My G1 JETFIRE back in the ‘80’s had a similar issue with the landing gear (and it was brand new)…. My uncle was a huge transformers fan as a kid, and my Grandparents kept a lot of his toys, so growing I had a couple 80s g1 figs, including an original release hound that I never figured out how to transform because I was 4
That original Valkyrie toy is amazing. 2000s-level articulation in a 1980s toy. I was able to get a knock-off pretty cheap (colours are wrong and no FAST-packs, but otherwise pretty accurate) and it holds up amazingly well. The only G1 toy that out-does its Classics version pretty much hands-down.
Kind of amazing when you consider the Valkyrie was the very first transformer, or at least the first to gain any popularity. Was amusing (but unsurprising) to find out more recently that its designer, Shoji Kawamori, was part of the design team at Takara that designed Convoy (Optimus Prime).
Got briefly into some of the G1 toys when they were commemorative releases. Quite a few were reissued then, and I ended up with Optimus, Magnus, Rodimus, Hoist, Prowl, Preceptor, and Inferno. The diecast was still there, but even then the springs for the launchers were removed for whatever reason. Probably made them cheaper to reproduce/release. Also just bought the reissue of G1 Blaster from BBTS. As good as the Legacy one is love the iconic, and bulky design of the original. Shame he's only released with the weapon, and none of cassette bots. Still excited to own one though.
It was the incident with the Battlestar Galactica toys, mid-Production run. A little kid choked on a BSG missile. So BSG toys, made after mine, original Boba Fett, and G1 Transformers have missile restraints, and weakened or no springs…but I have Micronauts toys that fire far… very far… LOL Nice reissue haul, by the way. I did manage to get the (red) Hot Rod, Astrotrain, and Blaster reissues.
The original Battlestar Galactica toys missile incident changed missile-launching toys forever. I have Micronauts toys, that were Transforners prices, with same-size launchers/missiles, and those missiles fly…
Interesting as the Commemorative toys still had the same smaller missiles that just pegged into the weapons with the exception of G1 Optimus who had ridiculously long missiles. Speaking of impactful launchers owning the Outlaw from I think 86 M.A.S.K. fired one of two large hard rubber nosed rockets clear across the room given how big the canon was. Nobody I'm sure would choke on them but they would definitely leave a bruise if fired directly at a person.
As some one who bought the limited edition macross toy, it was indeed a bit poo. The first thing I noticed was it said this is not a toy on the box, and after a single transformation, I understand why. That thing is so delicate that after a single transformation, it almost felt like everything is about to break.
Revell had some transforming/parts-forming “ROBOTECH” Macross models, that were way too fragile, but advertised like “toys”…that you paint & glue…so fragile & so easy to lose parts…
@@LastBastian I did the same thing when I finally got one second-hand. The shoulder joints were just way too weak and one wrong move and it was gone. Now that I own a few generations worth of newer Valkyries, I've always been overly careful with them, even though they're much more robust than the original Takatoku/Bandai toys.
@@dangeorge809 Yep, it was that shoulder joint that busted on mine! Years ago I bought another G1 Jetfire and refurbished him a bit. I'm super careful with him, and my other 80's era Robotech/Macross bots!
Okay, so it's probably already been said, but g1 jetfire cannot be LEGALLY reissued. It's based off the takatoku toys 1/55 Macross Super valkyrie, or the Robotech Valkyrie fast pack, depending on your location Takatoku is owned by bandai and is the largest rival to Tomy., so that's a bust Hasbro was/still is hated by Harmony Gold, (HG sued HB because of the GI JOE Skyfire jet-stryker) mainly because Hasbro used that particular toy the year before Harmony Gold could, so yeah...
The Bandai no-gos also extend to the Autobot Deluxe Vehicles (Whirl and Roadbuster) and the Deluxe Insecticons. These were also designs that were acquired by Bandai from Takatoku and licensed to Hasbro. The Takatoku/Bandai Valkyries are 1/55.
