    Love to see the younger generation getting into records..theres just something about the ritual of listening to records..very cool

      Thank you! In today's technological world, we're all getting so disconnected from the simple pleasures of doing things the "old-fashioned" way. Clicking on a track in Spotify is so far removed from the joy of taking out a treasured record, giving it a quick clean, putting it in your record player, and then watching it spin as you listen to the songs in the order that the artist intended. The same is true for so many other hobbies like writing with an old-fashioned fountain pen or shaving with a straight razor - I'm in love with how these simple changes take everyday tasks from ordinary to little luxuries and allow us to reconnect with our real world ❤

    Your aesthetic is dope af. Your hands are tiny but I’m glad you’re not letting them hinder collecting records. You got this! 🖐🏽Looking forward to watching your collection grow

      Thank you! I'm glad you like the setup ❤️ I initially bought a suitcase record player but I ended up returning it after a day or two - I figured since this was a long-term hobby I wanted to commit to, I might as well invest in a decent setup!

      @@HeartofAvocado All my family have the Audio Technica Lp60xbt plus last year I gave a friend of mine from my church one as a late birthday present because she had a Jensen which is one of the bad quality record players she loves the Audio Technica so much better

      It's so cool that your family is into vinyls and they have Audio Technica players! Audio Technicas have such great quality - compared to the initial suitcase record player I bought, the quality is night and day! A vinyl record player is such a lovely gift for a friend - your friend from church is lucky to have you!

    why you don't like anymore Taylor swift?....

    • @HeartofAvocado
      @HeartofAvocado  5 месяцев назад +5

      I have a long list of reasons but in short, she is yet another symbol of everything wrong with late-stage capitalism - the endless greed & the reduction and objectification of individuals into nothing but consumers. I don't support billionaires and individuals who hoard wealth at the expense of the working class. Even putting that aside, her greed has contributed to her releasing ridiculous amounts of music and oversaturating her own brand with a lot of music that just pretty much sounds exactly the same.

      @@HeartofAvocadoif you don’t consume taylors work anymore for this reasons, you’ll have to stop consuming a lot of things that i can see on your shelf. im sorry, but its a shallow and naive argument.

    • @HeartofAvocado

      Except, I am still consuming Taylor Swift's music - as you can clearly see, the majority of my records are Taylor Swift. However, I am no longer into her or her music, so I'm not consuming much of her new music and I'm no longer interested in keeping up with her work.
      We all live in a society, as such we are bound to the systems that are in place. One can ethically and morally oppose a system and its symbols but still live a normal life. There is nothing naive about having an understanding of the socio-economic system we live under and in being able to look beyond the spectacle and see what things really represent.
