You're only source of oxygen is from your ship and buildings you build.
This is really making me want a Subnautica set in the very depths of the void. Imagine some of the massive submarine concepts like the Atlas being used to reach the deepest depths. Imagine what kinds of horrors you could find down there.
This shows you just how big the aurora actually is. When it's not next to anything to serve as reference, besides the seamoth, you really feel the 1km length
Imagine, your in your life pod and you decide to go out and explore the oceanic planet. You open up the pod hatch and... "WHAT IN THE HOLY MACARONI IS THIS" then suddenly a massive creature eats you. Fin.
But right before you hear a ×VERY LOUD DEAFENING SCREECH× that drops the base, then suddenly three large tendrils wisk past the top of your head. Soon afterwards three gigantic eyes as red as blood oil track you while you start to move, finally the Gargantuan leviathan reveals itself in full view before devouring you and your pod in one gulf...The End.
When you we're flying through the air with the seamoth, that kinda made sense cuz the motto is "The Seamoth, it goes anywhere but land." but in the real Subnautica you can't fly.

I keep forgetting how subnautica captures a true feel of horror so masterfully. Just the whole feel of being 10 000 meters underwater, devoid of any light. The aurora's surface slowly emerging from the eternal darkness as you get closer. It truly makes you feel so... uneasy. And I genuinely love it! Because no other game, even from the horror genre, makes you feel this way. That's one of the many reasons I adore this game. Also on the topic of the aurora emerging from darkness, the recent mods I've been seeing for this game give me hope that someday there will be a mod that brings a leviathan as massive, or say, even larger, than the aurora! I mean, just imagine! You're slowly going down the void, no ambient music, no sound, just... Quiet. And suddenly, a giant, monstrous face swallows your whole screen, with it's gigantic glowing eyes, making you feel this... Thing is bigger than the whole planet itself!! I would LOVE that!
You might need to add 10000 depth resist to everything, depending on how it's calculated, and add some sources of air (as well as giving a Base Starter Kit or fixing the lifepod in place), but this would be an interesting start. Don't forget to add random Ghost Leviathan spawns around the map!
I could see having the upper parts of the aurora still being filled with air, and having the lifepod act like the one in below zero, and just be anchored to the sea floor. Also, by upper parts, I mean anything above where water would have flooded in when the hull was breached. Oh, and made all the Degassi bases still be watertight. Just for the sake of a moment of respite.

3:50 “submechanophobia” is the fear of aversion to seeing man-made constructions submerged underwater. It may seem like a weird phobia, but it’s surprisingly common. I mean you instinctually noticed it here, which means you’re probably responding to the phobia a little bit. When you think about it, it kinda makes sense. I was playing subnautica while listening to your video and the destruction of aurora synced perfecly with my gameplay xD
Haha that’s amazing :)
The mariana trench is ~13 kilometers, I believe...
Close :) Google says 11,034 meters.
"If you have plated Subnautica before, then you might be aware that you can find water throughout the game."
Just in case some people didn't know ;)
7:44 something similar to this happened to me but with cyclops, I completely destroyed the game; my legs were stuck at the bridge couldn't even access PDA, items here glitching tru my hands and I was fazing trough the walls...
But it was kinda fun nevertheless
Yikes that's uncomfortable :)
Great video, keep up the clever ideas for the videos :)
Thank you kindly! :)
What a cursed image 3:41
Oh yeah, big time! :)
By simply changing a 1 to a 0 the game engine collapses or ur heart stops
Probably :)
4:05 it looks like they installed a fly system in the Seamoth
Yep :D Accurate!
technically according to the description of the seamoth blueprint it already has one
@@MrJager-ix6ex Really? I didn't knew that
finally a place to drive my cyclops freely
Haha perfect :)
This makes me want an explorable void in subnautica 3 even more. Imagine having that game’s version of the aurora/mercury 2 be sunk this deep. Traversing it in pitch darkness. Truly terrifying.
Right!! I'd love that too :)
1:17 and I've shit my pants
I'm right there with you :)
5:54 reminds me of these
These? :)
@@TheLastBacon these nuts
Subnautica except your lifepod landed in the void:
Accurate :D
Great content but this makes me feel incredibly uneasy
Thank you and same :)
7:17 "Ryley, please, what are you doing?"
Me: what? I'm not doing anything! 😂😂😂
Haha you sure you aren't? :)
@@TheLastBacon seriously! I didn't hack your game or anything... 😂😂😂
it would be so cool that if you went deep enough into the void like say 2000 mtr? witha cyclops or maybe 1500? your pda would say "i am detecting a leviathan class entity in the area size level UNKOWN" or your pda would say something that leads to something else being down there in the deep dark depths of subnautica
Yep! Pretty much what happens with the "Return of the Ancients" mod :)
Bro the way you awnser so many comments it impressive. It shows that you really care about your viewers and take time to read there comments. Earned a sub.
