His use of metaphors is like that of a renaissance poet, there's real imagery to unpack and it's genuine imagery, it paints a picture in your mind. He can make a song about something incredibly mundane and make it sound like the most interesting topic ever. He's completely cracked the code of poetry, it's NOTHING to do with the artist and EVERYTHING to do with the art. There's no pretense, there's no "cool image". 50 cent for example acknowledges that a large part of his success is a persona and image that he's cultivated. Aes has none of that, just music that stands on it's own. Listen to Cycles of Gehenna or WaterTower and decipher those lyrics, listen Dog at the Door and tell me that's not the best example of comedy in HipHop. The guy is just an objectively brilliant poet, even if the music doesn't vibe to your taste. In the same way, 50Cent is an objectively good hit maker and has an objectively iconic image, even if you don't vibe with his music. Get Rich or Die Trying is arguably a masterpiece, but it's all about the artist and not the art.
i got Lupe over kendrick any day and thats prolly why he hatin and bitter cause he knows he better but he aint mainstream and dont got the machine behind him no more he wont be able to be seen or make the impact without a mahcine but us hip hip head know he goated he should be happy with that cause it aint a good look 😂😂
the damn freeway album is dope idk what they was hearing🤷🏿♂️ some of the beats sound too similar but its dope ass album so far Lupe common and this freeway been fire for me this year I'm waiting on the LL the Rakim Collab album was cool but he need to do a full solo@@DumbitDwn

I don't think he really wants to be mainstream I think he's happy making the albums he wants to make. He celebrated when he got of his label.
