-----------------------
Fat Joe spoke to VladTV about moving to Miami after Cam'ron dissed Nas, explaining that he had enough of the disrespect between New York rappers. Joe pointed out that things changed between New Yorkers when big money contracts were being offered, adding that everyone "rushed to be an asshole."
During the conversation, Fat Joe spoke about urging DJ Khaled to keep his publishing for "All I Do Is Win," which didn't end up happening, and he added that he tells Khaled that he can't come around now unless he brings his son Asahd. To hear more, hit the above clip. Развлечения

@Beverly Huttinger That's what most people do when they've lived and have memories. I've watched many of interviews on non New Yorker's that speak about their history as well. Why must you attempt to tell a blatant lie about speaking on history only being a New York thing?
Is fat Joe white?
Bay Area and Houston cats been on the independent music game for decades...

@@verdes25 Yes
IRON5 facts. Most of the smart Cali rappers sign with each other.
H-Town on another level with that independent game !
New York rappers used to always diss each other, I really think the increase in level of disrespect began with 50 Cent. He really broke down the unity in NY and had a lot of artist not wanting to collaborate with certain artists for fear of him catching feelings and retaliating. Couple that with NY's decline in popularity around that time...
"Divide & Conquer.''
50 cent always in a rush to be a successful ass hole he was and still is bad for hip hop the man is a narcissist
50 got shot 9 times and then everyone started slandering him about it. If anything, blame Ja Rule and Irv Gotti for making that into a another Biggie and Pac situation and also burning bridges in the industry by bulling people
I was born and raised in Bklyn NY and was around during the height of NY hip hop in the 90's. There was a lot of unity and also a lot of competition. The competition really started when Biggie started calling himself the king of New York. Then when Jay-Z came along not to many other rappers liked him. They all felt that Jay was corny accept Biggie. Nas, Raekwon, Method Man, DMX and few others were really respected for their skills on the mic. Jay manage to climb to the top because of his work ethic and consistency.
50 and Jay. But in this instance when you're talking about Cam and Nas it goes without saying Jay's influence on that.

I don't think people really understand the importance of owning your masters & publishing. If you own those and make good music with good amount of people listening to your music/watching your videos on different platforms, doing shows, collaborating with other artists to get more exposure, owning your own label and even getting a hit record or two will keep you wealthy forever. You don't need a record label in 2018 unless its for a distribution deal and its worked in your favor so you're still making good profits. Sir Mix A Lot has made over $100 million dollars off of the one song Baby Got Back alone because he owned his Masters and Publishing
I knew you was going to use sir mix a lot..... which let me know you didn't know until sir mix a lot said so..
Joe and Remy gonna eat well off All The Way Up for a while because that song is still being used today by Mountain Dew. Can't imagine it won't pop up again in the near future
Dj Paul took that advice as well

So much respect to the mature grown up Fat Joe. 🙌🏽
Which diss track was Fat Joe talking about that Cam dissed Nas on?
NY hip hop fell off because the gatekeepers, Jay and Diddy, refused to put on local talent and make stars out of them. They instead used them as street cred or muscle. Baby, Master P, Trick Daddy, Scarface, T.I., Ludacris, Rick Ross, Lil Jon, Jeezy, Gucci and Yo Gotti all put on other people from their cities or someone who was on the come up. Most of them then did their best to make sure their artist succeeds and taught them to repeat the process.
Andre macklin g-dep, mase, loon, Biggie, and I’m sure it’s others I’m missing that Puff signed. And Jay might not of had a lot of NY rappers on the Roc besides Bleek but it was filled with Philly rappers who still east coast
Andre macklin NY didnt fall off. Yall stop having a monopoly. No one dominates rap like that anymore people still say Atlanta runs hip hop with a Canadian as the biggest guy. The top 3 might not be from NY or the Atl. Thats old ways of thinking.
RBG RBG diddy used those dudes to revitalize Bad Boys. Jay threw Bleek at Nas and State Prop at D-Block. They left all them high and dry once they served their purpose.
Jet Blvck No doubt I personally feel like Cali has the best talent in hip hop at the moment. I like the beast coast rappers too but they don't get a lot of main stream exposure.
Andre macklin cool. I just had to say that because ny has cardi, french, asap mob, nicki, a boogie and and hov, fat joe still running around not many not many cities have that much talents hitting radio if u even still listen. Its get annoying hearing ny complaining just because people realized there talent other places than just there. Think about whos popping they are from everywhere. Meek, big sean, kendrick, cole, drake, chance, migos,
I just spent the entire 7 minutes wondering which one shines the brightest, his chain or his forehead

Joe slept on to me straight legend
We need another Fat Joe and Eminem collaboration. Speaking of which, why is it that rappers who have been around for a long time and respect one another don't make collaborations happen that often, if at all. I have some examples in mind, and if anyone is curious I can list them.

Battle rap is the essence of hip hop. The disconnect happened when dudes started taking that ish serious. After true battle rap contests, the rappers show respect afterwards. The big labels drove that beef real hard and had their artists saying stuff you just aren't supposed to say. That's what he was saying about Cam'ron. Everybody knew he wasn't about that life he was rapping. He got some real live goons to hang out with him and that's when he started talking reckless
I remember long ago meeting Fat Joe at Raptivity Records or Source going into the elevator with 2 of his dudes and I'm like this guy here. He kept his eye on me like I should recognize him. But I remained quiet due to those days in 90s where tempers fly. Peace
I was on video music box hosting with ralph McDaniel interviewed joe on fordham rd Bx real shit im 40 now
Dope live from brooknam
blinding me with that chain
I tried listening to this interview but got sidetracked looking at his chain lol
While lack of unity is one of the reasons East coast fell off I think when battle rap blew up, that helped destroy mainstream East Coast rap because before Smack and K-Dot got big, rappers from the East coast would battle , but they also focused on learning how to make songs and getting a deal because battle rap wasn't really paying back in the day but now a rapper can make a career out of battling and I think that took a lot of the East Coast's spitters focus away from learning how to make songs because they didn't have to learn anymore because battle rapping became big. Labels also had a hand in it too, only focusing on southern rappers
yeah I agree w/that.
That’s a big reach homeboy
The streets don't run the radio anymore, the clubs do. That's when it started to change. Street shit don't sell or it just aint profitable anymore. Its about the women now. Whatever they think is poppin it what sells. Pac called it.
Drip Jay How? Almost all of the Hottest NY rappers from the 80's 90's early 2000's started out battling that's how they got their names out there but when they got discovered by producers, A&R's etc, those people knew that while the rappers could spit, they would have to learn how to make songs Biggie was a dope ass battle rapper, but Diddy showed how to make a hit.
David Scott There were club hits back in the day too, Jay, Nas, Biggie Pac all of them had club hits and had the street bangers . When Battle rap became a career, that's when the bullshit that's on the radio now took over.
Such great wisdom.
I love listening to joes stories.
My kids never cried as babies either. They were always happy and smiling. If a baby is crying it's because they have a need for something. That's their way of communicating, don't ignore them please. They are at our mercy, figure out what they need. We're not rich either. They were rich with love.

Nah NY never setup a new wave of younger rappers to keep it going...everyone else did.
not. the industry pushed real music out because its liberating. the industry allowed these Jack ass rappers in. No talent and dont say nothing.
Thank 50cent for new york rappers gettin at each other, i mean we battled each other since the 80s but never tried to put each other out of business or said personal things it was just all about the sport of battling and who had the best lyrics back then!!
