I thoroughly enjoyed the vast majority of The Last Jedi, which I've seen now *twice* including this scene which I watched carefully. Not including a *removable head* to complete *the actual scene* (and the titular vehicle which appears multiple times *full and complete with head* for longer than its very brief comic relief headless form), while charging the full price of an existing stunningly beautiful and complete walker? Nope. No way I'll get behind that.

It would be cool if they added extra pieces to make the head and make it an action feature to blow it off. I think that this set is quite a shame. It could have been good.

Having a complete collapsible cabin would be nice. Friendly reminder that Lego made a ship that was in Force Awakens for about 14 frames before exploding. And that was the play feature.

They should build the real WHOLE walker and add a mechanism to pop off the head,just like the movie.They should also increase the height of that tower thing.
Maybe a smaller at-st with a small head would work with the mechanism.A big head would just be too heavy and hit the childs hand

Why couldn’t Lego just make a complete FO AT-ST and make a cool ‘explosion’ feature that pops off the head and reveals BB-8 controlling it? Then just take away the elevator and it’s as easy as that, you get the figures, and the walker and it’s a good set.

During the film when the top was about to blow off I thought there would be loads of porgs inside.That would have been a lot better

It's not everyday you see Jang so mad. When I originally saw the leaked figures I was really excited, and thought that it was going to be a playset with some exploding functions and maybe even an executioner trooper or two. As it is, what a mess.
Got this set for 50% off on amazon. Mainly bought it for the Phasma minifig, because I’m not paying $100+ for the troop transport.

I don't necessarily mind this set. It's an important scene to the movie. I really think they could have fixed everything by giving the ability to turn it into a full AT-ST instead of leaving it off like it is. There even could have been a play feature to rip off the top of it.

They seem to be doing a lot of that with the new star wars movies, maybe it is disney's secretive policy thats being detrimental to the merchandise available, for instance, the resistance troop transport, the is only a Lego version and a micro machine of it.
The difference with Kylo Ren's Shuttle is that it's still a good and solid set, even if if isnt screen accurate. THIS is literal junk.
They should have made the head, but made it so it could have the head ripped off.

why not just make a removable cockpit instead of the skeleton elevator? Wish they make an "add-on" in a poly or small box and send it to people upon request and proof that they own the set.

People, let's not give this set money. It's absurd they'd charge full price for half a walker that only occupies a minute in the movie.
I think it should have the head of the at st and a play feature that when you press a button or flick a switch that the head comes off and there's bb8 sitting there, I also think it should have came with at least 1 execution trooper and the figures that we see now. It will be a bit high on price but put what you think of my idea.
Not a button or switch, because the head would fall of A LOT but a lock mechanism seems bettet

I agree they made a big mistake. The scene in the movie is funny, but does not deserve its own set. What they should have done is made the normal First Order AT-ST with a removable head to do the BB-8 scene if you want -- like how the DeLorean (Lego Ideas) was made to convert to the various configurations.
I agree that it should come with the full head and just make it easy to remove.

I think it was a risk. What I think might have worked better either have a full at st with a removable head to make it look like this. Or perhaps make it part of some huge set called... idk “escape from the star destroyer”

Maybe Lego thought this was actually what it was supposed to look like as they didn't have context so they made it thinking it was supposed to be more like the AT RT from the clone wars era
In the set description on the LEGO Shop website it says "Play out a daring LEGO® Star Wars mission to make off with the partially constructed First Order AT-ST walker"
So not only did they realize that this wasn't a "complete" version of the thing, but they also had the scene wrong. I think if they would have been more well informed we might have seen a version with a removable head.

The real tell here is that Lego's own online store doesn't advertise or even have this set, makes me wonder who thought that this was OK to release...how it got past product quality checks i will never know.

Erndem Sterff Prederctions Exactly! When they made the Quad Jumper set they didn’t just give us a thruster less ship. They gave us a ship that had thrusters that popped off just like in the movie. I think I would buy the set of it came with the head popping off play feature.
