reading is supposed to be fun and if youre pressuring yourself and not having the best time and all that then i think you should just ditch the tracking and the tbr and the reading bullet journal and just read on a whim
Good luck in year 12. I didn't read for months, I am finding time during uni as it is a good way to relax. Good luck with studying and make sure to spend time on your own wellbeing x
I don’t know about Dracula because I have never read it, but Frankenstein is an amazing classic. Reading the poem the Rime of the Ancient Mariner before reading Frankenstein makes for an amazing read. Mary Shelley’s descriptions and writing style literally gives u chills while reading it!!!
Not many vampires in books that I like but The Circle Trilogy and the ones in Shadowhunter books are a top fav! I lean more towards movies Underworld, Blade, Queen of the Damned, The Lost Boys, and Hotel Transylvania! 😃
Chloe Neil and Karen Chance write my favorite vampires. If you haven't read the Cassie Palmer books you should--they're set in Vegas! The Dorina Bassarab series goes along with it and I love that series, too.
House of Night by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast is an AMAZING vampire series, I highly recommend and it’s so underrated, I never hear booktubers talk about it
Yeah I looked up the synopsis for the following few and I didn't feel like I was into them anymore. I couldn't bring myself to finish the sixth one. But I might give them another go and see how I feel.
Ooooh. Now I'm even more intrigued because I've never read a Renee Adhieh book. Even though I have the Wrath and the Dawn duology and the Beautiful. Definitely interested in hearing your thoughts on the Beautiful to see if I should make it my first Renee book or exchange it instead for the Wrath and the Dawn. I think my favourite representative of vampires has to be the vampires and the lore in the Blade comic books. OMG!! Now I can see where you got your artist's skill from. Yours and your mum's paintings were gorgeous!!!
I mean classics are important because they’ve inspired so many books but that doesn’t mean they’re good or that we have to enjoy them. I don’t like them and that makes me feel stupid but honestly I just read books I enjoy and try to not force myself to read something that makes me feel bored or more like an obligation. Also don’t exhaust yourself, we obviously love your videos but don’t overwork yourself to the point you’re sick of making and editing videos. Take it easy!
My favorite vampire series of all time is an adult series by LA Banks. Her vampire huntress series. She started a YA spinoff but unfortunately she passed away shortly after book 1 was released.
I enjoyed Little Monsters more than most people but both audiobook narrators are favorites of mine so I think that helped. We have one of those painting places where I live and I never go because I'm terrible at art and I don't want to be the only one with a bad painting 😂
One of my all time favorite trilogy is "Dead Beautiful" by Yvonne woon highly recommend!! Itll give you those vampy vibes but it's not a vampire story...if that makes sense lol
Both you and your mom's paintings turned out so great & really pretty too 😊 Love your reading vlogs Brittany, and I hope you can do more Bujo spread videos as well😊 P.S. You don't have to put so much pressure on yourself for finishing a read-a-thon. Like others have said, reading is supposed to be fun & relaxing. I wouldn't stress out about it too much though. Keep up the great work!
Vampires are the best! The vamps in Buffy are probably my favorite but I’ve been underwhelmed by the graphic novels. If you want a good vampire book read the sookie stackhouse series. Eric Northman is life lol. The ending of the series was blah but overall the series was entertaining and an easy read.
My GOD if you love vampire books the best one in my opinion ar least (well actually its literally the best youknow but anyway) is the blood of eden series by Julie Kagawa! Plsss its amazing i cried i laughed it made me actually angry, the main character was me and i was the main character, it made such an impact on me and my personality and i learned so much. I really truly think you will love it. Like actually. Because you seem to like badass female characters with swords with funny sarcastical side characters and a heartwrenching lovestory. Its so underrated and underapreciated it deserves some love.
I had a whole course on vampire literature last semester, where everyone got assigned one book to read and analyze. I got I am Legend by Richard Matheson and I was so surpirsed by how much I enjoyed it. It's wayyy better than the movie with Will Smith and even tho it definitely has its flaws and is kinda weird at times I loved the way it discussed what makes a person a monster. I could honestly go on forever lol, so I totally recommend I am Legend! Even if the vampires in it are more like zombies, but still
I remember wanting to read Dracula so bad but I stopped because it was just so boring and dragging. There is a really good movie adaptation you should check out! Bram Stoler's Dracula A really good vampire book series is Cirque du freak by Darren Shan. It's middle grade but really spooky and scary!
@@MemberOFscalkof I'm starting the zom-b series next year and I never seem to be able to get my hands on a copy of the city series! Demonata is my longstanding favourite though!
@@fayealexandria9036 I reread the Zom-B series at the beginning of this year. I bought the City trilogy used on amazon for a couple bucks per book. I really have to reread the Demonata. I only read it once and don't remember that much of it. The Cirque du Freak series is my favorite, probably due to nostalgia
Dracula is one of my favorite books of all time. But I read it for the first time (and the few next times) in college. It’s amazing for a book to read in a well taught English class. It’s awesome to dissect and theorize about. I can completely see how it’s not a book that would be good to read for just fun/reading unfortunately though. :/
Love this vlog. Your painting is gorgeous 😍 Also I recommend a series called the Solis Invicti series by Josie Jaffrey, the first is A Bargain In Silver. And its one of my favourite vampire series of all time. Josie is a UK author, I'm not sure if her books are for sale on US amazon or in the US but she sells them on her website. I can always send a set over if you're interested in them. 😁❤️
I totally get you on the meh reads. I'm reading Wilder Girls and it's just not doing it for me yet. Luckily I'm also reading Imaginary Friend and I am so obsessed with it! It's super long so its taking me awhile to read, so with that and the draggy WG I might not read as much as I thought this month. But I've already finished 3 other books and one of them was a 5 star (Ninth House) so that's a plus! Not about quantity but about quality and all that jazz lol
Do you know if the darkdawn mug is dishwasher and or microwave safe? I bought it on ebay and it doesn't say anything on the box and I'm too anxtious to ask illumicrate ^^' YAY to more vlogs

