There are tons of people on youtube who only show graphic card performance for gaming, only a few of them show reviews of graphic cards for 3D purposes!
really thanks for this video!
please make more videos like this!
Thank you so much!
Wait I though you had at least 100k subs thats some insane production quality keep it up the Yt algorithm will bless you soon
Thank you so much! Much appreciated.
I legit thought this channel had like 100-1m subs. Hope u grow fast soon.
I always thought this card has more sense on 3d rendering than it does on gaming.
It's good for 3D renedring as much as for gaming to be honest :D
it actually has more sense, this card is for work purposes since gaming is nowhere even close to require 24gb of vram
For playing in 4K (which according to steam, only less than 2% of all users have 4K monitors) you will need only 8gb +- 2gb and 3090 will be a piece of junk that can barely run anything by the time games would require at least 16gb
Basically 3090 for gaming purposes is the same as Platinum/Titanium PSU for home computer. Totally excessive and not needed
@@MetalPhantom7 i was shocked when they said "best gaming card"
Its kinda useless in gaming as you really dont need that much vram
@@MetalPhantom7 Hey I have a titanium psu at home for rendering lol
If you're a 3D render artist AND a gamer, WIN!
THATS what a real 3D performance test is! THANK YOU!
Thanks @kolosh1988 Appreciate it.
I have a 8gb 1070 and 32gb of ram on a 7th gen i9... I just bought a computer with 128 GB of ram an 11th gen i9 and a 24gb 3090. 2 more days till it comes in the mail.
Exactly what I was looking for. I wish there were more test videos for Redshift renders and Arnold etc
I like the review, its from productive perspective to open mind what the card is capable of.
Why is there only a vid in this channel?😂
It's a good video
Hey, I wonder if a 3080 (12gb) will work along with my current 2070 Super in Redshift? A bit afraid that my PSU won't handle them, altho when rendering now with my 2070 it's consuming around 220W, got a Corsair HX750i, thoughts?
Hey. I would recommend getting another PSU that can handle more watts. For instance 3080 would need 750W alone.
All you did was render 3 scenes! This video is such click bait! It was more of an unboxing video than anything else. How much improvment is there over simulating popgrains or FLIP sims in Houdini (It's FREE) What about doing smoke sims? How much less lag is in the viewport when there are millions of polygons? How many polygons can actually get shown in a viewport? How many polygons can you handle in Zbrush? Why didn't you get a free demo of Xparticles and run some particle sims and cache them out and test speeds. Like HONESTLY you get all these cards want to make a video and you don't even do it to the potential it needs to be done for an artist to seriously consider it.
Appreciate your feedback. If you came here for a deep GPU research, then look somewhere else. Yeah I know, I also missed 3Ds Max, Maya, Substance Painter, Fuse, Rhino, Real Flow etc. I also could've tested fire, volumetric lights, liquid simulation, etc. I bet you'd sit and watch every second of 5 hour deep GPU research video. ;)
P.S. if you look carefully enough I've used Xparticles simulation in one of my rendered examples. But I see you have more time on writing a complaint than paying attention to this video.
My PSU is 750w, will it handle the 3090 plus the other hardware?
Another question, is it a good time for buying this gpu having the 4000s arriving?
I'd say you ideally would need a bit more than 750W for 3090 plus.
And whether to buy 3090 or 4000s comes down to your available budget and performance requirements. :)
I wonder how much percentage of this big difference in performance is due the fact it is a new generation, and how much because it has 24Gb... Comparing it to a 3080 TI would answer that question
Agree. I think an easy solution is to check it on online render benchmarks. Octane Render has a great website that can show a performance comparison between the two GPUs
Here I am, still rocking a 980ti 🤣
Still a good graphics card till this day. :)
I was looking for a new card, the price of the 3090 was ridiculous, so I got a RTX A5000. Wrong or right I am happy with a less bulky card with less heat to disípate.
Does anyone have a size comparison with the 1080 ti vs 3090?!
