s a beast!
The production quality of your videos is actually amazing. You deserve way more views and subscribers!
I really appreciate these words. In due time brother. Thanks man.
@@archiebeatz No problem brother!💪
I used it for hip hop vocals and very good for that clear pop-level bright hip hop vocal while maintaining smoothness

Just bought the TLM 103 today after using the L22 emulation.
@@thaexception3406can I use l22 emulation on my mic without owning townslend mic?
Audio Technica is a good company. You can't go wrong with that mic.

I love to see how you setup at4040 for recording and post production to get the best of at4040 :D
If this mic's super sensitive, would you still recommend it for an un-treated room? And would you pick the AT4040 over the NT1 in this regard?
Hi, Can you tell me names of Engineers and technicians use AT4040 microphone? Salutes from Argentina
I had this mic for over 15 years. its even better than the new sony c 80
what does make you say that ? did you try a c-80 ?
Bro can you start recording sample songs, just a few lines with and without effects.
But the question is , is it goin to take the Neuman U87 place in your studio ? 😂😂
It is a beast and it will compete with the Neumann tlm103
AT2035 it’s good 👍
What are you filming with?
How did u get it to have less sibilance I have a Aston halo a nice pop filter but I still get sibilance when I’m up on it a lil bit
What popfilter do u use in this video?
AT2035 and Roswell Mini K47
Is this mic better than the LA 320?
That piano part though...

BLUE BABY BOTTLE AN THE RODE NT1 4TH GEN
No this better
This can be easily labeled as the most useless review. Especially coming from a someone who has a studio.
It sounds too bright
Too many plosives 😢
Don't sound good.
Thats one of the mics my engineer uses
