Mickey Johnson exactly. NOBODY is above being questioned about something. Doesn’t matter who they are. I would have left that church as well. At my old church, I would consistently email my pastor questions and he loved it. Always answered my emails in a timely fashion.

Truth. Church has basically been a pastime for most people. Go on the high day Saturday or Sunday to calm your conscience. The Bible is a great compilation, unfortunately it is either not read or not read with understanding.
I noticed the lack of growth from my judgemental family members who attend church every week and still have nasty ways ,they literally start right after church.
In the church as well, the gossiping is something I don't want any parts off and it seems to be their favorite pastime

Wow, what you said hit home for me. I would have to agree with you regarding the current state of our churches. My husband and I left a ministry a few years back. It was not until we left that we learned how to have a real relationship with the Most High. We visit churches but we keep coming seeing things that don't line up with the word. Thanks for your post. Honestly like this is something that is missing. God bless you sister.

Child you are not alone, I too left the church and tried to go back but it was always the same pattern. Child live by word and continue to believe in Jesus. Practice love and you will grow.
I feel the same way. I worked in youth ministry for 7 years and the church is not growing and neither is ministry.The church is dead, full of hypocrites, and I'm just tired.
I work with a pastor that's married, he drinks and ask me to put him on women!
White churches are less like our because they do for their people. Black churches are every man for himself….

Amen, so I'm not the only one going thru a spiritural transformation. I've been going from. church to church and can't seem to connect. they show love but thats it, there's no how are you doing, do you need anything, etc. etc. We need to do operate like the book of Acts. please do not walk this journey alone. I'm stronger now as well since I've been doing bible study on youtube on my own, just staying focused. I continue to keep my head up and trust God. He will send remnants that are after God's heart. We need to feed the hungry, give to the poor and help somebody out. thats ministry as well, God bless, the kingdom of heaven is of every tongue and nation, lets live and walk it out. Black, white purple we are His royal priesthood. We are not alone.

I'm so Glad to see this Video and Comment I have been Feeling the Same way ,about Church the Building I been in Church a long time Church of God in Church Visited many and They are not like it use to be Soul use to be Saved etc. Everything has come in or They Welcome The Worldly things God was Putting in my Spirit That We need to not have all these Programs Anniversaries Church Pastor Wife Anniversary Convocations, I spoke about it years ago but As I was talking seems no one was Listening at our Church because they had to go along with the COGIC Doctrine and The Bishop I was Always thinking where is these tithes going We don't have A Outreach Ministry to help others They give money to the Bishop but for Some Reason this year I felt so uncomfortably each time they plan for the year Programs etc. I have A Injured back but I would Still press on in Pain until one Sunday I couldn't make it No one Called, No one Visited, It was like where are the Saints that Cared next Sunday still I couldn't make it The Pastor wife texted me said I'm Praying for you, Still no Visits or do you need Anything etc. I guess because I have not Sent my tithes,Anyway I started Feeling Like The Lord was Bringing me out of the Church Building, I went to Visit a Church that didn't have no walls its called Church Under The Bridge it's under a Bridge too homeless, poor,disabled come they Wirship God have Church, alter call they feed them and have clothes if they need them ,they didn't take up A Offering, but if you want to you can mail one in as donations, It was on A Saturday I felt like a different person just free from just Visiting there.I've been gone from the Church 4 Sundays now it's hard to get myself together to go Pain and its Morning Service if you don't get there by 12:00 time to go,Sorry for writing so much but I see so many that Say I left Christianty.

This is exactly what I am seeing in my church. I WANT THE TRUTH, but all I see is that they want to come and dance and shout and my pastor, he acts like a punk like he can't tell the truth. He wants to sugar coat and it just got on my last nerve. I used to say a little of what I seen and the church thought I was crazy. I can't do it anymore. I will seek Him for myself.

For every question I've asked out loud in church, there have been 20 more in my head that I've been too scared to ask out loud. As soon as a certain type of behaviour becomes fashionable in church (even Godly behaviour) it creates an element of competition where one has exhibit that behaviour.

I watched my mother n step father give up all there money and they both died broke now where is the church to give us some of that money back to help us out and my aunt passed away and where is the church to check on the family but they will take that money.

