      1) just leave 10 min early every day
      2) adjust your bloody carburetor
      3) add a spacer in between the carburetor and the engine (cheap and easy to install); make sure your coolant is full; and make sure clean cold air goes through the air intake
      4) ANY CAR will become unreliable after 50 years!
      5) Just wear your seatbelt. I am more scared of the airbag than crashing.
Classics are the best daily drivers.

Even on cold days I don’t have to wait 10 minutes for my car to warm up and I’ve never had overheating problems. Old engines are reliable in the long run. If you take care of your car anything that breaks is pretty simple to fix considering the lack of electronics and sensors in classic cars.

Classic cars are not dangerous. PEOPLE ARE! We just live in an age where everybody's protected by airbags, lane correction systems, accident avoidance systems. There's so much going on in our cars and in our lives now that people have become the danger to themselves. A car wouldn't kill somebody just like a gun wouldn't kill somebody if there wasn't someone behind it.

All those things vary by how classic you go, and wich car it is.
My buddy daily drives his Golf Mk1 Convertible, even in winter and with snowfall. No issue there.
On the reliability: it's a golf, hit it with a hammer, and it runs again.
Fuel: about 10-12L/100km is still afordable
    (Around 19-23 mpg)
My brother has an Audi 80 convertible, 5cyl.
Perfect for daily use, no winter use though for conserving it, has ABS, Proconten, Servosteering and powerbrakes, no airbags, no AC.
    Uses about 9L/100Km
Heats up in 5min of normal driving, and you can floor it after 15min/ when the oil is up to temp.
I got myself an Audi 80 Avant Quattro, with AC, cruise controll, ABS, driver airbag.
Uses about 8L/100km, pretty good for a 30 year old car

    1. Wait 10min for a carb vehicle to warm up? Other than a few pumps and maybe a few cranks when it's been sitting to start there is no required warm up. Like any other vehicle don't drive it hard when cold. Warm up time is determined by aluminum vs steel. 2. Cooling issues. You have to go much further back to get to vehicles that have issues with sitting at a light and overheating. Air-cooled motors in cars have been gone for a very very long time. If your classic is overheating you have an issue.

I’ve had my Chevelle for 22 years. It’s got a 600 HP small block, and 3:73 gears. Drag radials and skinnies on front. Yes, it’s terrible on gas. It’s never overheated and it’s been driven in the hot humid summers of the Midwest and most recently, in the middle of southern Arizona summers. You don’t need to warm it up for 10 minutes. While I agree it’s impractical to daily drive, you’ve literally got no idea what you’re talking about.

    1. You don’t have to wait 10 minutes after start to drive your car, that’s a myth. Oil is already circulating and none of the internals are really encountering much friction before the oil reaches them, unless your an idiot and floor it when you just turned it on, it’s not going to hurt anything.
    2. They can get good gas mileage pretty easily in fact depending on the vehicle. My 86 ram charger got about 18 mpg and it was 4x4, that’s pretty close to the same as a newer truck. The reason you think it gets less mileage is because it’s much more fun to drive faster.
    3. I’ve never had an older car overheat unless something was wrong, you should probably have that looked at. They are in fact designed for use in traffic… because they are cars…
    4. You got me on safety, newer model cars are much safer than older models. One could argue that’s part of the fun though
Long story short fix your cars lmao that Shelby deserves better

    1. Not true, you just can’t redline it immediately and that true with every car also sounds like you’re not tuned right, 2. MPG just don’t hammer your foot down and know how to economy drive, 3. If you’re overheating you can’t build a car or motor right, 4. Reliability isn’t a problem if you know how to do simple upkeep on the car and don’t cheap out on Chinese parts.

Also for anyone watching that doesn’t know much about that carb - they will not overheat if you care for your cooling system, remembering that the vehicle is 30-70 years old; and the carb does not need to warm up for 10 f*cking minutes, maybe in the arctic, but not anywhere in the United States.

Another thing is that it averaged 8mpg, had no power steering, no safety features whatsoever, and the transmission ( a borg warner 3 speed automatic I believe) only let the car reach speeds of up to around 60 miles per hour. Do I regret buying it? Definitely not. Do I regret trying to use it as a daily driver? Every single day of my life.

1). Your mustang is a restomod with what looks to be a modern mustang motor
    2). Your mustang is incomplete
3). Your cobra is a REPLICA of a niche race car from the day, not entirely made to be road driven
4). If you need to let your car warm up for 10 whole minutes there’s something wrong with your a/f mixture, you should just be able to give it a little choke and be well on your way (that is if your car is fussy). You’d even make your car a bit more efficient 😉

I have driven classic cars since i was a teenager, drum brakes can fade, but they do NOT need to warm for 10 minutes. if your classic is an inline six cylinder car, you can expect @ 20mpg, so not too bad on fuel, and for the first 85 years of auto manufacturing antilock brakes, traction control, airbags, etc. did not exist, yet all mankind did not die. They are NOT impractical. they are simpler, easier to maintain on your own, easier to diagnose and repair on your own. my cars had adequate cooling systems from the factory, NEVER had overheating issues. Maybe your car has the wrong radiator for the engine size? I declare B.S.

Almost all you said at this video is wrong
    1. You can drive it after it stats you just need to adjust the choke when the car heats you just push the choke down
    2. They are more reliable than new cars because these are simple engines there is not much to go wrong usually there are small problems like spark plugs and so on

I have a c3 that I’ve been in stop and go traffic for thirty+ minutes and it didn’t even crack 200°. And that’s with a built 400.