This video inspired me to pick up a G1 Galvatron, I was looking on EBay, but ultimately decided against it. Flash forward to a few months later on a trip to Victoria, and I found one in decent condition for only $120 Canadian (the barrel tip was cracked though, but sounds still worked) It’s honestly become what I consider to be the crown jewel of my current collection. Thank you
9:59 I love that noise bro it sounds like the space kook’s laugh from scooby-doo I really liked all these G1 toys they look great galvatron has a great head sculpt
I got into it just as it was losing popularity from the original run - it was annoying the toy makers kept trying to reinvent it - I still wanted to get all the original ones but they were nowhere to be found!
recently i acquired a G1 Sandstorm, a grail of mine, and it’s actually still so good genuinely one of my favorite figures i’ve got in the past year even against some great legacy figures
Alot of parts of Jetfire are fragile. Most notably the hands as they lock in place when fully extended so alot of the times the hands break when you try to retract them. Also had the back of the neck break and one of the back wings
@@ManOfBullshit Oh wow! Yeah, I forgot how “razor-thin” the stabilizers were, to match that Valkyrie look and function. It always seemed like many parts were made to “grind”/press against each other. The hands would often jam on mine, and I would have to gently retract them.
G1's are what they are but simple and nostalgic in so many ways. I have picked up several last year and several reissues last year too. The G1's are legendary for G1 fans
I got a Jetfire from eBay last month. I still have my own original '86 Jetfire but that is quite yellow. One major difference on the one I bought recently (other than the almost completely white plastic!) is that the leg pivots swing in unison, which mine did not. Noticed on your transformation, yours also move in unison.
It’s cool that you got Motormaster. I finally got Breakdown and Dragstrip, to complete G1 Mena…wait, where’s his right foot part? Bah! OK, almost complete…
I've found that you can pretty easily reactivate the missile launcher, you just need to unscrew and shim it apart (it's glued in three pieces), then cut out two tabs and fit a pen spring. Took me a couple tries to find the right size spring but now it'll launch a good 3-4 feet.
The problem with re-issuing g1 jetfire and that a lot of people don’t know is that jetfire is created from the same mold as the VF-1S super Valkyrie from macross and macross if i remember is a harmony gold and big west/studio nue ip. So there’s a lot of legal problems. So unfortunately we will probably never get a re-issue of g1 jetfire
Yes, I have the originals of both, plus Siege Mirage and SS86 Blurr. Nice! I kind of wish Blurr still had wheels, but he always hovered anyhow… Mirage is awesome!
Long story sbort; clothes pin springs. I had a g1 Jetfire back in '99 careful took the shoulder apart and cut the spring to fit. Did the same thing for the red and green lions of the Voltron i had gotten around the same time. And they held up, in place, and had a nice click where there had been nothing.
It is good to see the younger people appreciating the g1 figures, however because they are approaching 40 years old, finding ones complete and or non broken "" original figures" are hard to find. Reissues are the the way to go. Some people do gravitate towards KO for the originals that will never be reissued which I am not greatly opposed to as long as they are marketed as KOs and not originals and have something on the figure indicating as such. 3D printing is a great way to help replace parts that were missing over the years as well. The Siege Jetfire was in my opinion better than the Masterpiece, unfortunately in the aftermarket you are now paying Masterpiece prices for him.

I have the latest Macross limited piece. It's gorgeous. I don't know where you heard it was poo... If it is, it's gilded and bronzed poo. A beautiful figure. I have the original edition of G1 Jetfire that still had the OG Macross logo on the wing. He is also a beautiful thing.

I have a handful of original G1 toys in my collection and I'd love to get more. But some of the prices I've seen are just ridiculous. I can usually justify spending $70-80 on a brand new studio series, but how can I justify $120 for a used, unboxed Sunstreaker? Plus another $135 if I want Sideswipe to go with him. Had some steals though. Got a G1 Prowl, Smokescreen & Mirage for $110 including shipping. No boxes or instructions for any of them. I also have 2 of the original G1 Constructicons, and as much as I'd love to complete that set, there's no way in all the hells that I can justify $298 for a chance of getting maybe decent ones.

G1 had parts all over the place some had no heads haha not naming names . I had all the figures you showed but motor master never seen him plus galvatron was one of the few new in box figure I ever got so had all of him
I got a g1 galvatron not too long ago for nothing bc it was yellowed a bit and missing everything but I got 3d printed parts and remade all the stickers and I love it. Also the sounds are bad think the electronics need work.
Start first with contact cleaner. You might be able to force some down around the buttons ( so you don’t have to take apart), and on the battery contacts. Bad contact can make sound circuits sound sickly.
