I totally LOVED my Main Coon cat, Bandit. Smartest, most lovable, inquisitive and playful cat I ever knew - and we had calls / words / communications between us. Yeah, they shed long hair. Get used to it. It's worth the love of this animal.
There’s a lot of overlap in the “10” reasons. They’re big. They’re fluffy. They’re very social. All of these traits have some overhead, but they’re also the reasons we like them so much.
We love our Main Coon, he is so intelligent, cuddly and funny, and he’s very close to our other lovely little rescue Tuxedo cat. They love each other to bits even tho they are nothing alike. We are so Blessed to have them both.😻😺
I guess this proves that it is possible to say negative things about even the most majestic, beautiful things on earth... Some people just have too much free time...
It is good to give people honest talk about MC, they aren’t for everyone. Just like Siberian Husky dog brees is not for everyone to have. People need to know what they are getting into and opt out if they aren’t up to the job. It is the best thing for the cat, instead of having someone getting one and then not being able to properly take care of its needs or even get rid of it and it ending up bouncing around homes or even homeless. They are amazing, I had one once and want so much to get one again but I know how much job and responsibility they are. And it is also a cost issue, like healthproblems and feeding and more expensive scratchposts etc.
Wouldn’t have any other cat. I know they aren’t for everyone but I will trade the brushing, vacuuming etc for the sweet, social, funny, loving, playful personality.
Yes to most of the above, except the space thing. I've had 2 Maine Coons, a domestic shorthaired cat and a Gordon Setter in a small, 1 bedroom apartment and they all did fine. It depends on the individual.
I'm glad to hear that, because it was the space thing that was making me think twice, but I also thought that it might be fine aslong as you were there for it and kept it occupied.
Excellent point! ALL animals are high maintenance! Lol I adore my Maine Coon and probably wouldn’t have gotten him had I saw this video first! He’s 9 years old now and never regretted it one day! ♥️
OK, is this supposed to be toungue-in-cheek? These "reasons" for not owning a Coonie are silly and ridiculous. The author doesn't know Coonies very well, at all.
All you've done is mention positives, aside from the space thing which isn't really an issue. Most of the people I know who own Maine Coons do so in apartments/small condos with no issue. Maybe it's a myth based on their size or something, but they're seemingly no less tolerant than any other breed of cat.
@timothymartin2137 So maybe you should look up the kind of temperatures they usually get in Rwanda. How would you like to wear a thick fur coat in extreme heat???? I'm sure you can understand how unbearable that would be
They poop on themselves when they're kittens, step in it and track it around the house leaving little poop paw prints. I had to hose mine down a few times to get the poop out of his tail fur 😬 also mine thinks my domestic cat is a toy he can play with, MC are almost better off with dogs than domestic cats because of their high energy, size and playfulness
All you gotta do is give them a quick shave once in awhile and it's not an issue anymore. Had to do that to a couple non-Maine longhairs, it's a thing.
Buster is one of the cats featured in this video. Buster is the red male seen sitting in the small plastic box at 0:26 ,,, and he is one of the best arguments for having a Maine Coon. Such a sweetheart.
I appreciate your perspective! Maine Coons definitely have their unique charm and personality. Every cat has its own quirks, and it’s great to hear you’ve had a sweet experience!
I'm getting my first Maine Coon on the 31st. I CAN'T WAIT!
Sounds good. Male or female?
@@allcats8017 A female.
Please update this post about your new MC!
@Joe_Musashi I will if I remember.

Bandit sounds like a wonderful companion! It’s amazing how much personality Maine Coons have. Their love truly makes the shedding worth it!
They are the most beautiful, sweet and entertaining cats!
There’s a lot of overlap in the “10” reasons. They’re big. They’re fluffy. They’re very social. All of these traits have some overhead, but they’re also the reasons we like them so much.
Absolutely true, Thank you

This is all accurate, nothing negative, better that people who aren't willing to put in the time not get a MC than end up with an unhappy MC

It's great to hear about your experience with pets in a small apartment. Every pet is unique indeed!
@@allcats8017I had mine for 20 years. We had lots of hair vet, bills and grooming, but it was all worth it.
I'm glad to hear that, because it was the space thing that was making me think twice, but I also thought that it might be fine aslong as you were there for it and kept it occupied.
How many different times are you going to say the same thing? We get it, ALL ANIMALS are high maintenance

Sounds like a Maine Coon Cat is a warmup to having a Husky (which are half cat). And the more Husky's, the merrier!
I have heard nothing but good things about them.
They are the best cat to have The Best

Let's talk about it please, what are some reasons you totally disagree with?

I brushed my MC every day!!!! (He loved it) He still made nits that needed to be shaved off.
Absolutly worth it !
I love my MC and zinger one.
Sounds Good
Too late. I already did. Now what?
Mine could barely meow let alone make any other sounds.
Im still getting one nothing will change my mind
05:02 Who is the horrible person, who is hurting this cat, back there?
Not really hurting the cat, think trying to care for the cat instead
I saw the vid, don't worry, the owner of cat just doing a massage for her cat
Also i think if cat didn't like it, he would just run away =0
I so love them but there's no where I can find to adopt one in rwanda
Have you tried reaching out to local shelters or rescue organizations in Rwanda?
I think Rwanda would be too hot for them
So maybe you should look up the temperature they usually get@timothymartin2137

Nice video ❤
Thank you so much for watching!
Did the owner of "Uncle Buster" give you permission to use his image???
Yes, I reached out to the owner beforehand to make sure everything was in order. Transparency is key!

Stealing thumbnails is wild 🤦🏻♂️
I have to get myself a Maine Coon Cat 😺😅!
♥️♥️
They are the best!
So really you mean 7 reasons as you mention 3 of them again only worded differently.
Hi Buster!
Hello! Thanks for stopping by!
Buster is one of the cats featured in this video.
Buster is the red male seen sitting in the small plastic box at 0:26 ,,, and he is one of the best arguments for having a Maine Coon. Such a sweetheart.
It not fur its kitty glitter. Most of these reasons would be for any breed of animal.
I see your point! All animals come with their unique challenges.
Says the hooman that doesn’t Think in the box.
Thanks for your comment!
Wow a lot of bulll. Sweetest cat the love cuddles. The narrator is complaining about what comes up with all cats ..sheesh
I appreciate your perspective! Maine Coons definitely have their unique charm and personality. Every cat has its own quirks, and it’s great to hear you’ve had a sweet experience!
Imagine having a Husky. Or a Rottweiller.
