ahhh, I remember the days when Death DoG used to instakill you if you get hit by the head, which was pretty annoying but then I managed to master the ai of the time(was like early to mid-2018). Oh how far it has come, great video as always my dude.
@@Imf4ke I just beat the infernum today and I would say the bosses are pretty hard but nothing impossible. with each attempt getting me closer and closer to kill the boss. If I would rate the bosses on a fun scale it really depends because I hated some of the and had a lot of fun with others. supreme calamites is pretty hard but also very fun. DoG is very hard and not that fun in my opinion, and yharon was in between. Only the last three bosses and poltergeist I ever really got stuck on and majority of the bosses I could somewhat easily do.

The boss is Terrible. You either run into clouds which was never an issue until you had to ram while flying up. Aswell as the terribly unreadable attacks that give barely warning. Boss is good, the game design is terrible.
I genuinely have to say that DoG is a far better final boss than Calamitas. Whilst Calamitas is the final boss, and Yharon and Draedon are after him, DoG works better as the final boss because they have actual buildup. They have the Servants, the only boss which has a complete form change and the Murasama (which you can get Pre-Hardmode) requires you to defeat it to use it. And considering that you can see that the Murasama has almost 3000 damage really shows how powerful this thing is.
I was introduced to Calamity mod through DoG through sheer boredom as I was looking through different Terraria wiki articles. I found a link to the Calamity mod's old wiki and saw that it had unique music, so I looked it up on RUclips, and the rest is history.
I just noticed this, but Infernum’s devourer opens it’s jaws before it charges headfirst at you! Such, small, details, people will hardly ever notice due to trying to avoid the deadly attacks and yet they’re still awesome.
And it accelerates to dash at player when close enough. A ring also appears briefly to indicate that the boss is start(or ends?) dashing, though the dash is so fast you probably should start avoiding when it opens it's mouth instead of when the ring appears😂😂😂
I still remember how fun it was to race the DoG on a world length platform, pelting him with projectile while I engage in the terraria equivalent of a speedster duel
There’s a fun little note that the operator from the Alchemist NPC mod gives about the DoG where, if it had not gotten complacent while fighting you, it would have been a much greater threat. And now I like to imagine that the infernum mod upgrade to the DoG is the devourer at its true full power

I had god mode on and was just killing everything with a super op weapon, just to see the cool designs. *And then I died* The "devourer of gods" lived up to its name and would indeed one shot kill you no matter what even if you were in god mode. Additionally, NPC butcher straight up didn't work, and he even mocked you in chat for it
Wow, its so good to remember all those sprites, ive been playing terraria since 2011, was my first steam game, and this was also the first terraria mod i played, there was another mod too, obsidian or omnir dont quite remember. Seeing these give me a lot of nostalgia, including the purple destroyer sprite and the edgy dialogue he had before.
Calamity mod just so happens to have a reference to the mod you reference in the form of the Omniblade. It's not really a good weapon, especially since it is around Moon Lord when you get it and it doesn't have good range, but it's the thought that counts.
While Dokuro leaving was certainly a big deal, you can’t act like every update past rust and dust wasn’t huge and absolutely improved cal for the better

Would love a dragon based DoG, ngl. Though, the worm is iconic, I love the sick concept art of DoG. Maybe the devs add that as a shimmer variant of DoG that you can fight… put the cosmic worm in shimmer to make DoG something different.
The Devourer hits close to home for me, he has a special place in my heart because he's the reason why I started playing terraria in the first place many years ago, I found his soundtrack and I immediately fell in love with it which led me to research more about calamity mod and terraria itself until my dad finally agreed to buy it for me, I beat the base game first and made sure to know everything about it before going into calamity, that happened 3 years ago or so, and to this day I've beaten calamity around 4 times and I couldn't be happier being part of the community

Personally, I LOVE the Infernum version of the fight. Making dashing a requirement makes the fight so fast and brutal. You have to play extremely extremely offensively and I love how it looks like you're dancing with it, where it's essentially winding itself around you and you're dashing through it.

Interesting is Enternity/Masochist mode (both are different) has a Destroyer that looks like old Devourer of Gods Also there’s a lore accurate mod that allows him to randomly spawn and kill you (lore accurate)
While Infernum looks amazing, the necessity to dash makes me feel quite annoyed. It is tough, and feels like a battle against a god, yet, forcing a player to do "this or that", as a mandatory step for winning, has never been my personal favourite.

They slowly phased that out; for a time the sentinels only showed up for the initial fight or if they hadn’t been trounced by the Terrarian yet
