  • In this lesson we learn the Foxhunters Reel in DADGAD guitar tuning.
    I have Fiachra Hayes playing fiddle and we play the tune at three different speeds for ease of learning.
    If you have any questions I'm happy to help. Just let me know in the comments.

    Great tune. Love playing it at a session. Great one to end a set with.
    Could you play a set with jigs and reels interchanging throughout the set or would it be proper just to stick to reels or jigs on their own in a set. Just asking on terms of tempo changes.

      Hi Daniel, ya that's a good idea. I'll try make a video that practices changing from jigs to reels. You wouldn't see it happening in sessions too often ,but I do it with the band quite a bit. It works great for sets that are nicely arranged. 👍

    Do you often come across this tune in G? That's how I heard it first

    • @aodancoynemusic
      @aodancoynemusic  7 месяцев назад +1

      Ya the the melody players I play with mostly play it in the key of G. But either G or A works nice. On the session.org it seems to be be a mix between G & A, and there's a big discussion on that in the comments section also - thesession.org/tunes/511

      @@aodancoynemusic I can't believe you actually took the time to check out my music. That's some next level audience interaction you've got going there! Anyway your channel is great and I'm constantly linking it to people. I also have half your videos open in tabs with the intention of coming back to them again. Thanks Aodan

      Hi Jacques, great tune! I'll add it onto my to-do list. I won't get it done in time for your birthday, but here's Paul Meehan playing it in DADGAD tuning with Liz Carrol - ruclips.net/video/D4fT5V14uns/видео.html Enjoy!

      Hi, I mainly teach Traditional Irish music accompaniment, but I have created some DADGAD tabs and sheet music for some of my favorite Irish tunes. They are all played at three different speeds so it's easier to learn. Here's the link - ruclips.net/p/PLXeKkuE-o2H1vmJZ2oojpHpfv0wJsPPJr I might get around to teaching them at some point! I hope the videos come in handy.
