What anyone considering driving for Uber through the Hertz rental program is that you must either (A) have a major credit card in your name with a $500 minimum deposit or (B) a debit card with good credit - and, yes, they do run your credit if you choose this option! If you do not qualify with your credit you will be required to come back with a.major credit card in your name! Basically Uber does NOT disclose any of this information before you apply!!!!
i ve been renting for a long time now 0 down $215 a month for an xl i make that in 2-3 days. i don't have to worry about ware and tear for 2 1/2 years end of lease. then do the same thing on the same lease remember you can take it back any time and get a new one.
I'm going to start working for the ports of L.A. And Long Beach very soon, once I start they offer work mornings and in the night based on an alphabetical#I'll never really know when they have work and may end up working once a week when slow or even every other week, to every single day working! It fluctuates..anyway I am a class A port truck driver right now and I uber on the side through fair, that's 203$ a week.. I have no other transportation for now, but I dream of getting into the black/suv/lux game as soon as possible....looking forward to joining your GOAT program and learning some new skills please remember me :-$
Uber Lux doesn't make any sense and it's way more expensive than Lyft Lux. With my Lexus, there's times when Lyft Lux is fairly busy as some riders get quicker rides on Lyft Lux vs waiting for a regular Lyft and sometimes Lux is cheaper than regular Lyft. On Uber, I can do Uber Comfort and Select. Sometimes I turn on Uber X when it's surging and Lyft Lux is still busier.
I am retired, know the DFW thoroughly and am weighing my future as an Uber driver. This conversation has enlightened me to the possibility of driving for Uber. Thanks for your insights.- Jim Lyons

When I rented an Uber Fair car (my car self destructed) my incomes dropped from $25/hr to $15/hr as Uber forbad working for Lyft.
Now I have a lot more downtime and work more hours!
Buy Buy Buy is my earnest advice. I feel like fool number one after renting.
PLUS... After a few months Fair's incentive went from $135 after 90 trips to ZERO!

I have been on a bike for 7 years. I finally got a rental through Uber for $190 per week plus $20 per day for gas. I make $100 a day, so that leaves me with $370 weekly profit. I am living in the car, so I pay no rent. I will be moving in with my son in 3 months. I park in underground garages. As of now, without rent, I am clearing $370 per week, less food ($10 daily). So, realistically, that's $300 a week. When I move in with my son, I'll have to come up with $200 a week for my share of the rent. That leaves me with $100 a week ($400 monthly) in savings........... I need to make more. I am 62. Can I call you for advice? I'm a vet.

I find that very hard to believe. You can make those statements if you have driven in Black. And nobody goes back to X, once they have driven Black.

I live in NYC and here you have to get TLC plates, inspection and insurance, all money that i do not have atm which is why idk if i should use my own car or rent one.

THANK YOU!!! I really needed this info!! I've been assuming I'd sign up in a month or so after I could hopefully afford to get a new car! What do you think about; I'm a 55 yr old woman not afraid of hard work but not a strong young man or woman either. And I'm frankly nervous about personal safety as an older female etc. And any other possible issues for someone in my category. For example I wouldn't be so good at carrying peoples' luggage for them...

If you research 5star and high end hotels, if you know all concert arenas and sports arenas, especially when Miami Heat plays, if you research the highend magazines that post Social Money and Funraising events, you usually know where your clientele is and you have to be good at it and get business cards out with a picture of you and and your car on it. i am self employed tradesman, when i am busy with my own business, i just want to make enough to cover my rental $270 per week and make a bit on top. When my work is quiet i will do more driving. Do you think renting is the way to go in my situation?

If you driving 1-2 k per week, I don't see how it would make economic sense to end up owning the car you drive.

That is a good business you got then! THAT would definitely make sense. However you are not really keeping the car (often implied in owning) and for anyone without that magical hook up, me, it would make little sense.
No One correct, the Suv passes through the business..legally you own it because you pay cash, and then it is simply an operational tool. here in LA, the SUVs are leasing out for 500 tp 650 per week.
And do you think Uber will be around along time being that they plan on going automated soon one day.

Zoom in UsA - Everybody gets the bonus silly. I pay a month what you pay a week and I get the bonus too. The difference is when I go on vacation my payment is less than $300 yours is $800. Also I can use my car to trade up for a newer one or sell it on my own. Even including maintenance buying is way way smarter way to go. Tires, oil changes, repairs don't add up to $600 a month, plus breakdowns vare covered under warranty not costing the rental company money.
