You may already know this Dai, but the Giants of Norse mythology are known as *Jötnar* , or *Jötun* in the singular form, and in truth, all the gods of Norse mythology are in fact Jötnar, as they're born directly *from* a Jötun woman who gave birth to them with a man who was *himself* born to a Jötun woman who gave birth to him with a man carved from an ice block by the cow Auðhumlas tongue; that'd explain why all it took for Skaði to become a goddess was for her to marry one of them. Also, the gods' relationship with the Jötnar is a lot more *complicated* than the inherent animosity the Marvel Thor comics and shows depict, as the Jötnar themselves are established to have free will, and thus while some *are* enemies of the gods, some are also allies, and even *lovers* of the gods. In fact, from a very *obscure* corner of Norse mythology, there's even a Jötun *hero* named Starkkad, who'd probably make an intriguing servant in Fate: Grand Order. Sorry about that info dump; I personally find the Jötnar to be one of the more *interesting* races of Norse mythology, who're unfortunately saddled with a stereotypical image that's nowhere *near* as nuanced as the actual mythological depiction is.
@@OtakuDaiKun I just finished watching it, and it was *definitely* interesting, though I was a bit weirded out by some of your pronunciations of Norse names. With that outta the way, even though we have a Jötun servant in Scathac Skaði, I still think it'd be pretty cool if Fate: Grand Order got the obscure Jötun *hero* Starkaður for a servant; what about *you* ?
I wish the real Tamamo Vitch showed up in the Tunguska Sanctuary. I feel like Nasu is purposefully keeping her Under Wraps for later and then she'll appear in a light novel that will never get localized and then it'll be another several years before she any other servants in that light novel end up in fgo or they'll go to fgo Arcade first
@@yaboigamerdouji7573 already Taigong is already better than Merlin because he does more to help out Chaldea. Merlin clings to the explanation that doing more to help out Fujimaru would cause him to undergo a beast transformation and since Beast V is pretty much an open slot (for now) there’s some justification, but that’s an explanation not an excuse.
I knew the moment I saw him that he was going to pull something out of his sleeve. Bro having his eyes closed like Hazama caught my attention. And I wasn't left disappointed.
18:25 We only took shelter in the basically the antechamber of the Wandering Sea and established Novum Chaldea after making contact with Sion who had arranged this. For LB 1 and LB 2 we just had the Shadow Boarder. (Our whole point to brave LB 2 was to move to the location Sion had broadcast her message from.) It was only in the prelude of LB 3 that we reached the Entryway to the Wandering Sea and took shelter there in the reconstruction of the Chaldea base Sion had made.
What I don't get is why Sion was never like "by the way, the Wandering Sea becomes visible every New Year's Eve, you guys should probably be ready to evacuate." Between her clairvoyance and working relationship with WS it seems weird our escape was as rushed and sudden as it was.
I love how mutually beneficial for both parties how Koyanskaya agreed to have her Reality Marble being sealed and launched into space. It was a great business transaction.
Same, man. I feel like I *respect* FGO's story and recognize they put a lot of effort into it, but every time I try to seriously sit down and read though it I get bogged down in just how verbose everything is. I'm very grateful to have this channel to provide us the Cliff Notes version.
Thank you so much for all the time and effort you put into these videos! They've really helped me in understanding the lore, especially since I had to skip the story to catch-up to the campaign. They also helped me get into the rest of the Nasuverse such as Tsukihime and Witch on the Holy Night. More power to you guys and I pray for this channel's subs to grow further.
I still feel like the amount of love for Humanity that Koyanskaya possesses is still insufficient compared to all the other beasts we've had to deal with
Her Foxness and Her Foxhood. I am having so much fun with EXTRA EVIl CHAOS team. They are a blast and great farmers for Lady Reines. Imaginary Scramble keeps being my favorite story but Tunguska and Koyanskaya are up there as well. Van Gogh, Ashiya Douman, Taira no Kagekyo and Koyonskaya of Dark. I need an anime with all 4 of them!
Is Dai-kun gonna make a Fate lore for Koyanskaya next or eventually? I love this channel for its Fate lores, story plots of FGO, speaking out against bad localizations, and all those lessons in Nasuverse magecrafts.
Ngl, this event had a lot of plot holes with its story. Tsiah IV made a video that explans most of the problems. That ending however I was not expecting.
The most amousing aspect to come out of Tunguska was all the controversy surrounding Koyanskaya's reveal. That said, I honestly wasn't a fan of how the game constantly beat us over the head with her not being Daji. Moreover, her true identity seemed like a twist just for the sake of having a twist.
Last time I was so early people still thought Koyanskaya was one of the Tamamo 9. Last time I was so early Tai Gong Wang (a.k.a. Jiang Ziya , a.k.a. Jiang Taigong, a.k.a. Taikoubou) had not yet brought the Zhou dynasty to rule China.
I thought we were responsible for the Tunguska event i mean we kindave blueup Agartha in the general I mean oops fona and flora whas destoid in the proses
That was bc all the superbosses in the tunguksa event were real time bosses (similar to soloman) and you probably did the event too late where everyone killed ivan. Or you outright forgot it
Koyanskaya is one of the more interesting and complicated antagonists in FGO, but unfortunately, this story arc did NOT do a great job at resolving it in a satisfactory manner. It felt like she was too complicated for an "ordinary" interlude, but they didn't want to turn her into an entire lostbelt right after the massive (and incredibly good) LB6. But they needed something to separate LB6 from LB7, right? So this one ended up feeling rushed. I actually don't mind how it ended, but I would have preferred to see Koyanskaya involved and resolved in LB7. But they obviously have big plans for that one, and if Skaya was going to be resolved in a LB, it either needed to happen in LB5, or set up to sacrifice herself completely in LB6. TL; DR: They waited too long to reveal what Koyanskaya was all about, so she ended up with a bit of a lackluster resolution in this interlude.
It all gets set up in the lostbelt prologue chapter. That would be chapter XV for this series of videos. Basically a lostbelt is an alternate timeline the universe was going to discard, but is now being preserved by some means.
Ok on a different note the 2nd true magic Kaleidescope let's the user travel to parallel worlds, and I thought it was only zeldaddy. But in fgo we've seen servants from other worlds travel to different ones, like amakusa, Musashi, Dante, beast seem to manifest wherever they want and chaldea has also been to other worlds. So does that count as the 2nd magic or? Also which is stronger a dragon, God, or true ancestors/nature spirits?
Other beings in FGO seem to have abilities on par with true magic, but that doesn't mean they obtained true magic. As far as I'm aware, Dantes is mostly hopping between singularities and lostbelts which have a connection to our world. I assume true ancestors are the most powerful.
