I never adored a game that much before. What you can see about CDPR is that they love their projects. Their game directors are full nerds just like us... that's easy recognizable in those REDstreams when f.e. So yeah, it's not just new scan functions for color schemes and coloring, but there is also a new background story about how Kiroshi worked together with other companies within the lore so they created these new functions... and those stories exist for literally evertyhing in this game and may it be yet so small. For me CP2077 is the best RPG experience in my 20+ years of gaming (I'm 34 now) - not only the franchise, gameplay / world / story etc. but also the insanely great modding-community and the thousands and thousands of crazy mods for this game (I even learned 5 different new tools to create my own mod projects... didn't even learn that many tools for Skyrim modding back then). I honestly can't wait for Cyberpunk 2 and the second anime. But even if Cyberpunk 2 Orion won't come before 2027/28, one playthrough per year in CP2077 and ongoing mod projects are easily worth the time in my eyes and I also totally love other games like Elden Ring, Kingdom Come Deliverance, Starfield, Witcher 3, STALKER (2 / Gamma), Sekiro etc. - but Cyberpunk we always be something very special to me.
I doubt CDPR developed these features just for Cyberpunk 2077. I'm willing to bet that these are features they are currently developing for the sequel, and are adding them retroactively to 2077 to pad out the game. Either way, my hat is off to CDPR for doing as much as they have to redeem 2077.

Its soooo worth it Get phantom liberty too, one of the best expansions ever made. Great Story, the music is literally perfect and really diverse in tone, and gameplay is also really good now.
Just missing a new game + feature a 3rd person mode and cyberware/limb customization I still find it weird that we see NPCs and characters with chrome arms and legs but we can't do that with our character
The last two options i want to see is a 3rd person camera, and different body types akin to all the npcs you see, like super jacked v for your body build, a super gangly and skeletal v for high cyberwear/netrunner and a +size v for people that happen to want that. In terms of a 3rd person camera breaking immersion, just make it an eye cyberwear option, i don't use the second eye slot for anything so using the slot for some kinda micro drone plugin just feels right.
I also don’t care about photo mode. But it’s cool to see they still new features in this game. I still hope there is a 3rd person view mode as we spent so much time to design the character, it’s a bit odd to see how we look only from a mirror…
Apparently they didn’t have stragglers hang behind. They primarily outsourced the update to contract developer Virtuos. I wonder if they’ll continue with this going forward. Seems like they’re happy to have the American team focus on Orion, the Poland team focus on Witcher, but they want to keep the love for 2077 going. Maybe not a bad move since it will probably be 5+ years until a new Cyberpunk game is ready.
I was threatening to start a fourth playthrough for weeks now. This is just the incentive I needed. Loved collecting cars and this game was the first game I EVER used photo mode (extensively) in. Thanks, CDPR!
I've been in love with this game since launch and I was on PS4 pro. It played surprisingly very well. So this patch out of the blue caught me off guard but its so amazing. Wow... thank you CDPR. giving us this patch with great quality of life stuff on the 4 year mark since it launched.
For me personally, there are two games that feel very similar when I start them after a couple of months: WATCH_DOGS and Cyberpunk 2077. Every time I load a game and just start moving about, my first reaction is, man I want *more* of this. Not a new game, just something little extra more in that giant, awesome world the developers built. Sadly, I don't get this for WATCH_DOGS... but CDPR love CP2077 and I understand why they don't let go just yet.
Genuinely surprised at the continued support. On the other hand the game is still running strong on the player and purchase count. It has been since the Edgerunners anime. On the other hand the modders must be at the point of tearing their hair out but it's a happy problem to have haha. Not dived into Night City for over a year and it may soon be time to reinstall. Tbh though that is now down to the quality of mods increasing available, not this update.
CP77 has gone from being a bad joke to something of a cult classic with a large fanbase that still loves the game years after its launch. The game is currently peaking at 40k daily on Steam alone, which is a huge success story. That's helping to restore the faith of fans in their future products, which is exactly where CDPR need to be right now, and I hope they maintain that effort.
This only happens when a developer makes there game to be played for generations. Like Skyrim, gta 5, witcher 3, BG3, cyberpunk. These games are made to played for generations. Unlike the games that are made to make profits and move on when bugs are fixed. Ubisoft and EA are the gace of modern developer working to make profits as the only goal.
The only thing they need to add that they promised and failed to deliver since release is new game +. Where is that feature? This is absolutely the game that would benefit the most from that.
I just find the world soulless. The city is too quiet people just aimlessly walk about. I want to see people chatting, using phones, getting in and out of taxis, shopping, loitering just more realistic human interactions with NPCs. The story is great but the world is missing something.
Good to have more updates but customization options are pointless if we don't have 3rd person mode and don't care about photo mode. I can generate cyberpunk images as good as this game or better with AI so the novelty of photo mode is gone.
So glad this is the company that is still working with the Witcher stuff. I love the Witcher and I haven’t even finished 2 or played 3. Just read books and played 1. Lol
Just started a new play through, can’t help it, still love this game. I just wish now it had more immersion with food and health. With all the food stalls, vendors and vending machines, it’d be nice to have all those items be more meaningful. I’m sure PC mods handle that but us lowly console players can only dream.
Virtuos Games should be handling the patches and updates for Cyberpunk moving forward with Pawel acting as an Liasson. I'm certain more updates will come later down the line.
I agree about seeing our character but i dont think 3rd person is the way to go. It would be better to stay first person and add more reflective surfaces like smooth metal, mirrors, car glass,etc..
