One thing to add, if you're a Grenade Kit Engineer or something else with a lot of ground targeting where speed is more important than precision, definitely go with 'instant' over 'fast with range indicator' ground targeting. If you have issues with knowing where you cursor is (which shouldn't be the case if you're throwing 'nades all the time, look at some cursor add-ons), I think that's just a MUST for Grenade Engi's.
So ive been playing on and off for many many years...going back to the launch. Jesus how did i not know all of this camera stuff. And the targeting?!? my goodness thanks for this video.
Great guide, thanks! I learned a lot. One thing though, "Adjust Camera to Character Height" on or off depends on your race as you'll wanna have it boxed on an asura but not on a norn (for example) 🙂
"Lock Ground Target at Maximum Skill Range" should ALWAYS be enabled in my opinion. I would not be able to play the game without that option enabled. It should be enabled by default
I prefer to have ground targeting to instant and snap ground target to current target to make these skills work more like Guild Wars 1 and other MMO's.
Hey thanks for the video!, i've been struggling targeting enemies and im not sure how to correct the enemies most of the time, i disabled autotargeting (thanks god) and i added "nearest target" to my hotkeys which sometimes is not that great. do you recommend instead of using nearest target just target manually or is there another way to have an easy access to targetting? thanks for reading!
Nearest target is definitely the way I would go too. You can also do another keybind for "Next target" if you want to go really overboard. I personally use Nearest Target and click with my mouse if needed for someone very specific.

Oh that should help, thank you!
So helpful :D
Thanks for this going in now to tweak :D3
some of the featured settings are defaults now since the August 2, 2022 patch
Yes!
I was really excited to see them finally change some of those horrible defaults that used to be.

I’m curious about how you always have an enemy targeted. When I click to target I often target friendly players instead
I use a keybind to target enemies, no need for clicking with your mouse 👍
You forgot the sound setting, put player instrument volume to 0. HAHAHAHAHA
nah, effect lod off so you dont get hit by stuff that doesnt render
