28:20 Gondians are the followers of Gond, the god of crafts, smithing, etc. (He is often worshipped by gnomes, but not exclusively by gnomes.) 36:53 I don't know if it is still an issue or not, but I have heard of some sequencing issues if you progress into Baldur's Gate proper without witnessing the coronation in Wyrm's Rock. 57:38 Lore-wise the tadpole is the new Mind Flayer, the host is just its first meal. (Though there is a lot of debate online as to whether or not that is actually true in BG3, or how much of the old rules apply to these magically altered tadpoles.) In most cases the only connection between the host and the emergent Mind Flayer is a few vague recollections of the host's life.
that's a weird bug i remember ignoring the checkpoint and going to wyrm's crossing through the other path and the gnomes didn't even bring it up that bombing never happened in my play through which is kind of exciting to see ngl.
My goodness Welonz, the make up 😂 Jahera must be wonderering how this silly monk had enough game to get entangled romantically with 4 companions (Lae'zel, Shadowheart, Gale and we haven't forgotten you can bite me tonight Astarion)
I think there's an intentional grey area on wether you are still yourself after the ceremophosis. On the one hand, you are most certainly different than you were before. Additionally, the mind flayer of the mill was under the Absolute's influence (and we know that rogue illithids are very rare). But on the other hand the Emperor seems to believe that he was and is still the adventurer he was. We don't know how much of Omeluum's personality was lost.
I just love it when Wulbren says that the Gondians would have been willing to even work with Sarevok back in the day. He probably forgot that willingly working for Sarevok is the exaxt reason the Ironhand Gnomes were thrown out of Baldur's Gate. Our innocent boy Barcus really deserves so much better.
There’s no wrong order to do things in. It’s hard to do everything BG3 has to offer in one run, so just enjoy what you can. You can always play again in your own time, maybe a dark urge run.
Welonz might I suggest you go to camp before you progress the story too far? There are a lot of things happening there that I fear may go away if you don’t check in more often with your companions.
You don't become a Mindflayer. The tadpole does. It's a larvae, and the gray matter is its magically powerful nutrient. BG3 frames much differently than how it canonically is.
31:10 I wouldn’t blame the game for messing up the flow, it’s kinda amazing how you somehow bypassed the checkpoint and stumbled into the gnome hideout 😂 But yeah act 3 can be quite buggy, I had to ditch a playthrough because of a progression bug
Mind Flayers have the memories of their vessels, and that's it.
Not even that. They rarely have more than a few vague recollections of their host's life.
depends on the DM, like many other things
Ancillary Justice style. Messed up.

You've gotta be squidding me.
You also get a unique scene if Karlach and Wyll is with you at the checkpoint.

Thanks for always going above and beyond.
it's been months since I watched, but I can't believe I caught up on this series haha. Now I gotta wait >:(

Mindflayers do not have souls.
Lmao, Scratch is such a good boy he can use a ladder apparently
Your comment reminded me of when people were panic buying toilet paper during the pandemic.
The thumbnail & the title made me think you were doing the deeds with the emperor 😹😹
Hey anything can happen
not the steel watcher otakus

Hope everyone's doing well today
