  • Wasn't really paying too much attention to the number of Little Dandy Pistol Powder Measures that came with my 5 RCBS Green Machines / PRT. Then I noticed a couple of them were different. The body and how they attached to the powder die were not the same.
Turns out it appears, to me, there are 3 generations of the Little Dandy Pistol Powder Measure. Version 1 came with my 1981 GM. Looks like Version 2 came with my 1984 GM. If you look at RCBS' site, there is a current version of the Little Dandy Pistol Powder Measure that has the mounting type/threading of my version1, with the body style (rounded instead of hexagonal) of version 2. A Back to the Future kind of thing going on, interesting.
I'm thinking they abandoned the version 2 mounting style once the GM was discontinued and re-adopted the version 1 threading to be more universal, like every other powder measure on the market.
In any case, I stripped the original green (was rusting in spots, paint scratched off and the green was totally different from the machine) and blued my original version 1 body. Came out decent, so I now have a 1.5 Little Dandy Pistol Powder Measure body ;-)
Also picked up a nice deal on a storage solution for the Little Dandy Pistol Powder Measure Rotors. Can't find Oak at that price at my local lumber shop and this is a custom creation. Good deal, albeit a bit rough and in need of some finishing touches.

    With a small
Lathe that part can be made pretty easily

totally agreed! can’t tell you how long I’ve been considering a mini lathe. It’s not if, but when.