It's "funny" that you said it was like people were hypnotized. That's actually the case, believe it or not. I went to a hypnotist along time ago to get over all my emotional baggage that I had from going to an Apostolic Pentecostal Church. And, I thought that, if I could possibly get hypnotized, maybe I can get rid of all this negativity in my life. They pump you full of fear. Anyways, I told the hypnotist that I wasn't sure if I could even be hypnotized. And, that's when the hypnotist asked me what I want to be hypnotized for, and what type of Church did I go to. I told him that I went to a United Pentecostal Church. And, he started laughing. I asked him why he was laughing. And, then, he explained how that I had been hypnotized so many times already by the preacher, the highly emotional music, and the worship. And, that's when my eyes were opened. They use mass hypnosis on their congregations. When they talk really slow, then faster and faster, that's all part of hypnosis, to build up the emotional stimuli and to overwhelm the brain. And, when they walk back and forth, pacing, on the platform, that's all designed to overwhelm the brain, too. Then, of course, they try to get you to visualize things with their really descriptive yelling sessions (preaching), once they get ya really emotional, putting suggestions into your brain. And, they REPEAT words and phrases over and over again. Drilling all that stuff deeply into your mind. It's just wrong!!! And, it definitely destroys people's lives. It destroyed mine. I now have PTSD because of this darned so called Church. I thought, at first, that the Pentecostal Church was the BEST thing that ever happened to me, and now, its the absolute WORST thing that ever happened to me. It's like a nightmare that I can't wake up from. I can't shake it because it was so deeply drilled into my head and into my emotions. It becomes part of you and you become part of it. You're no longer really yourself!!! You no longer really think for yourself. The leadership does ALL your thinking for you. Ya can't do anything unless you have permission from the Pastor. He decides what ya do and what ya don't do. And, there's a LOT more that ya can't do than you can do. Just saying! So many rules ("holiness standards"). And, like you said, you're never ever supposed to question the leadership. Never!! SMH
Still believe in God. But, have NOTHING to do with the Church anymore. Just spiritual now, no longer religious at all. And, thank God for that. Feel a lot better now, and feeling a LOT closer to God now, too, since I left the Church. Thanks for doing this video and for sharing it. I appreciate it!!! And, good luck with everything. Praying that you start to really heal from all this traumatization that you went through. And, it's definitely traumatizing. Like I said, I now have PTSD because of this so called Church. 😡😔🤦♂️

I visited a few churches and I didn't feel the presence of God there. One of the church I went to a lady was homeless and the pastor knew it and never offer her a place to stay . But they claim they're doing the work of God.

I left my home church too. Been serving there for 12+ years because music is my passion and I wanted to serve God. But my uncle who was a drug addict is the pastor and he has this temper that really turns you off. Even when the worship is going on, he would suddenly get mad and scream at the musician who was off key. Everyone was not God-conscious but pastor conscious because he is just so controlling. I did my best. I had to leave.
Agree 100% went thru exactly the same.Was very faithful and loyal to "the pastor"and couldn't understand what was happening .After much seeking for answers He started revealing the truth of his word and say Come out.The true church is not found in a building although there is a remnant there also.God bless;)

If I go sit and talk and share with my mom, I am in fellowship with the church because she is a believer. So I don't need to be at the building to be in fellowship or even worship. Church is a business an they need members and money to maintain.

The "church" as we know it died. I got blown at my church for trying to correlate Revelation Chpt 12 with the scheduled events occurring Sept 23rd. Most churches are about feeling good...or under constraint by their 501c3 status. WE ARE THE CHURCH!

My dear sister, I had to leave church institution in 2004. I was visiting different churches but now I won´t get a member of any institution.
Here for you I found a good word:
"Christianity began in Israel as a community( the disciples of Yeschuah HaMaschiah).
Then it went to Greece and it became a philosophy.
Afterwards it came to Italy and became an institution-then it came to Europe and it became a culture

I understand exactly what you are saying Sis. I struggled with the same thing, I would leave, go back, leave, go back, until I just couldn't go to the building. Too much of the wrong things were going on. You preach one thing but you actions show something else. It's like the members were hypnotized by every word the Preacher/man said. And people were hurting but not being healed. God bless you!

I can definitely relate to what you were saying in this video. Especially about not helping people when the Spirit was saying that they need help and not questioning leadership. I could almost FEEL the spirit of oppression again when you were talking about your experience. I pray that you find a church that Believes in Jesus and practices all the good things that were written about in the book of Acts!

I've been persecuted by the "church " since I was a teen because of mental illness.I am now 60 years old. Horrible. I have been on a roller coaster ride with Jesus because of it. Now I am solid and in love with Him. I have searched many churches and have seen enough RED flags, as I am awake and know "what time it is"... I am looking for a small group of believers to fellowship with as I hunger for Christian friendship. God has shown me so much covert and worldly deception in each church I visited and on tv, of course. I believe this is His Will for me. He says in His Word in the end times do not be deceived! I won't by Gods grace...Prayerfully, you all won't either! We need to question, rely on the Holy Spirit and listen to Gods word. I am closer to the Lord now more than ever! Amen my sister....I don't think my God wants to see me sleeping in church for me to show I am a true Christian. Praying loud like a hippocrete but immediately I leave....I am out in the world....people don't see God in me....My actions are far from God. So Christianity has to show in my character....that's what I am working on.

