I found this piece when my father was first diagnosed with a very rare cancer. I watched it every single day. It gave me hope.
My father passed on yesterday and welcomed the winds to carry him hence. The battle of his body, done and over.
I will search for him everywhere and in everything. Because of this amazing poem, my heart knows peace now.
    thank you.

My grandfather passed away this morning. I believe that your poem not only comes from your heart, but it tells the stories that we wish our hearts could. I will never forget my grandpa, I will always love him, and I will look for him.

Michael Lee is a genius. His words don't fall on my ears, they settle into a much deeper place. His words are not words, but rhythms that pulse with symphonic brilliance . . . stirring up emotions and moods in a profound way that only the most gifted artists are capable of.

9 years later I'm still coming back to this poem. I lost my Dad last summer and I still feel him everywhere. We used to take the ferry to Vancouver Island when we were kids and jump into the wind. When I rode it back to the mainland after his funeral it was the windiest I'd seen in decades. Thank you, Michael.

9 years later, and I still want to say Thank You. This poem will live in my heart rent free until the day my gust of wind joins those who have passed on.

On the day my husband died, I walked to the shop where his colleagues worked to let them know. They had received this video from a mutual friend and they were wondering why they had received it. When they heard about my husband, they knew and so did I. We grieved together and felt inspired by the words shared here. A healing message.

Today, on the birthday of a dear friend lost.
Only months after her wind left her body's heart.
I youtubed the words, "slam poem about loss"
Yours was the first I clicked on.
    Yours the one I needed.
    Thanks.

I can't begin to describe how much of an impact this video made on me.
For 8 long, agonizing years, I've wondered why my cousin left so young, 20, just married, an artist, a lover, a dreamer, and a trailblazer. She left me, a child with bright eyes, and a bigger emotional gap than I'd received from anyone else in passing. In watching this, and experiencing it's message, I realize Nicole never left me at all, she's been here all along.
Thank you for helping me see that, Michael.

There is power here, there is passion here-there are words woven together with a streak of brilliance that is so inspiring!
And part of that inspiration is - while his words are beautiful and clear, there are other dimensions of magic he is beautifully expressing, categories of reality which we cannot quite grasp our minds around while we are locked in the confines of the ever so limited boundaries of our human consciousness!