I had no idea it was a vampire story. But the synopsis just sounded soo good and interesting... but maybe I'll wait a little longer to pick it up to look at more reviews 1st.
I had to read Dracula for my 11th grade English class during the summer before and I just found myself liking it but also not liking it. I think that if I were to read it again for fun I feel like I would like it a lot more.
Shadow and Bone is the prequel and though you *technically* don't need to read it first, I would! Six of Crows is definitely better though! I actually am planning something on this series soon so 👀
Reading and listening are two different disciplines. And Remember with the classics it’s not a race to see how fast you can read it. Take your time, slowly digest it. Also try Les Miserables. You’ll love it Well worth your time. The Count of Monte Cristo. Graham Greens” A burnt out case”. And as for Dracula well I don’t blame you on tour opinion. I didn’t care for it at all.
reading is supposed to be fun and if youre pressuring yourself and not having the best time and all that then i think you should just ditch the tracking and the tbr and the reading bullet journal and just read on a whim
My favourite vampire series is Vampire Academy cause it was such a different concept and because of all the character development that happened!
I’m in grade 11 and I’m fully packed with homework. I don’t have time for books anymore, honestly respect ✊🏽 you’ve come this far
Imagine what its like for a senior.

I'm excited for when Jay Kristoff releases his vampire books! I think I'll probably love how dark his take is on it
Yes! I love his writing and how dark it can be, i'm excited.

I loved the first five and DNF'd six. Does it pick up again?
Yes Faye it does. There's 12 books in the whole series not including the "extended series" they came out with the last couple of years
Yeah I looked up the synopsis for the following few and I didn't feel like I was into them anymore. I couldn't bring myself to finish the sixth one. But I might give them another go and see how I feel.
My favorite vampire series is and always will be The House of Night Series. I'm hoping itll become a tv show someday♡
Ooo what's it about
Favorite vampire stories hands down is The Black Dagger Brotherhood by J.R. Ward !!! I would love for you to dive into into that world!!!!

my favorite vampires are a tie between the house of night series and the casquette girls series (which also features witches)
That reading nook looks so amazingly comfortable 💗💗
I enjoyed the vampires in Discovery of Witches.

Anne Rice vampires will always be the best to me. Have you read any of her books?
My favourite vampire book series is The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa, they're so underrated!
I was about to comment the same thing! I looooove The Blood of Eden series :')

I'm also very sorry to hear about your dog. He was such a cute doggo
Vampire diaries and sookie stackhouse vampires I loved
Vampires I love are Anne Rice's and the darren shan & larten crepsley sagas!! 😍 Darren Shan is one of my all time fave authors!
Loving the daily vlogs! Thank you for doing them, it must take a lot of time and effort ❤️
Also, vampire diary vampires all the way 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Buffy the Vampire Slayer vampires are my favorite.
Vampire Academy is the best vampire story 🖤🖤🖤 (at least in my opinion)
Omg I loved that painting meeting thingy! That looked sooo hyggeligt! (hello, I'm a Dane)
I felt the exact same about Dracula! I read it 2 or 3 years ago in October and it just fell flat for me
I remember wanting to read Dracula so bad but I stopped because it was just so boring and dragging. There is a really good movie adaptation you should check out! Bram Stoler's Dracula
A really good vampire book series is Cirque du freak by Darren Shan. It's middle grade but really spooky and scary!

The Argeneau Series by Lynsay Sands and the Dark-Hunter series by Sherrilyn Kenyon ate good "vampire"books.
Vampire diaries all the way🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻!! But twilight also holds a place in my heart ❤️
I got my owlcrate and I so loved it!!

House of Night Series by p.c. & Kristin cast
did you watch the full series of the vampire diaries? ive gotten to season 6 and its SUCH a drag right now but i am so determined to finish it.. do you have thoughts??
Kayla Trutt i only liked it till the end of season six. The last like. Three episodes cary that season though😂 season 7 and 8 were unnecessary imo.
@@Emma-pv5pz thank u for this info!! it helps to know im not the only one who feels this way :D

Yessss!
Havs you seen the Dracula film with Gary Oldman? It stays pretty true to the book but it's more entertaining. Much more
Surprisingly down among the sticks and bones
Earlyyy😁😁 I love you so much Brittany!! ❤️❤️❤️