Many are leving the church building dont let it frustrate you! Most churches are organised to maintain the status quo and increase numbers and for the leaders to maintain lifestyle and keep the big givers and lukewarm sunday materia;l christians happy. so you will not grow if you want more word or are serious about soul winning. The best thing to do is focus on doing what Jesus said and ignore all the other stuff. Connect with likeminded individuals if you can if not walk alone. BTW you are gorgeous and I like your accent!

God is on His throne, in control and still rules in the kingdom of men...so even though from earth's perspective it does seem like church is falling apart, from God's perspective things are lining up as He planned and the outcome will be for the betterment of all mankind...Lets stay focused on that fact that God has the power and wisdom to raise the dead and make things alive, church included....it may be that He is changing the whole concept of church as we know it...Remember ALL things work together for good for those who love God...keep your love growing

You are not alone in this, I attended a Church even got into Women’s Bible Study Ministry, Outreaches, Fellowships only becoming Spiritually Dry, unfocused and questioning and even baffled on if I post picture or pictures or a video of a Fellowship or a skit Women’s Bible Ministry would hold and getting comments or calls saying “ You cannot post this, as we can’t let the head pastor know” it got to a point that at one evening in Women’s Bible Study and having a “group leader” ignore me and when she noticed me I was her group idiot and I calmly put my homework and Bible in my tote bag and got up and calmly said “ I am out of here, I’m leaving” and left wondering okay Lord what’s next ? As time moved on and doing research and it’s a great relief to know this information on leaving Churchianity not Christianity
Still Praying and Learning and most importantly Listening in hopes to find a New Testament/ Book of Acts Fellowship

Preach! I'm with you. I think the same exact things. I've been out of "religion" for almost two years now. Jesus grabbed me by my collar, and pulled me out. He was like don't get your hat, or your coat. It's time to go!
Yes sis, I too have left the church and I have become the Church. The Holy Spirit was showing me things and revealing things to me in regards to the church I had been attending off and on for 20+ yrs. The pastors messages were questionable, the decon's were roaming around like dogs in heat, I mentioned to a few of the sisters on my pew about the content of some of the sermons and they basically said " no matter what they don't care, & Paz must of had a bad night" they were not questioning anything. It was too much for me and I am not that one who will sit back and say nothing, my spirit was not sitting well with it. I wasn't growing in my walk, I tried to reach out to older ladies to you know sit under and glean some knowledge and wisdom from , no that was a mistake. I had to tell them please stop gossiping and all that. Any way I remember I was praying so hard on day asking God to help me find someone at church who I could call friend, sister, mentor, accountability partner all that and clear as day I got in my spirit- Why are you looking for everyone else but ME? I gulped so hard , and immediately cried. I was guilty! I was trying to find this person , or this conference , or this retreat and God was saying to me I AM RIGHT HERE! So that's why none of what I was searching for manifested. I left the church , and just leaned on God for the substance I was so eagerly searching for. What I learned is God has given me more than what I was ever looking for. I have a relationship, I have a confidant, I have a counselor, I have a mentor, I have a friend, and I have a loving Father who teaches me and gives me revelation knowledge. Ms. Mo Sis I have a similar testimony. I had an awakening in the middle of a Sunday morning service where God let me know He wasn’t there even though everyone was jumping around and “speaking in tongues.” I asked God to protect me while all those spirits were shouting and He most certainly did. That was the last time participating in and being a member of organized church. Too much going on, mostly all women and never the same amount of men. I was grieved and vexed at the same time. I’m so glad the Most High is calling His people out of that system and drawing us to Himself. The truth of who He is and why we were created is to worship Him in spirit and in truth. I too went to a Pentecostal church and it is just what your saying. Unholy people pretending to be holy with snobby attitudes. No true teachings. Leaving the way you came in. EMPTY. I left and in the process found out who we really are. The churches won't tell you because they follow a code. We are the Israelites of the bible and when you find that out and study your history in the bible you will never be the same. I had to come out of that mess.

The more I read my Bible, the more I dislike the "church building". I didn't see any of what I was reading in my Bible taking place in the church, so I stopped going, but my passion for God increased. I want to obey God's commandments, and the Holy Spirit speaks to my heart so intently, and I just worship God more intently.

