  • Wanted too get out and give the FTC FreeXion a proper go in my local oak tree in the hills of Lancashire where it won't stop raining. Not had the right trees at work to really put it though its paces. Hopefully the video quality is alright as I had some slight camera mount issues as you will see. Hope you enjoy.

    nice one dude, looks good
    I guess when you take weight off the sling tether the rope straightening out stands the device up in the neutral position and it ascends neatly

      @mickarblife  3 месяца назад +2

      Ye the soft tether makes ascent a dream! 👍🏻

    MONSTER! haha love the video! is that the catalyst hitch? I'm use the knut on 11MM climb line and 10MM hitch cord. the thing will run nice and than catch out of no where and stop my decent. I know its hard to diagnose without being there but do you have any idea what I'm doing wrong?

    • @mickarblife
      @mickarblife  3 месяца назад

      Hey mate, yes I’m using the catalyst not with the device. Only thing I can say about what you have described is to maybe try a different hitch cord maybe so thing thicker to stop the hitch being a grabbie. I’m using a 11.9mm rope and a 8mm hitch cord in the vid if that helps

    Thanks for taking the time to make this. A good demonstration of this new device. Have you used the rope wrench Apex? I have had many rope wrenches and still have the original ZK1 with the floppy tether. A game changing device when it came out but the new adjustable Apex/stiff tether is next level. Can you think of any advantages that the Freexion has over the Apex? The floppy tether on this would concern/irritate me i think but im considering buying one if there is an advantage? Cheers again

      @mickarblife  3 месяца назад +1

      Ye I been climbing on the apex since it came out and thought you could not get better. I think the advantage this Freexion has is that it has a plate loaded with a spring which makes it very smooth compared to the sharper angles the apex and wrench have. I thought the soft tether was going to bother me after climbing so long with a stiff tether but I might actually prefer a soft tether now as there is zero friction on ascent and as soon as you just load the hitch and start to descend it’s fine