Roughly speaking . Average 3090 is usually bigger by at least 20% than an average 1080ti
wow great test man Thanks
YOU ROCK
3090 RTX is absolutely moster card. If you can work fast, and you know software as an expert - then only 3090 RTX. It's worth money it cost. 1 week project, and you have money back.
I'll be getting a RTX 3090 ASUS ROG STRIX OC next week 🤑 cannot wait! 😍
great comparison, thanks!
i been try to find this exactly comparation for soooo long
Hi Alex. Thanks for the information. I have been using 3ds Max with vray. I am currently using RTX 2060 super which is 8 Gigs. I am currently confused between quadro 4000 which is 8GB vs any Rtx gaming card for Lumion rendering of approximately same price range. In my country the Quadro 4000 cost around 1000 $ currently.. can you suggest.
It would be worth the price if the fricking gouging vendors followed the MSRP.
New subscriber. I like the way you gave realistic things to benchmark. I think I should look into the RTX 3090
I hope Nvidia's 4000 series cards will have 16GB of Vram. I read that should be enough for heavy workloads in 3d and video editing. Because choosing between 10/12 and 24 GB is just too much of a stretch. And AMD's cards used to have some problems with Cycles according to LTT's video. Maybe the problem is fixed now though?
Enter the rtx 4080
GREAT video and content! i'm impressed! wait ! 86 subs??!! definently underrated channel keep up the good work!
Thanks Farhad, much appreciated.
Cool! Great start! 😍
What is the speed differenc between 3090 and 3080ti? I got it there is a huge memorry gap, but I would like to know the speed performance between those two.
Please let me know how is RTX 3060 for a game artist ?
Or one should go for G series GTX 1660 ?
rtx 3060 should work like a charm
wow, great stuff! However, I think The 2080 Ti is still a very good card, considering the shortage of GPUs right now and the price, you can get a good used 2080 Ti at the price of 600£ on eBay. The performance is pretty much the same as a 3070 Ti that also is still overpriced at the moment. It depends on your needs at the end of the day.
yeah i was just as impressed by the render time of the 2080ti
Subscribed. That candy demo render was beautiful!
Thank you. Appreciate it.
What about dual 3080 EVGA xc3 (12GVram) that will fit in my case and run 18,000 cuda cores! Would love to get those benchmark files ...???
I love when 3D artists use their own project in order to benchmark cards ... I am preparing to learn 3D animation but am really puzzled if I should go for 3080 or 3090
If you're starting with 3D I would recommend going with 3080. Once you learn and start earning money with the skill you can upgrade to 3090.
Great video, very helpful. I was honestly surprised to see that you only have so few subscribers, expected many more with this video quality. Keep up the good work!
Thank you Antonia. Much appreciated
Thanks for the video!
what is better? an RTX 3090 or a 16GB RTX A4000?
RTX 3090 is a bit faster than A400 when it comes to 3D renedring.
Excelente video, muy buena informacion, aunque estemos en 2024 me recomendarias esta tarjeta para hacer edicion de video de tipo medio y algunas veces en 4k?
Yes, it's still a very good card
@@alexpolozun Ok gracias y saludos.
You should do more video of like this. Like optimizing the render for cards and etc. something know one does it.
This is for professionals 3D and motion graphics artists and RUclips gamers.there is a lot of money that needs to be amortized!
Great video man!
Could test gram usage of the cards? It would be interesting to see performance difference if your scene demands more than 12gb of gram.
Thanks for the video 👍🏾
Great Video, I am a 3D designer, too. At the same time, I considering should I get a 3080ti for C4D Arnold render? I am using 2060 for it. If I change it, will it help render more faster? ( Ps: I will change the i5 10th to the i7 11th) Because the GPU is much more expensive than before.
3080ti is a great GPU. Should work like a charm.
I don’t think Arnold works well for any graphics card. It’s still a CPU based renderer and it’s current GPU setting just doesn’t run well enough.
