Like the cup of water, the car's interior design being similiar to the Trueno's, Itsuki and takumi standing on the sidelines, the eurobeat with retarded lyrics, and going as far as copying the way Takumi beats one of his opponents on those same hairpin curves as the Akina track.

(Spoilers for first stage here) Takumi should NOT have beaten Ryosuke. Great race and fantastic hype, but he should have been more difficult and should have been beaten after Takumi got his new engine, in my opinion. How did Takumi beat the literal best racer in Gunma and then struggle with random people in 4th stage.

The best part is that the tacho is pointing around 6-7k, which means she's probably in 1st gear with that speed XD (and yet she downshifts 2 gears perfectly)
I think it is a Kei car. Those cars have some of the more interesting engines. They are limited in displacement (around 0.66 CC), horsepower (around 64 hp), and dimensions but that's it. I think the engine is an inline 3, with a redline in the 9k RPM range (basically a motorcycle engine)
I like how I've randomly been suggested and ignored this video for 10+ years and, after watching it for the first time on a whim, I *now* see why it keeps getting recommended
you know 64hp is actually not bad for a car that only weighs 650kg, ad to that a driver who is insane enough and a track that is difficult enough and you can bet your ass that most stronger cars will give up before you do.

The real magic is that she was going at that speed with first gear, And then switches to third from first. First gear that goes at 40 km/h. This car possibly goes faster than sound at fourth and warp speed at 5th. I need this car.
Hmm, the Lucky Star crew knew what they were putting in there as far as the Initial D parody is concerned. From what I've read, the RX-R variant was actually entered in the 1993 WRC Safari Rally as the "Vivio Super KK." One of those cars were driven by the late Colin McRae on his Safari Rally debut! Technically, what Yui is driving is an actual rally car. And, yes, not only it's supercharged, it could also be 4WD.

How can a Subaru Vivio RX-R, with a 60hp supercharged 660cc engine overtake a Mazda RX-7 FD with a 250hp turbocharged Wankel? Either animes defy logic or that Vivio actually has the engine from a WRX STi.
That could be it, but I still struggle to see how a 60hp hatchback can keep up with an RX-7. Unless that RX-7 had no intention of racing and just went at 40kph.
