- In this video, I will show you how to make tibetan cheese soup. Churu is a tibetan cheese soup made with few simple ingredients. Although similar to the more common known western broccoli cheese soup, it's much less creamy and fatty. In my opinion, it's also much more delicious. This is a tibetan specialty dish that you must absolutely try!

Ingredients for 4 people:
230g cheese
2 liter water
1 handful glass noodles
150g beef
2 tsp salt
dried chili peppers
1 beef bouillon cube
2 tablespoons flour
Thue and chura and churul all are my favourite

We have some nice mouldy cheese in England, so I might try one of those; they are easier to get hold of than Gorgonzola.

I love churu..my almost every immediate relatives love it. It’s very popular in Tibetan living in Bhutan specially among lhoka people in Bhutan . It’s hard to get the exact same taste with west cheese 🧀. May be I will try with blue cheese like u said 😊😊 thx for taking me back to lots of old memories .

Thank you for this delicious soup recipe... Very authentic tibetan dish I must say... could u name other alternative cheese ( that still retains the original taste) we can use for us living in Nepal? BTW loved the way you had the soup with 'pa'
Thanks! I heard Tiger cheese in Nepal is good for churu. However, I encourage you to experiment with the choice of your cheese. Traditionally, we use rather smelly cheese to give the soup a kick. Softer cheese dissolves easier while harder cheese might clump up a bit, so keep that in mind.
Thank you.. we have yak cheese but that hardens when boiled . So will have to look around for some soft cheese as u suggested
