Greetings and welcome to the bottom of the description. I'm Alax, more legally known as Alex Carducci. I make design analysis videos on fictional stuff I really like. Most of this time this centralizes on video games I love like Super Smash Bros., Super Mario, Persona, or Sonic the Hedgehog. I studied design and communications, so I find it fascinating how technology and culture shapes the media in our lives and how we perceive it. My channel aims to look into the history and development of these topics in depth so we can all find the truth as to why things are made the way they are. Also, there's a talking cat.

See, Yick is actually not bad because it's *completely* horrible. Lots of stuff, like the game's aesthetic, the voice acting, and a couple of the game's scenes were conceptualized _and_ executed well. Not only that, but the game also has several _really_ interesting concepts that could make the game very enjoyable.
The thing is, *_they were executed horribly._*
I could go on and on and on with examples of things Yick intended to do and failed miserably, but I don't want to write an essay, so I'll go with just one.
The main character is supposed to be a jerk, and progressively realize how bad of a person he's being and redeem himself as the plot advances. It's the origin of the _actually ridiculous_ "Dude! Nobody cares about your dead sister!" line that got paraphrased by that previous comment.
It's a cool concept, right? Redemption arcs seem to only happen to rivals or teammates these days.
*But there's no redemption arc.* Alex does *NOT* get better throughout the entire game. He continues being a jerk up until the very end, and unless you hack into the scrapped ending from the game's files, he continues being a jerk _throughout_ the very end, too.
Well, it's still a pretty cool concept if you put effort into it. The jerk wins the final battle, still a jerk, and it ends up it wasn't worth it at all because it was a hollow victory and nobody likes him even though he saved the world. Fate coming back around for some karmic retribution.
*Nope! No karma around here!* Alex (still a major douchebag) just saves the entire world, gets the good ending, and that's it. The end.
I mean, sure, you can still make that work! A grim, gritty amoral ending, where the guy who doesn't care about anyone wins, and gets away with it. It could make for a pretty good nihilistic ending that leaves you wondering if it's ever worth it to fight when the bad guys win anyway, and to boot, it also fits the theme of the game (being about Y2K and all)! It's a pretty brave choice, fitting for a self-proclaimed post-modern RPG!
*Hahahahahaha, no, he's still treated like a good guy.*
Also, the game's default ending forces you through a passive-aggressive snide comment about the devs' previously failed game, which is actually referenced so many times in the game itself up to that point, too (including through voice-acting. Alex name-drops it himself).
Captain Vetter so basically, the game makes shooting your self in the balls seem more enjoyable than playing it. Even Toby Fox working on the ost could not salvage the absolute abomination that is this game.

Fusion I read it as "10rd" "X" being the roman numeral for 10.
A shame you didn't talk about the mind-blowing fact about Dragon Quest logos : every even numbered entries' logo are blue and every odd one's are red.

The second largest franchise representation in Smash is Mario with 9. Pokemon is the largest with 10. Fire Emblem has 8
Pokémon trainer is 1 character
That's just counting characters however. Mario has more content overall than Pokemon, even if you count Pokemon Trainer as 3 different characters (and a background prop lol).
Because Mario has more costumes, overall spirits, and especially music. It's relatively close but still.
Fire Emblem is a baby compared to the two of them there tho lol. People just rip on it because it gets characters when the rest of its content is not all that big at all.
@Darling Vexa Art Well, that too, but characters aren't everything really. Prior to Gareg Mach, FE's only stage that was an actual location was Arena Ferox, meaning in total half of their stages are generic (granted Pokemon also has two generic stages of their own too but eehh they at least had other more actual locations… PLENTY of those as well).
And then there's spirits, music, and other additional content. … Need I say more, lol.

The Mariokart DS logo is what happens when Nintendo tries to be *overly edgy*
No wonder Mario Kart titles felt less appealing. The Wii Menu makes me feel like I'm looking at a gallery from an Apple Computer than an actual video game console.

I remember hearing that the reason of the change was because Miyamoto saw Double Dash as waaaay too childish for Mario’s standards or something, so he decided to make the following entries more visually serious, while maintaining the Mario appeal

Star The Clone Wars Wars is how Star Wars: The Clone Wars presented its logo for the first six seasons, and I am very glad they changed it for the seventh season. It had a video game in 2008 with the same confusing logo, so I feel like that makes it somewhat relevant to this video.

To their credit, the logo is unmistakable.
So can we just talk about how the S _O_ NIC logo has had the "O" tilted since the first game even though he can't spindash in that one? Also the S _O_ NIC head in S _O_ NIC Her(sonichead)es? (known in Japan as ソニック ヒー[sonichead]ーズ)
