Beautifully explained! What I also like is that it doesn't require the use of a bow - this way I can practise anytime without having to worry about my neighbours. Many thanks!

A large solid rubber mute would help.

Very clear, thorough and information. So many instructors just barrel ahead with information. You took your time and were patiently going through the exercises and routines. Well done!

As a very new adult beginner, I am glad to find a method that doesn't require tape. Very cool ideas!!!

The most efficient way is below or by side the first finger as it was taught by Harvey Shapiro, who was a professor at the Juilliard School for more than 30 years.

If you have a natural stretch as a gift from universe, you can put it whenever you prefer, but with small hands, non stretchy fingers it gives you more room and allows to get bigger distances between first and second fingers.
Anyway there are so many schools , approaches etc, some putting under first, some between first and second… and it’s great opportunity to get and develop your technique, choosing the one which works best for you, taking on board your physiological abilities.