How about sculpting performance? Why I cant find any tutorial about it??
hello sir which card im confused between 3080,3080ti and 3090 all of them are used gpus i ll use unreal engine and other 3d applications please help
WOW....and to think that I've only a RTX 2060 (which BTW I tought was a bit stronger than 1080 TI and I was wrong it's aboout 10% weaker) is more than incredible difference I am supposed to get using my newly bought RTX 3090 Ti....and I do work with super heavy scenes (with detailed realism stuff ETC) that require such beast to seriously push them in terms of viewport performance and render time..now I'm more hyped for it after watching this test of yours...BTW nice animation scene you have with that candies, looks so cool.
Much appreciated, thanks!
Great video and it's always cool to see people showing off their personal projects in this kind of tests. Keep it up, don't mind the editing, record yourself and your projects and post them on YT. Hope you'll get another 3090 and join them with the NVLink bridge. You will have your small render farm. :)
Out of curiosity, how much vram took the rendering of your custom scene in Octane? And what is the max vram ever used by your 3090 in rendering, you passed the 20GB mark?
My guess is that Suprim is a reference to saying hello to Arnold Rimmer from Red Dwarf.
Planning on building a 3090 system...prices are jacked at the moment -😅
Yeah, very true
Now we need a comparison video with the RTX 4090!
Awesome! Exactly what I needed to see, thank you Alex
You're most welcome :)
Great video, thanks 🙌👍👍👍
Hi Alex,
For Blender
ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 3070 Ti OC Edition 8 GB GDDR6X is it better for 3D & Animation.
🤔..
It is definitely good for 3D animation.
Sup Man, wheres your next video ?
Hey, it should be put very soon. Stay tuned.
Have you tried using 2 x 3090? I need to make a new workstation and possibly another PC for rendering, so i can get high performance to create (GPU setup) and output (CPU / high core setup) . I have budget so having a machine outputting solely whilst another for making is a nice thing to have. Back to the 2 x 3090 thing. Have you benchmarked? I'm wondering with 2 x 3090 GPUs if i would need to think about liquid cooling? I'm also after a T1 case (the nice compact space saver) i know a few who use it for 1 x GPU and no liquid cooling (just a kraken glued tot he CPU). Guessing 2 x GHPUs (any kind) you'd need more space to get around the need for intense cooling needs.Any info or setup help for workstations and render machines greatly taken. More info the better as i'm a month off buying so don't want to do anything to insane. I have heard the 4090 with Redshift is very unstable with drivers (though the last article i saw on Maxon was Oct 22) so drivers might have improved. I'm getting the vibe that the 3090 is the more solid card still. thoughts? thank you for your posts and time :)))
I haven't tried 2x 3090. You would need a big motherboard and a case for it and possibly even water cooling. I'm soon to get 4090. I think new update on drivers should fix the Redshift problem for 4090.
Any way you can do a test with Maya same gpu cards but using Maya and Arnold?
Bro one of the Greatest video about GPU on RUclips Thanks for caring about artist work Real equipments stuff
Thank you, appreciate it
Thanks!
Isn't Quadro RTX A series are for professionals??
3090 Fe or amp edition? Which one is best for 3D workstation ?
Both 3090 Fe and amp GPUs have the same power. You won't spot much difference on your day to day 3D work. Get the one which is available. :)
Hi Alex. interesting video. I have recently bought 2x 3080ti and i´m changing the pc case and PSU. Did you use another old GPU for screens or directly from the 3090?
Thanks!
Rendered directly from 3090
3090 😲😲😲😲😲😲sheeeeeeeeeeeeeessshhhhh
I know right :D
Please make another one for 4090 XD
Wow bro, great video. I'm thinking about getting the 3090 in a few months, so this helped out a lot. What kind of motherboard and CPU do you have? I have an Intel i-9900K with 64gb of GDDR5 memory. Do you think I'll get good performance when I get the 3090?
牛逼😀
can we have tutorials or some work from you even your showreel on your channel will do! anything please will do! will supposrt
Thanks. Will do.
Great video mate, keep up the awesome work.