Didn’t buy any Hound renditions yet - I like Siege Hound, though. I ended up getting Thrilling 30 Jetfire and TR Galvatron as G1 stand-ins, though I have an original Jetfire. The Revell Macross models were even more fragile I have an original G1 Motormaster… I think G1 Onslaught is the only semi bot, I don’t…no, wait, Octane, too. I’ve seen a 3D-printed prototype G1 Arcee - Hasbro could do it. Thrilling 30 Arcee is my current G1 Arcee, and she’s OK, but her ankles are very loose. I’m a “G0”-fan, because I came from Micronauts (need reissue?). Loved the Powerdasher reissues - I have them all. G1 has been fun, but I think reissues have bothered other-generation fans.
@@coffeeinhandproductions3238 ultra magnus has the longer missiles as well
Galvatron’s gun sound is a college dorm fire alarm that goes off at 2 AM cause someone 2 floors up was warming popcorn.
I got Jetfire (my dream toy) for my tenth birthday.
....I broke him ten minutes later. First time I tried to transform him. 😭😭😉
It's based off the takatoku toys 1/55 Macross Super valkyrie, or the Robotech Valkyrie fast pack, depending on your location
Takatoku is owned by bandai and is the largest rival to Tomy., so that's a bust
Hasbro was/still is hated by Harmony Gold, (HG sued HB because of the GI JOE Skyfire jet-stryker) mainly because Hasbro used that particular toy the year before Harmony Gold could, so yeah...
@@dangeorge809 that's correct
Thanks for the correction on scale
Pen spring can help fix up them non-firing missiles 😉
This video inspired me to pick up a G1 Galvatron, I was looking on EBay, but ultimately decided against it. Flash forward to a few months later on a trip to Victoria, and I found one in decent condition for only $120 Canadian (the barrel tip was cracked though, but sounds still worked) It’s honestly become what I consider to be the crown jewel of my current collection. Thank you
Personally, I want more Transmetal reissues.
Yes! Transmetal Megatron and optimal Optimus were my favorite beast wars toys!
9:59 I love that noise bro it sounds like the space kook’s laugh from scooby-doo I really liked all these G1 toys they look great galvatron has a great head sculpt
With Harmony Gold out of the picture on the Macross property, Jetfire should at Least be a consideration for Re-Issue!!!
That would be awesome!
5:33 that’s not Jetfire that’s the Valkyrie from Macross!!! Or Robotech here in the west
Satire?
…and that’s why I bought him…for both reasons…
I mean he is both.
I got into it just as it was losing popularity from the original run - it was annoying the toy makers kept trying to reinvent it - I still wanted to get all the original ones but they were nowhere to be found!
recently i acquired a G1 Sandstorm, a grail of mine, and it’s actually still so good
genuinely one of my favorite figures i’ve got in the past year even against some great legacy figures
All I want is an G1 Aerialbots/Superion gift set reissue.
I feel like I've heard that the original armor parts for G1 jetfire are pretty fragile too
Yes, and I believe the wings are, too, due to their thinness.
Idk why but I have this odd love for g1 jetfire’s toy, I just like the head, don’t know why, but I do
I would love for them to re-issue G1 star saber / Victory leo since it was a Japanese only toy.
They are reissued, but are expensive. That said, the playability and posability are insane on the reissues!
9:25 to be fair, I have the same reaction when someone touches my pp.
This is a robbery get on the … oh hey I had a g1 galvatron toy as well as a kid 😂
I never thought I'd see Parle G biscuits in a Transformers video. Real world meets RUclips world! Desi power lol!
I agree, blurr and mirage are a must
Yes, I have the originals of both, plus Siege Mirage and SS86 Blurr.
You know what would be neat? Missing Link releasing a brand-new G1 styled toy for Jetfire based on the finalized animation model.
Please show your dad eating more snacks
9:43 bro’s hanging out with Erector 😂
I'm giving you a like because I like your channel, but I don't like that you call out that these toys are older than you cause it makes me feel old. I don't like feeling old, but I love the young blood coming into the fandom. You're what keeps it goes and keeps it improving!
Also, my first statement is meant in jest. I'm just teasing. I know that doesn't always come across in text. :)
The reviews on ShowZ are not flattering.
@@UnChannelDuVulpineX I'm an internet rando but my review is highly positive 😂 mind you I have been collecting TF since the 80s so I do have standards, at least.
