Favorite trivia for this movie is that the actors for the main characters were absolutely wasted and it’s why a good majority of the scenes everyone looks so damn sweaty
This movie absolutely slaps if you go into it not wanting it to be a Mario movie. Once you accept its Mario adjacent and kinda just does it’s own thing, it becomes way way more fun.
@@markofthewolvessucks8930Because Miyamoto is not a movie critic. He is not going to sit down and give mathematical reasons of why some movie is bad or overrated. I think the reason they chose Daisy over Peach in this might be because at this point in time her English name was Princess Toadstool, which i guess would've given away that she isn't from the human world (assuming if they had Peach in here she would've fulfilled Daisy's role)
Speaking honestly as someone in their late 30s who's seen the movie many times and even more internet videos covering it...I'm genuinely shocked Alax noticed things not I or anyone else I know did! Cyberplumber 2077 is looking great so far! Fun fact: This movie was the first time Luigi and Daisy were ever seen in a romantic relationship. If there’s one thing good about this movie, it’s that.
Well, even that I'm not sure if you can actually fully credit to this movie. You could say Luigi and Princess Daisy were implied romantically in both the manual art and title screen for NES Open Tournament Golf, where she's Luigi's caddie (Peach is Mario's caddie) and Daisy has her arms on Luigi's shoulders, and this game was released 2 years before the SMB movie.
I saw this in theaters twice when it came out, I loved it that much. As a "Mario" movie per say, it's not that great, but it does have a charm all its own and is very much watchable even today. I put this movie in the same category as Hocus Pocus, not just because they both came out that same summer and were critically panned while eventually becoming cult favs, but there's a certain charm to them and you can tell the actors are doing their best given the material. Bob Hoskins as Mario is basically doing Eddie Valiant if he fell off the wagon again, and it's hilarious!

I have an obsession with this film, I don't even like it ironically, I really think it's one of the craziest film productions of the time, taking a simple ip and going absolutely batshit with it, and I think if it had been marketed as any other film, it would be considered today as a hidden cyberpunk gem
To be an early April Fools video, it just makes me think that both this movie and the movie that Illumination will make are going to be equally atrocious.
