Very well explained. Thanks. About the spray nozzles, you may consider to add the following: In large columns, liquid is sprayed by nozzles through pipes arranged like a spider. Liquid forms a cone shape while flowing down. There will be many spray cones. These cones must be overlapping with each other, so that the vapors coming from below must pass through the liquid spray. If there are no overlaps, the hot vapors can have free ride and can cause coking. At the periphery of the column , overlapping of spray may not be possible. Such locations are called Dead Zones. The percentage of Dead Zones is kept minimum. This aspect is considered while designing.

Sir great video can u tell how a control tray is decided for a distillation column and also how does that tray gurantees proper product specification .

Very informative video. Thank you so much sir. Can we reduce flooding i.e. maintain column to normal conditions by reducing reflux, condenser and reboiler duty? Also please clear how reflux drum T increases as we increase Reflux?
Depending upon condition if by increasing reflux fractionation getting worse.....then certainly reduce reflux to avoid flooding. However if Weeping/Dumping was taking place, in that case increasing reflux would be helpful. Overhead temp would increase if reboiler duty is fixed or if reboiler duty has been increased but top temp remain same. For overheard temperature think of LMTD. Delta T of both side.....if heat duty of condenser has been increased in that case LMTD must increase. Now condenser U/S side delta T has been increased (if top temp same) it means condenser d/S delta T sud decrease and hence overhead drum temp will increase. WRITE equation then only you will understand.
Sir coloum me jo down cumer ki hight hoti h o column ke sabhi trays ke liye same height hoti h ya different hoti h? Only down cumer me liquid ki height ke karan pressure change hoti h sir.
