Hei Dean, regards from a candle/soap-maker from Finland! :-) I've been making candles for about 25 years by now, soaps a little shorter time. CANDAVON is my one-woman company. I found your videos a few years ago, by accident, and it's been really nice to see your working: You're using quite a lot similar technics to mine, and sometimes you make things in a totally different way! :-D Anyway, thanks for sharing your great videos, it's really interesting to see the work of a colleague from the opposite side of this planet! :-)
Hey! Just wanted to pop in to tell you I've been following you for five years or so, and your videos still bring me great joy and peace! Thank you and much love!
Oh man, it's a relief to see melt and pour melt downs from someone else! Haha, I usually just have to bear with my own. Honestly, your videos have done a lot to remind me to just keep going when my concepts don't turn out.
I like how it looks, the top makes up for any lack of deep swirling ( in just a few slices) And really, the colours are nice and distinct, they didn’t muddle up, which is awesome. I get Egyptian or even peacock vibes.
Looks, good dean!! make some more just don't let it clump Good colour choices and maybe the clumps worked to your advantage, colours for coconut lime Lime green Blue and Gold Or Mardi gra colours gold green and purple white clear and lime green the colours combos are endless magenta orange and gold!!!
I love the colour scheme, it sort of reminds me of 'Arabian nights'. The gold would be so nice with a bold pink and purple too. I like the whole bar, even the 'failed' part!
Well saved. I was shouting pour now pour now..you didn't hear me eh? lol. I have my mica pots on the bottom of a shelf, screwed the lidts to the shelf, so they hang, made sure to get all the same pots, and refill if neccessary. they take up no room and you can see what you have, might be a cool idea for you if you have a shelf above your table. I like the gold and blue, reminds me lapis lazuli and there's a fragrance for that, not sure i see coconut and lime.i love the sparkle
Loved the colors!! I could see all the sparkles and it was beautiful. I didn't think it was a fail at all. Even with the large "clumps" it still looked great!
It looks awesome. I have a fold mica from BBW that I absolutely love. I add it to a lot of solid (pigment) colours to give some interest. I have a white sparkle mica from Bayside that appears silver, again I often use it for an extra bonus to add interest and they sort of do the job of bio glitter bc I just can't afford it or charge enough to justify the expense right now - I'm fairly new to soaping. Your videos have helped me so much, too. Yes, I watch the famous soapers but I find they edit out mistakes or they've been doing it so long they just don't make any mistakes 😉 . Seeing where someone else went wrong is a great learning tool... Even if I end up making the same or similar mistake, which is fine. Anyway, thanks again ❤️ I like all the colours BTW.
Could you sit your pots in a container of hot water to keep the blue and teal more liquid, or pouring the blue and green into two different places each instead of one spot one colour. The gold is pretty but I like to do coconut in white personally maybe Blizzard. I'm not sure blue has a place in Coconut lime. But the end did turn out pretty
Thanks, yes I guess everyone has a different take on coconut lime. I prefer white, lime green and green myself but I was trying something different - just to see the difference.
Dean, love the color combo! You show that the glass, even though it's half full, you still have something in it and you can work with what you have and learn from it! Keep up the good work!!
That colour combo is soo gorgoes. Gonna buy aqua mica now! I usually put my melted soap in warm water bath (around their melting pint) to keep them melted, so I have more time to play around :)
if i may suggest mixing your colors before you melt the base. often times i see in your videos you do not pour fast enough and your base / colors hardens up.
Great save Dean! It just goes to show we shouldn't give up when things don't go exactly as planned. Thanks for being a great inspiration 😊
Thanks Sue :)
One thing about soap, it sometimes has a mind of it's own. I think a tropical green, light brown and the gold would be interesting.
Ooo green, brown and blue is another one
I think it looks great. I get Tutankhamen vibes from the colours. Reminds me of the colours from his death mask. 🥰
Came out beautiful! I love the colors because it’s Mardi Gras colors
In the big clump it looks like a swan 🦢 very good video again thank you x
Yes, thanks
Wow, what a lucky save. I love the colour blend xxx

Thank you! Cheers! Maybe Egyptian Musk scent might go better with this color combo.

Those are beautiful
This was pretty cool, it still looks fantastic. I like the colors, I use pink, silver, and white icicles for this fragrance
Sounds great! Very nice.
I really like these! Good job Dean! I am unimaginative lol so I always only do lime green and white 😂 your colors made me think of ancient Egypt😁
Thanks Holly. I usually keep to specific colors too, but just trying something different.
Love these colors I bet that coconut lime is amazing!
It sure it, it's a very fresh smell. Love it.
@@DeanWilson might have to try a coconut soap but I'm allergic to citrus. Is mint too overpowering?
I have not tried a Mint fragrance yet. But Peppermint and Eucalyptus is very overpowering. My eyes watered.
@@DeanWilson I was wondering about that! Time for some research! Thank you so much for your advice
Love the color's
Beautiful
Sometimes mistakes can be our best masterpieces. I messed up on a batch of body butters and it made a great scented butter! This looked amazing!
Oh no! But good save.
❤️❤️❤️
Thanks you so much Sir
These are beautiful, Dean! your videos are so fun to watch...thank you for the inspiration!
Glad you like them Gwen. thanks
It looks great
Beautiful colors! As a new soaper I so greatly appreciate that you share your "fails" with us. Even though I would be thrilled to fail like this. 😁

I like all the colours BTW.
Thanks so much Kimberley. I try and keep it real :D

I love it❤👍🏽
Thanks :D

Great idea!! But with the suspending base it really needs to be hot. Even a heat gun is not enough to melt it.
I wonder if you sit the mold and jugs on a heat pad to keep them more fluid. Just thinking!
I tried boiling hot water and it still didn't help. It needs to be at least melted to 110 degree to stay liquid.
I’m getting Egyptian vibes!
Thanks for watching :)
if i may suggest mixing your colors before you melt the base. often times i see in your videos you do not pour fast enough and your base / colors hardens up.
Yes, there is a 30 second window from liquid to blob and its really hard to know when it is.
Where did you get the soap base from?
www.aussiesoapsupplies.com.au
I likr it
Because it dumped in blobs, it would have been good to swirl with the chop stick, a side figure eight would have been great! Oh well next time! 🤷♀️
I did think about doing that but when its in blobs like this its hard to break them apart.
