As a hardcore A7X fan having like 120 songs liked on Spotify it is very hard to just name 1 song, Higher, Angels, Sunny Disposition, The Stage, Remenissions, Unbound (The Wild Ride) described as a acid trip in Disneyland, Blinded in Chains, Betrayed, Burn it down, Until the end, Tonight the world dies, the list goes on and on. The Stage album is such a masterpiece all the way through, instruments, singing and lyrics.

I won't see you tonight part 1 and 2 is a hard hitter from the kid days, but I'd say every album has atleast 3 songs worth exploring and checking out to see the rough ideas of how differently and originally approached Metalcore for their era.
Blinded in Chains, God Hates Us, Save Me, The Stage... Their chemistry for making hits as a band is wild.

I hope you two will get to listen to Cosmic and Life is but a dream. As Life is but a dream is a piano instrumental it would be fun to hear Judson talk about it and it also feels rare for a metal album.

Woah, a nice surprise. You told me last time you'd be doing Chapter Four and then Save Me. Did not expect this one to pop up. This album is such a beautifully depressing trip through someone's brain, a very weird experience.. When I first listened to it, it made me tear up not going to lie. It is very avant-garde, strange, beautiful, weird and a masterpiece all in one package.
It takes getting used to for many, but for some it can click right away and it is just pure magic..
Also, my recommendations for next A7X songs are: Save Me, then Sidewinder.
Again, thanks for these videos, love the discussions! Really helps with boring work days. 🤘❤

This is probably my favorite video I've seen so far that y'all did. Not necessarily because of A7X, though I am a fan, but more about the conversation after. I actually knew exactly was Judson was talking about, so his explanation made perfect sense to me. I'd like to hear more reactions to this album in particular.

Thank you guys for another special episode, a song like this (and previously mentioned) really puts things into perspective, I don't have too much history with psychedelics but I've trip-sat plently of people. Also, very cool of Judson to speak candidly about his drug-experience. It goes a long way to break age-old taboos of drug use and the judging that comes with it

A few years ago I went to a gig in London featuring avenged seven fold and disturbed. Disturbed was the first band on and we're outstanding .then came avenged seven fold .don't get me wrong the band and music are excellent but the moment he started singing and trying to work the audience I found my mind starting to drift about the journey home and work the next day so in my opinion disturbed blew them away that night but I still appreciate avenged and have some of there albums but to play them I have to be in the right frame of mind .Great reaction as always

All right. So I can't say I was shocked he liked the vocals more and again I'm dead on with you in my instant reaction. The 50-year-old language arts teacher I worked with showed me the song and the vocals absolutely struck me. I thought what the hell is this. But a month later I was listening to it on repeat. And truly I think that might be one of the best guitar solos ever composed. And the album is weird as hell and I had the same reaction to the album as a whole because it's like what the f*** is this. Queen comparison or Beatles on drugs, something along those lines but no matter how much I judge myself for letting it grow on me it did. So finally you just let go and you're like okay it's a good album. But definitely fair to acknowledge it's weird. I can appreciate the parts of them that don't want to turn the same thing out all the time, similar quality in Trivium but this is way more experimental than anything Trivium has ever done. They are my two parallels. Avenged sevenfold was my college band of choice I listen to them to and from school everyday. For whatever reason there was a fork in the road that took me away from them and towards Trivium and some stuff with harsher vocals and less poppy qualities but still this stuff is good

next time you react to avenged sevenfold since you did one on their latest album, rom that album i would suggest:
    cosmic (very beautiful song)
we love you (even more experimental song than nobody)
mattel (just solid heavy metal song)
game over (if you mixed System Of A Down and Avenged Sevenfold this is what u would get)
beautiful morning (again pretty weird song with few interesting twists)
G, Easier, Ordinary, Death. all these four songs are a lot of fun, i would leave rest to the interpretation
hope to get reactions on most of these songs because this album is another level of brave and boldness, u won't see this kind of 180 from a band that is pretty successful and could have gotten amazing numbers if they stayed in their lane of genre

If you guys relate to the lyrics of this song, learning about those two even briefly will add a lot of value.

That's the first song of theirs I've heard where I've actually been impressed by the guitar work. I know it's not all about the widdlys, but that was good widdlying.
Not done DMT, but enough magic mushrooms to understand how affecting it is to realise that you're just borrowing this matter you call yourself, which you ultimately have to give back. It sounds funny talking about it, but when you're in that place, it makes absolute sense. As you say though, the influence this can have on your life functioning within society can be very negative, so I think it's best to leave it to those intrepid souls who visit those places and report back through their art.
    Don't do drugs kids.

The fact that song specifically was probably the first time Rev showed his singing chops more clearly and composition writing as well is really cool personally, ofc he influenced all previous ones but I think that one was his idea fully, because he did have other bands where he was more of a frontman and it seemed to me like it was the guys in the band trying to pull their brother up... Since it was the last album he was alive for. Could have some info wrong, been years since I saw the documentary about thst album.
