      I read his book….. “putting out of your mind” and now after being a scratch golfer since I was 17 for 20 years now I always putt looking at the hole 🕳️ 👀. Every putt on my RUclips channel just playing practicing or in a match was looking at the hole. 😊

    Great vlog thanks.
    My putting tip: In my pre put routine, if i have say a 20 foot put, i go back to 40 ft and focus only on the cup. I stare at it. Then i hold that as I walk up to 20 ft to put. As im walking up, the hole is getting bigger.
    So whatever length of put, I use this method. Been doing it for years and im not a bad putter. Cheers. Brendon

    For someone who has been struggling big time on the greens, this has been the perfect vlog for me. All ten tips, I need to work on! My big thing is fear, I have OCD and literally do everything wrong. Change grips, stroke, etc etc, no routine, the list goes on. Bottom line is, the golf course isn't my sanctuary and I love the game. Going to take all points on board and start again. I don't want to feel scared anymore, I know I can learn to trust my instincts, this has been a wonderful helping hand

    I always struggled pulling putts left. The best tip for me was from Martin Hall on the Golf Channel, and it related to your left shoulder during the stroke. Martin's tip was: "Left shoulder up, in the cup. Left shoulder around, still on the ground." Moving your left shoulder up during the follow through kept my putts on line. This kept me from "turning" my shoulder to the left after impact and thus kept the putt on my intended target line. 👍⛳

      Another thing to f pulling putts is tuck your right elbow in a bit more towards your belly. Check out with practice. See if that works for you.

    I like this psychology trick from a Rotella book - if you miss a few putts early have the mindset that statistically you're more likely to hole putts over the rest of the round, and so you can feel more confident. And then, as a self-contradictory piece of psychological gymnastics, if you make a few putts early, frame that as you've got your eye in and are on form so you can be confident that you're more likely to hole upcoming putts for the rest of your round.

      I LOVE this tip from Dr. Bob. He has something with the driving range - if you hit it good on the range, you'll hit it good on the course. If you hit it bad on the range, you're saving it for the course. Love it!

    My routine is using the Plumb bob technique, it effectively gives me the confidence to commit to a read or line with confidence as it for me seems fairly accurate and then I can trust the ball that's lined up with absolute commitment just judging pace

      It's the older PXG Operator - kinda looks like Batman designed it. Recently switched to the PXG One and Done as it's a little smaller and like the alignment more. PXG has some great putters and love the weighted ports for adjustability. Hope that helps - any q's let me know.

    The best putting advice I’ve gotten is to get addicted to the sound of the ball hitting the bottom of the cup. Finish every putt on the course so you reinforce that sound. Putting practice is only 2-6 foot putts. Ones I should make nearly 100%. Anything longer, I stick a tee in the ground and hit it close. That way I’m not ingraining the thought of being ok with a “miss”, even if it’s 30 feet. 👍🏻🏌🏻‍♂️

    I'll take my lag from 25 feet and leave a 2 foot putt, than get to the hole and have a 6 foot come backer every single time.

    • @wickedsmartgolf
      @wickedsmartgolf  9 месяцев назад

      Yeah to clarify I don't think it's about try to jam every putt i the hole. It's about having the mindset that I'm going to try and make everything so that when you do miss it's better than trying to "lag it up" into a circle and end up with 3,4,5 footers all day
