    We used the forest on our property to source lumber from to build this massive communications tower. The purpose of the tower is mainly to hold our Starlink Internet Panel. Its about 20-22ft high, its coated in Australian Timber Oil made by Cabot, and was torched to help close the wood cells to protect it from the elements and bugs.

      lol, well it’s not bad. None of the work was hard only the weather really was the factor in this job. Temps were around 90 with extreme humidity

    hello from the Netherlands .
    could you use the tower for other things?
    like something under the satellite platform? .
    I think the satellite platform would also be a nice place for a 360-degree pen and tilt webcam
    to look far around you and to keep an eye on forest fires around you, for example .
    Happy New Year and hope to see you again in 2023
    thanks for the video .
    Sincerely Hollandduck

    Oh my gosh. Sooo cool. I’m gonna try to build something similar on my rooftop. Any advice for how to stabilize the legs without cement? Since they’re angled outwards, they won’t be flush with the ground.

    All that just for an internet antenna? I would be doing some star gazing.

    • @SmokyMountainOutpost
      @SmokyMountainOutpost  11 месяцев назад

      Yes, although star gazing could be something that is done. It is super high tho! Thanks for following! -Jennifer
      Also, Starlink requires an open air view of the sky and with all the trees around the property, building high was smartest.

    Did you know that I used to clean houses, well I had to quite because I was tempted to steal, but as you know the Bible says, Thou Shall Not Steal! But it didn’t say not to swap!

      This is a full build for those who don’t regularly watch our content and for those who are new. It’s a pretty daunting task to ask someone to catch up on 450+ videos lol.

  • @coreywarren8305

    Don't know if this is the video you wanted to launch?? But I thought we were building the shed cover for the tractors??

    • @SmokyMountainOutpost
      @SmokyMountainOutpost  Год назад

      Hey Corey! We are still building it, it will be shown this next week. Occasionally some setbacks occur where we can’t film enough footage to make a video for the week.
      We also wanted to start putting full builds out for those who aren’t regular viewers and those who are new. It helps those folks not feel so overwhelmed about catching up on the 450 videos we have already put out lol. There would be no way for most people to know what exactly we have built and accomplished on the property, especially if they are just tuning into a regular weekly video. We have very few complete “start to finish” type of videos which really helps give others context to what’s going on around here.

    Is this a replay of your satellite tower construction?

    • @SmokyMountainOutpost
      @SmokyMountainOutpost  Год назад +2

      Not necessarily. This is a full build from
      Start to finish for those who are new and those who don’t regularly watch our programs. This 11min video sums up what happened months ago over the course of 9 videos. It can be a daunting task to ask people to catch up on 450+ videos 😂

      Hey Martin! This is a full build from start to finish. This is the first time we have ever shown any repeated material that I can remember. And it was made for those who are new to our channel and also not regular viewers. It would be audacious for us to ask someone to catch up on 450+ videos we have put out. With this video out it gives those a chance to see everything in one video versus 9 separate videos that also include other material that’s unrelated to the build. It also gives my dad more time to put together our regular weekly content. We understand that we can not please everyone. Although we certainly wish we could :/
      We are doing the best we can to provide to our regular viewers, as well as establish with some new folks too.
      If you haven’t seen all of our videos I invite you to take a look through our playlists or our video selection on our channel. If you haven’t yet viewed our Outpost Review channel, I would encourage you to check that out as well. If you have already seen all of our videos, then thank you so much for all your support and for following along with our journey. 🙏
      -Patrick