I have thoroughly enjoyed watching this absolute redemption arc for CDPR. Cyberpunk went from being a massive let down, to being one of my favorite rpgs of all time
Man, I wouldn't be surprised if they drop another expansion and if they do that you know I'm going to buy that day one and it better get game of the year at the game awards
So... I recently got Phantom Liberty and started my second playthrough since the launch of Cyberpunk 2077 and was bummed that not all cars were customizable. Guess the devs that still work on the game have been feeling the same.
I don't get the argument that you need first person to be immersive. Are people actually pretending they're in the game? Have a good character and you enjoy following them along. I don't need to pretend I'm a netrunner or Witcher to thoroughly enjoy a game and get sucked into the world. First person has a very restrictive view and your arm postition is all jacked up. How is that immersion? It's all I think about when playing first person. I enjoy my peripheral vision over looking at the world through a couple toilet paper tubes
So much respect to CDPR. I hope Bethesda is forced to watch all of this. They will never be able to do this with Starfield. They have no grit or vision.

I’m surprised to hear that’s there a support studio working on updates and that they tease more to come. I’m very curious now
Went from trying this game for 30 mins and dropping it at release to 250+ hrs easy after updates. Props to CDPR! Witcher 4 let's go!!!
Photo mode is a great way to see your character in third person
Too bad there still isnt a 3rd person mode while roaming the city, I think it would make it so much better.
Dude shuddup nobody wants to use photomode in place of actual third person gameplay stop with the cope mindset
man.... I REALLY HOPE they give us a 3rd person option for certain scenes like combat or moments like walking in the areas.
Third person V model looks horrible while walking around, sneaking, and fighting. They can’t really change that either because of the engine.
This is dream-come-true for most players, but a nightmare for modded players 😂
Seeing the treatment of cyberpunk makes me unbelievably excited for whatever cyberpunk game is in the work rn
Matty: I don't care about photo mode at all
Also Matty: I only see my character in the menus
The algorithm recommended this video to me. Nicely done update video. Much appreciated!
Correct me if I'm wrong.... but didn't mods already put everything CDPR did with 2.2
Omg, Edgerunners is a genuine masterpiece. I cannot WAIT for the next season
I also don’t care about photo mode. But it’s cool to see they still new features in this game. I still hope there is a 3rd person view mode as we spent so much time to design the character, it’s a bit odd to see how we look only from a mirror…
4:23 Funny, that is the feature I'm most excited about ^^
Could you imagine reaching EdgeRunner status and finding your own gwent card.
CDPR's ark has been amazing and the love they've shown for Cyberpunk gives me so much hope for the new Witcher as well as their other new IPs.
I would love a 3rd person mode. Maybe they could implement it in a way that it puts your back in 1st person when getting in a conversation
Give us johnnys arm!
BG3 and Cyberpunk are the games I’ve been playing most in 2024. This is great!
Aw cmon matty i was already enjoying my annual playthrough of the Mass effect trilogy why you gotta remind me to download Cyberpunk again.
I wouldn't mind if this game became the new "Skyrim" that gets love and attention for the next 15 years lol
I think players would be thrilled to have cosmetic cyberware. Let them look like Lizzy Wizzy or go full borg if they want.
They were saying you would be able to enter any building you see before the game release. Everyone forgot about that.
As I'm starting another playthough, im blessed
its so funny, i reinstall the game yesterday because i had an urge to roam around the city...i didnt know there was an update. how good timing!
It wasn't "stragglers" that did the 2.2. It was a separate company called Virtuous that did the work.
The photo drone cam was so necessary. But also ng+ come on dog
The story is great but the world is missing something.
well, to be fair, they said "they" wouldn't do updates for the game. they didn't say they wouldn't hire someone else to do that for them.
Matty covering news from most other open world devs: 🙂
Matty covering news from Bethesda: ☹️
Loved this game so much and had almost no expectations going into it. Happy I waited until Phantom Liberty to play it.
Good to have more updates but customization options are pointless if we don't have 3rd person mode and don't care about photo mode. I can generate cyberpunk images as good as this game or better with AI so the novelty of photo mode is gone.
Glad I thought to look at the comments before wasting my time installing this first person trash.
So glad this is the company that is still working with the Witcher stuff. I love the Witcher and I haven’t even finished 2 or played 3. Just read books and played 1. Lol
My god man play 3!!
Witcher 3 is the only game that made me read the source material after I played it
Funnily enough i just started a new playthrough and im falling in love all over again
I love Cyberpunk man, I hope CDPR has all the success in the world with everything they do. Perfect example of how a studio should operate.
The update to Cyberpunk 2077 that is needed is coop play.
Just started a new play through, can’t help it, still love this game. I just wish now it had more immersion with food and health. With all the food stalls, vendors and vending machines, it’d be nice to have all those items be more meaningful. I’m sure PC mods handle that but us lowly console players can only dream.
I just really want a decent happy ending for my V. Lordy I hope they do that.
A happy end? For folks like us? Wrong city, wrong people
Virtuos Games should be handling the patches and updates for Cyberpunk moving forward with Pawel acting as an Liasson.
Cyberpunk went from being a massive let down, to being one of my favorite rpgs of all time
I spent so much time playing Trauma Drama and Roach Race. I wanted more arcade cabinets to be playable.
The only thing I'm sad not to see at least yet is official mod support.
Third person view option is a big deal. Next best thing would be realistic shadows and reflection of our character.
Photomode is HUGE in the modding scene.
I always believed they would get here. Love to see it. Sucks they had to push out the launch product and catch the flak just to please shareholders
The update was ok but Redkit is what I want the most for the game