@@setaside2 ok
Honestly, there's no reason they can't at least reissue the combiner teams. We know thet have Bruticus, Piranacon, Devastator, and I believe Superion moulds.
i would love a g1 Sixshot and Roadbuster reissues
There's a KO G1 Devastator set at ShowZ, if that helps.
@@UnChannelDuVulpineX thanks, that's certainly a more manageable price.
I saw the memorial in King's. I didn't know it was gonna be there. I didn't know the guy, just followed his twitter, but it was a very touching tribute. Such a terrible loss
What happened???
I actually just got a BUNCH of g1 toys and actually love ultra magnus I’ve been looking for the commander class one and found the g1 ON shelf which is crazy!
9:30 I do the same noise when my peehpeeh is pressed
They only re-issue the molds they have. Most are lost.
Nice haul. Who’s the blue bot at 4:18?
Thats the fansproject motormaster
@@no-rm9wg thanks!!!
SKYfire is just a Macross toy with an Autobot logo lmao. It would be fitting if they did a movie Galvatron G1 toy considering how Legacy has his movie and G1 toy colors.
I have motor master I'm not a fan of his truck cab feet. so when I have him in ro ot mode I fold them all the way back against the back of his legs. he looks so much better. stands great, and is still tall enough to be taller then all other stunticons
Omg your dad's shirt is AMAZING!
I got a g1 jet fire. With a bunch of other stuff for 12 dollars and in great condition it’s not Evan yellow
I wish Takara still did reissues. They actually chromed them. And they had firing missiles!
Expensive is right, when it comes to these G1 toys. I was just lookin' for the Commemorative Series reissue of G1 Rodimus Prime...sweet mother of Primus, Unicron, and Gaea!! eBay is on the low end of MP9 level money for that!! (And MP9 is horribly priced as well...) I ain't tryna have to piece one together, who's to say that wouldn't be more expensive?
That noise you're hearing is called the 80s
He DID say he wanted the Galvatron on Comodim Cam.
g1 toys will always have a special place in my heart and soul excluding galvatron😒
The TR and Kingdom Galvatron are much better. Unfortunately TR Galvatron’s “helmet” gimmick is meh.
**car alarm sounds**
I still have all my G-1 toys in plastic bins many still with their original boxes and paperwork. I’m thinking of selling them.
I heard they will be remaking the 86 movie next June I'm pretty sure
Transformers One, not a remake but more of a backstory. I wish they would just resume production of Season 4 after The Rebirth
G1 had parts all over the place some had no heads haha not naming names . I had all the figures you showed but motor master never seen him plus galvatron was one of the few new in box figure I ever got so had all of him
I want the stunticons to reissue, not sure why Hasbro do it. Pretty sure they will sell.
We need Megatron as a gun, not a darned tank.
Hay what did you do with those transformers armada third party minicons because if you still have them i would like to see a video about them
They've reissued everyone you mentioned at the end of the video. Sans that Arcee of course.
4:17
What fig is that behind G1 motor master?
I would love love love a reissue of Raiden seeing as he never gets any love for a remake & would be an easy profit for them 😁😁😁
Hound looks like he's standing on a box.
Surprised you didn't mention that.
#CannotBeUnseen
I’m exited to get my hands on the Skywarp coming soon
2:40 I have that Long Haul!
They did G1 Astrotrain already
Bro, the old Jetfire is literally Robotech mechs.
I wish I could find my G1 Jetfire and Robotech toys.
1:30 are you going to let prowl have some?
I got a g1 galvatron not too long ago for nothing bc it was yellowed a bit and missing everything but I got 3d printed parts and remade all the stickers and I love it. Also the sounds are bad think the electronics need work.
Start first with contact cleaner. You might be able to force some down around the buttons ( so you don’t have to take apart), and on the battery contacts. Bad contact can make sound circuits sound sickly.
If they reissued Jetfire/Skyfire I would buy one. I had one as a kid in the 80s...but I painted him.😭
Didn’t buy any Hound renditions yet - I like Siege Hound, though. Also, Blockmen reissue? We need those…
Hound should be dark green.Jetfire must be one of the best looking g1. Looks like a masterpiece edition.
I would love to get my hands on a G1 Megatron, but I'm not spending eBay prices on him.
Get the Encore Megatron or Masterpiece MP36 KO edition
Up to my eyes in G1 need some other stuff for a change
Both my mom and dad had g1 megatron, Optimus, and my dad had jet fire, they both don’t know where they are >:(
We need is Superion!