I went through a journey of my own that I did not expect; the deeper I went into the information, the hungrier I became and I began to devour knowledge- nonstop. My walk consisted of heavy study (bible study, secular books, audio books, videos), self reflection, analysis of history, mythology, current events, the sciences, common sense and logic... and finally came to the conclusion that there’s no legitimate reason or evidence to believe in ANY supernatural being.
I understand and appreciate your sentiments and your journey. It takes a lot of courage to come out. It actually takes more courage to come out, than to remain within the flock, yoked in the sunken place of religious superstition and dogma.
I’ve always been an inquisitive person: demanding answers and I was never one to accept idea that “ I’m not supposed to understand...”. That always seemed sketchy and suspicious. I’m a physician: and not a contractor or a pilot. I know that, without intense study, I’m not necessarily going to understand rocket science or computer engineering or astrophysics.
However, I was determined to understand theology, philosophy on the backdrop of History and the general natural principles of the universe as a whole.
I focussed more on actual evidence.
“Religion is considered by the common man as true, by the wise as false and by the rulers as useful.” -Seneca, the younger.
I completely understand that there is a dire need to find something to believe in, or to pray to, or to depend on: especially given all that ppl of color have gone through these last 500+ years. There’s a serious need to believe that all of this suffering is not in vain and that there is divine retribution or payback, because we must be the “ chosen people.”
The Bible contains great stories and tales of courage and wisdom. However, the Bible has way too many falsehoods to be a credible set of documents; don’t believe me? Look at the biblical description of the earth/universe.
Is our fate determined by a book? By a mind reader in the sky? By a devil living in some underworld somewhere? No.
In actuality, it’s much, much more likely that there are no “chosen people”. It’s much more likely that we live in an old, beautiful, yet dangerous universe where things “just happen” and that our fate is determined by probability, opportunity and preparation, superimposed on the backdrop of natural forces, biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, evolution, etc.
Continue searching for truth in an honest way and you’ll eventually see that there is no evidence of higher beings.
That voice you hear in your head when you’re talking to “the most high” is actually your own thoughts about what you think he would say. You’re actually deifying your own thoughts.
QUICK EXPERIMENT:
Imagine hearing your favorite song. Imagine hard: to the point where your can actually imagine playing it, or dancing to it.
Can you actually hear it if it’s not playing? No. You’re only thinking about it, but your brain makes you think that you are actually hearing it. The same is true for conversations with “the most high”; it’s imaginary, but we’re taught that the voice inside our head is a “god”.
No one is coming to save us. We must save ourselves. Religion is false. Live your best life now, because there’s no proof of another life after this one.
It is so amazing, encouraging and refreshing to see other Truth seekers and doers out there !! Speak sister !! Praise God! 🙌

I've been saved since the age of 19. I am now 49 years old and just now coming to this revelation that the church is not the building and that when we limit God to just a building, we are not truly trusting God! Yes I use to get rebuked often if I had a question and I knew the Holy Spirit was telling me something else. So I am no longer in a church and honestly my relationship with God has drawn me closer to him.
Audwin Scott Good for you, I know that was hard for you. We talk about putting God in a box and when u look around you and see how the world, the earth, and the universe was made, there is no closure, there is no end.....so why do humans build buildings and tell us God lives there....that his presence is there. I just will forever disagree. I'm grateful that I can SEE.

That's true. We are the Church. Many have stopped Tithing, they give his God leads. We can gather and have fellowship at a house, store, park etc. Stay in the word, Live Holy and share the Truth.

I figured this out when I was 6yrs old. The hypocrisy was clear to even a child. The church most of my family belonged to was immaculate. Big beautiful building. Inside nice furnishings & fixtures. Manicured lawn. BUT all around the neighborhood...poverty. I got punished by my grandmother for asking my Sunday School teacher “Why does God not care about black people?” I got punished for questioning. It was a curious & my young mind thought a legitimate question. When I was old enough to decide for myself I never went back except for funerals & weddings
Thank you for sharing. My husband and I also left our church. It sounds like God worked on our hearts in a similar way. It felt like we were trapped in a perpetual bubble of praise that was kept within the building. Man's interpretation and rules (religion) was the main focus. Scripture was cherry picked and ?'s were frowned upon. Money was hoarded verse helping others in our immediate reach. The list can go on and on. An individual's walk with God outside of the building was not of importance at our church.... attendance was. My family has a more intimate relationship with God now since we have left. It just felt so right and still does. I pray that others will seek outside of the building..seek the "Kingdom of God" within themselves.

