Great progress 👍 as for structural supports, ladder sounds okay but what if you cross brace top to bottom X bracing but use a thick wall tube for the center of the X like a driveshaft shaft. This would tie the frame tight but also cage the shaft incase of failure. Pm me on fb if you want better explanation of what I'm thinking. I've been thinking of using this on the 8ft horse as in testing I've found significant frame roll under heavy torque loads and hard launches. Thumbs 👍 on video
Ran the cross bracing model through FEA as well. Not a fan of the all the work needed to do that. There is an extra spread frame that is being utilized for all the bracing needs for the ladder style frame, which by the way is the second lightest model. The box frame using aluminum plate is the lightest.
Cool an older guy like me doing this stuff lol. Does anyone know how much I can speed up one of the older craftsman 3 speed hi lo transmission without tearing it up too fast?
I hear you Mack, briefly though the Maximus update is waiting on the drive line to be completed. Maximus is at a point where an accurate length can now be had for the drive shaft.
@@MrStudabaker awesome to hear Mr.Studabaker an recently found ur channel an I like the content an trial riding an I'm looking into a mower soon an maybe we can ride if u made a trip to WV
@@mackwilliams6518 well thank you, mowers are indeed a blast to motor around on. Glad to see you making moves to get into this hobby. I'm always down in that area. Build yourself a beast and see where this goes.
I took my atv lawn mower out on Saginaw River studded tires my brother took his Honda 300 ex atv with chains he had problems and I didn't drove past him if you would like to see my mower c
Great video can't wait to see this thing in action
You and I both. Serious tire spin or bust.
Amazing video dude i can't wait to see it in action really love how detailed these videos are
Thank you sir.
Awesome video! Great details!
Down and dirty baby.
Maximus is going to be a beast love it buddy
Thanks Ronald, I'm putting all the eggs in this basket 🧺.
Crazy how much flex is in the frame! Rusty was about like that prior to bracing
I know right, I'm ok with some twisty but this is crazy bad.
Awesome it’s getting closer every time
Yes sir trying my best. So looking forward to having another off road tractor in the fold.
Interested in the clutch set up for sure.
Me too, all most ready to pull the trigger on one.
Nice job. I need a few tips on my cub 128 rig.
Than you, maybe you will see a few more in this series build.

I know what you mean by the weak frame cub cadet has but I'm trying to stiffen up the frame on my 482 cub cadet that I'm building has a plow tractor
Amen brother, been pulling my hair out for a long time over just how to take the twist out.
I have a Vogel many spine that I am putting in my tractor that is going to be about 60 horsepower pulling tractor I would look into them if I were you
Agreed they are on the call list. The mini three disk spline is a beast.
How do u make the drive shaft style mowers faster?
Lots of rpms say 6500 of them with 28" tires.

Retirement at its best.
I'm sure anyone knows but she's not saying a word. If it's a 633a it's one tough amigo, just don't run 26.12.12 Mamba lights.
@@MrStudabaker lol. I don't know, it's a big one lol. I got 3 out of craftsman ll's and a Gilson with a 3 speed but no hi lo