Thanks
Thank you for your efforts.
Really liked the content, any suggestions in the budget? Like 3060 or 3060Ti are they good enough? Thanks!
If you're going to use it for design/editing/rendering rtx3060 is still a really good card. Definitely go for it.
@@alexpolozun rtx 3060 vs GTX 1660 ? Which one should I go for ?
I couldn't find much on Google regarding their comparision
@@48SUBHABRATA I'd go with rtx 3060
Lovely video, hope algorithms will start promoting it soon!
Spasibo
2x 3070 would be better than a 3090?
Yes, for real time rendering with two 3070 is slightly faster than with one 3090
Great video fella - thanks
did you ever get to use above 16gb vram?
please render this with 4090
Great video. Really informative 💯
4:20 super useful 👊🏽
Just a quick thanks for making this comparison!
Most welcome Nick!
Fire content. Genuinely informative.
Thank you. Much appreciated.
Hey Alex, could you re render the scene of blender again with blender 3.1 (ecperimental version) same size 4000x2667, GPU render only in settings, add denoise with Optix (drop down menu within Blender)? I believe you will be surprised as with my RTX 2080 MaxQ (Razer 15") I am almost matching the time of 3090. Which means that the updated Cycles version in Blender 3.1 should give the 3090 the ability to render it at least 2 times less the time.
Idc for the 3090ti or the 4090ti I'm waiting for the 5090ti. 4k gaming 144fps smooth awesomess also I am interested in seeing how the 5090ti would go for you Alex and how fast it will render all your work related tasks. I will subscribe to you but please make a video on the 5090ti if you buy or get one for testing when they come out? Your video is really informative and shows just how much people need and benefit from such powerful hardware.
I personally am looking forwards to 6090ti 😊
lol who the fuck uses octane?? LOL
3D designers/artists maybe? :)
I was on the waiting list since August 2020 for the 3090. I just got delivered in Dec 2021.
Yeh, I can relate to that
Pls make some motion graphics tutorials you are amazing
men if you start your "motion designer" channel dont use a envato preset for you intro.
posso nem compra uma rt 3050 imagina 3090
hi
how are you
what is the best GPU
AMD RADEON RX 6900. XT.
MSI GeForce RTX 2080 Ti
MSI GeForce RTX 3080
3080 coz ray tracing goes brrrrr
what processor are you running?
That's exactly what I wanted !! Thanks :)
What is the reason behind the bad availability of these new cards ?? is it the pandamic or something else ?
Main reason is crypto mining. People buy these cards to mine crypto coins. 😁
Nowadys mining called 3D art 😂
I can partially agree with that. 😅
For the 3d artist, this is simply the best card currently. The only thing better are 2 nvlinked.
Yes, without a doubt.
what about 2x 3070 vs 3090, for realtime gpu rendering?
@@famofartists 2 cards vs 1 for realtime will be better but you'll lose out on vram.
What do you mean by 2 NVlinked ?
@@hassanxelamin 2 3090s sli'd together
Hey Alex, great video ! I am an industrial designer, using mostly cad software as SOLIDWORKS and RHINO. I render with Keyshot and currently trying to make the choice between the new RTX A4000 and the RTX 3080. Was wandering what would you do.
Thanks a lot 🙏🙏
I would go with RTX 3080
I brought it 5 days ago and it's amazing the rendering speed is amazing...
Congrats man
Alex What was the other parts of your PC? Your cpu, mother board etc. I am trying to put a rig together.
I'll be releasing a video about how I built my pc and what hardware I used. Stay tuned.
Of course it is not an "unbiased" review: the moment you bought it, you convinced yourself is "worth it" and will defend that decision to yourself and to everybody else because you are already invested on it.
I think this statement is quite irrelevant. I'm not blindly saying it's a good piece of hardware. I'm actually guiding the viewer through the research and showing a clear evidence of high efficiency and superiority of this GPU in comparison with other GPUs. Thanks for your opinion.
why does every 3d artist look like this guy