You truly have the Spirit of God in your life It is sad that the "church" no longer serve the Lord as they should. I believe when the leadership allows sin to run rampant we will suffer God's rath like Sodom & Gomorrah. You stay true to the word of God. WOW! I Think you have a powerful testimony! God is calling so many out. I hope that you will continue to walk with Him. I recently left my church and have also taken my children out. We study, and worship at home. We were faithful members for 10 years! Never missed a Sunday...we Never missed a program..we Never missed bible study even if we were the only ones to show up! We faithfully showed up to support our pastor when he spoke at different churches. Long story short..God began to show me so many things in the church that were displeasing to Him and that contradicts His Word. If your gift is ministry or teaching, I pray you operate in your gift. I pray that you help lead others to Christ and to the Truth. There is much work to be done. I heard what you said about it being better to leave than to stay and cause problems...I felt that way as well...But know that God would not have His children to bring chaos and division.

Congrats to sista. I too have finally waken up to the real truths. I haven't gone in nice while now and I've never felt more free to learn the truth and understand what truly matters. Be blessed you and your husband.
I feel you. I still go to church on Sundays for the fellowship but I study and spend time with God throughout the week on my own.
All I need are my laptop & Bible. Honestly, church has become a social gathering. Ppl dress up, sit in pews and watch other people sing and preach for an hour. It's impossible to truely worship & seek God fervently in an hour.
A few years late but THANKS. I have been feeling this ways since October 2015.
I always tell this story....in my life I have never seen my father step into a church but I can tell he is one of the fewest people I know that are close to God in my opinion.....his character says it all...not that he is perfect but I see people in the church and I don't hunger to become a Christian because of their own actions.
Nthabiseng Grace This is so true, I always say I love people more than people who confess to be a Christian, it doesn't make sense to me. I have more compassion for people and with me it doesn't matter what church you go to or if you even go to church.

By the way I too was caught up in Christianity until i cried out to the Father to reveal the truth to me, He's faithful, i grew up in the church it was all that I knew but my soul was not satisfied,the Father revealed the truth to me and for the first time I am at peace.

I feel your heart sister. We have to pray for righteousness to win over in the leadership. I saw favoritism especially in choosing who will lead over more qualified people with experience and with spirituality and having the right heart to lead, and it creates a cancer in the Church the Body of Christ. Jesus said, this can only come out by fasting and praying. Nasty people in leadership??? That's not God, that the devil all-day anyway! As Pastor of my Church that God gave me, prayer will lead and finish the day so that God is in the decision making. Keeping a watchful eye is always our charge too!
I’ve met a lot of demons in church. 😈On the other hand, I work with a Nigerian young man who doesn’t pay tithes and hardly ever goes to a church building, but he’s is abundantly blessed because he helps people every day 😇 -giving money out of pocket, buying people lunches, giving folks rides home, etc.
He’s one of the coolest, morally inclined people you ever want to meet 🥰, yet he *HARDLY EVER* goes to church, and God always pays him back 10x what he gives. He’s an example of how we should all live and help each other.
Going to church is not the answer; changing the ❤️ is.

I Love Christ so much and I'll never walk away from him but I have understanding on walking away from the people inside the church! It's like the act as if some are better then others and don't involve the kids or the members as a whole! It's so much super stardom and making people feel as if they are not as good as one another!

You should start an online bible study. Your voice is so relaxing. I am like you I quit the church building in 2011 because the different "ministries" praise dancing with white face and different distractions from the word that bothered my soul to the core. I fellowship with my daughters and Mom when I can but its not often
Black folks got a problem with vision, education, community building and enrichment, finances, honour, sense of occasion, basic empathy and so on whether we go to church or not but I agree 💯 with your talk.

C- (15+4=)19 opened My eyes to a lot. The so-called ministers of the Holy Scriptures were exposed on who should be followed and who really trusted The Most High Father. Not all are hypocrites, some were real. I have a hard time going back because they said we can't assemble the way the scriptures say, but they turn around and said from thur-sat the doors will be open to bring in donations.

If men attain success in business, they must have a will to do and a faith to look for results. And we cannot expect to gain spiritual knowledge without earnest toil. Those who desire to find the treasures of truth must dig for them as the miner digs for the treasure hidden in the earth. No halfhearted, indifferent work will avail. It is essential for old and young, not only to read God's word, but to study it with wholehearted earnestness, praying and searching for truth as for hidden treasure. Those who do this will be rewarded, for Christ will quicken the understanding." (COL 111.2) I pray you are well mentally, physically and spiritually. May I suggest a wonderful book to read. You can read it online free. The name of it is "The Desire of Ages". All you have to do is type in your search engine - Desire of ages pdf - It will take you to another window and click on were it says - Desire of Ages pdf - and it will automatically start to download. This book tells you about the life of Jesus, His crucifixion and his death. It also tells of His love for us. Be blessed.
