  • During our trip to sunny beach we spent some time visiting an ancient UNESCO world heritage city...Nessebar, Bulgaria. A truly incredible travel destination and the perfect blend of seaside & ancient history. Nessebar on the black sea coast is actually a living breathing museum and a mind blowing unesco heritage site that has shared history with the ancient Thracians, Greeks, Romans, Ottomans and Bulgarian empires.
    You really have to see it to believe it! We are constantly shocked by how epic Bulgarian history is. A truly underrated country in Europe.

    You’re right Bulgaria needs more marketing! I live in Birmingham for the last 5 years today I’m moving back to Bulgaria, I can’t wait to be surrounded by nature & history. I must say your city (Brum) it’s amazing and gave me so much nice memories, but maaaan can’t compare to anything in Bulgaria.

    Born is Sofia and currently living there but 1st to 4th grade i used to go to school in the new town of Nessebar and i've been many times to the old town and it's beautiful even more so out of summer season when mots of the tourists are gone because later in the day there are way too many people there. It just feels refreshing and for some reason you feel safe and happy by just being there.

    If you like city Museums you can also visit Pliska the first capital of Bulgaria, there you can find the great Basilica, Cyrilic Yard . Then close to it is the Goldren Church in Preslav and 30 min ride from it is the Madara Horesman also UNESCO protected place which on top has ruins from a castle from 3rd or 5th century. From there you can go to the 1300 years Monument of Bulgaria(Called by foreigners Transformers if you go there you will see why ) which is 10 min car ride and then you can visit the old town which is again ruins of a castle , btw if the Biserna cave is open you should visit it because it has an amazing lights show. Then close to them is the only desert in Europe " Pobitite Kamani" 30 -45 car ride. Please check this places online and let me know what you think. I never understood why our Government refused to promote this places on TV commercials that they pay for on Foreign TV Stations but promote Sunny Beach as if history tourism doesn't exhist such a horrible marketing strategy. One example Romania promotes that it they are deriving from the great Dacians, while our Governments refuses to promote that we come also from the Thracians which is mind blowing considering the history connected with them.

    Normally Nessabar is swarming with people in summer but not this year. Nessabar is def. better with fewer people around. I used to like it more when I was a child, as I felt it was more authentic. Now they built a lot of houses that strayed from the original design. It is a very special place, though. As is Sozopol, which you should absolutely visit as well.

    If Bulgaria would charge 20euros for stuff then I wouldn't want to live here anymore. It would be just like every other European country and I like Bulgaria (for the most part) just the way it is :)

    Джамал, когато догодина отново посетиш Стария Несебър, непременно намери коктейл бар "При Майкъл", който се намира на ул. „Хан Аспарух“ 7а. Привечер атмосферата там е невероятна. ;)

    Jamal. As you become more Bulgarian, picking up the language, accent and adapting do you also feel like you lose a bit of your English? Slang a specially!
    I used to live in Spain, had a Spanish girlfriend and picked up the accent. It was very weird when I came back to the UK and forgot many slang words that are used daily.
    Also let's not market Bulgaria to much. I want the prices to stay cheap 😄

    • @ChadandJamal
      @ChadandJamal  4 года назад +2

      Somewhat however I guess that I'd remember it all if I spent some time with Brits again. I've noticed my accent change though especially the rolling R which I accidentally use when speaking English now haha. Thanks for the comment!

    • @ritchiebaxter627
      @ritchiebaxter627 4 года назад +2

      @@ChadandJamal haha. I did the same with the R rolling the tounge. Strange and interesting feeling to lose your native tounge and accent. No better way to learn the language then to have a girlfriend from Bulgaria. Good luck. I'll wait for more of your uploads. Peace
