SUB TO PEWDIEPIE Because America has historically made higher education like law school inaccessible to non-white students and especially *female non-white students.* The fact that these young women worked their asses off to get in Columbia Law is worth celebrating.
johnnyXXX As someone who is also a women and striving lawyer, I don’t see why race should be included. I myself am also part of this “minority” group but, I’d like to be thanked for my efforts, not because I am part of this minority group. I didn’t choose my skin color, but I did choose to strive to be a lawyer. That’s what should be appreciated. There are also many leading factors as to why these minority groups are scarce in law firms.
Ilovlies xoxo You not black, dumbass. Always non-blacks speaking on racial issues that don’t affect them to the same degree that it affects us. Just shut the fuck up.
Im really upset to hear you dont wear your natural hair to work because of corporate America. No ones hair is inherently unprofessinal. Please dont let these unethical "professional" standards control the way you look. You are beautiful! Wear your natural God given hair proudly!
im currently studying law and your video just gave me a boost of confidence in my choice. also, seeing 2 powerful women like you become lawyers makes me so happy :)
Mohammed AlSubaie you don’t understand what it takes for a black woman or man to get there in todays society. Sadly because of the racism so many black educated people is jobless because of their skin color so saying that she made it is crazy but in a good way. It’s a way of saying how proud we are of her.
Hi!! If you're still interested in the interview process (and tips) to getting a summer associate position, I made several videos on that topic if you want to come check them out! :) @associatetribe
Hi, Denise! Just in case you're still interested in the interview process (and tips) to getting a summer associate position, I made several videos on that topic if you want to come check them out! :) @associatetribe
I love y'all y'all have giving me so much information and so much knowledge that I have killed law school thus far and currently going through OCI for my 2L summer associate position at a big law firm in New York and y'all are just awesome
Megan seemed so cool! I really want to get into Harvard Law too! Do you guys still stay in touch? You should put her in another video so y'all can compare Harvard and Columbia!
She is! And yep we're still in touch. We're going to request to be office mates when we start full time in the fall. And that's a great idea! She lives in Boston, but whenever she's in New York I'll ask her.
Hi!! If you're interested in learning more about the Big Law world (and advice for maneuvering it), I make video on all those topics -- come check them out! :) @associatetribe
I knew you looked familiar but I couldn’t remember where I met you. It’s the Ron Brown Program at Saint Johns. Then I was at Bloomberg for the NYC Diversity fellowship workshop, and you were one of the speakers. All the best in 3L year!
These are some very smart young people! I pray the Good Lord leads their hearts. Career must be given to Jesus Christ, from Whom all joy and peace proceeds !!! Best wishes, MA
I am a UK Solicitor and I wear my natural hair to work. It will be discriminatory if anyone dares to say anything about my hair. All the best in all you do.
Hi, Ayhme! If you're interested in the interview process (and tips) to getting a summer associate position, I made several videos on that topic if you want to come check them out! :) @associatetribe
I'm envious of people with a view. I have my own office but I have no windows. I'm watching different people's day in the life at their work place because I'm missing going to work. :(
I’m hooked and subscribed! Just found out I want to become a lawyer and Columbia is one of my top schools that I want to apply to! Anndddddd I surely want to prescribe in New York! Can’t wait to binge these videos! I truly found a clutch channel 👏🏾👏🏾 also CONGRATS to you both!!!
1Ls are usually paid the same as 2Ls, and we are all paid market. 0Ls (SEOS lol) may be paid less, but they are still well-paid. Most 1Ls have a public interest job between their 1L summer. At our school, they provide a stipend for those students. However, Angel and I worked in the private sector. Angel worked at a different firm, and I was in-house. - Sam
I can't choose between business and law and college is very soon but ur video helped alot my only question and I know it's a bit oo general but do lawyers have meetings too or just desk work the entire time?
Hi, Joey! If you're interested in checking out more videos on law school, law firms, and being a lawyer in general, I make videos on all that stuff -- come check them out! :) @associatetribe
Sara well I mean number 1. They would find it strange and probably wouldn’t trust me being a lawyer and working with law enforcement, and number 2 I don’t want to be affiliated with their criminal activity even though I love them and want to be with them I just don’t care to know what they do.
Rohid Nablayy How would the law firm even know about your partner’s criminal record? Being with your partner doesn’t mean you’re affiliated with criminal activity - if you don’t have a criminal history yourself you’ll be fine
Sara this is an example. Let’s just say my boyfriend is in the mafia. I’m lawyer/detective/police officer. My boyfriend is known to police like you see on tv they have mobsters pictures and names and what level they are in the mafia on the board of their office trying to figure out what they do (apart from the obvious) they find out I’m dating this guy would I be fired? I’m trying to give a scenario similar to Angela and James relationship in Power. Ghost (James) is a drug dealer and Angela is detective.
Rohid Nablayy I thought you meant that your partner had committed a crime in the past, but now fixed his ways. If your partner is still committing crimes I don’t really understand why you’d be with him if you’re a lawyer - I’m sure you’d have more than enough money. However if you still wanted to be with him and the company/law enforcement found out he was committing crimes I really doubt you could be fired or punished - not unless you were also doing illegal stuff too.
Partner by 35. You got it, girl!
Black women becoming lawyers. O love it. The world needs you both.
Thanks for the encouragement!!
Why does their race matter?

I wholeheartedly agree! Thank You
@J L Where exactly did OP suggest that there is no such thing as professionalism?
yeah that's why I stopped showering
Chet Carter you need to look professional if you disagree then sorry get a job somewhere else
BIG FAT FISH why is the hair that grows out of our head unprofessional
im currently studying law and your video just gave me a boost of confidence in my choice. also, seeing 2 powerful women like you become lawyers makes me so happy :)

Is it crazy? Why would you such thing

How did y’all get these summer gigs? Did representatives come to your school and conduct interviews? Did you go out of your way to seek these?
It is done through a process called OCI or on campus interviews-at our school it's called EIP (the early interview process).
Hi, Ayhme! If you're interested in the interview process (and tips) to getting a summer associate position, I made several videos on that topic if you want to come check them out! :) @associatetribe
Love this video. Very inspirational & informative. You all are too cute & funny...& smart to boot, but yall already know that.

Loved this! Awesome video.

Thank You, Sis!
I love your video on It's how be a lawyer
You rock. I like your natural look. Thanks for the video.
Hi I was wondering if 1L summer interns (summer between 1L and 2L) are usually paid or unpaid? I heard 2L summer associates are well-paid!

That's a nice place [and of course a great video]! US Law Firms "look"_smart, energized, activity based and work oriented.
I am there's for It's and how to be a lawyer
do you have to go to a top 20 law school to be able to become an associate at a big law firm?
No, that is not a requirement.
are you guys in law school or not yet? im thinking of changing from medicine to law but have no experience AT ALL.
Yes, we are third-year law students at Columbia. The video was recorded the summer between our second and third years.
Where did you two go to law school?
We’re still in law school at Columbia.
i like it
What firms are y’all at?
Hey Spelman Sister! #Spelman21 Definitely subscribed, and starting my journey to law school! Thank you for this.
Hey, sis! 💁🏾♀️ Good Luck on this journey. Let me know if you have any questions.
I want to be a lawyer, but what would happen if your boyfriend is a criminal?
Why would that impact your own career?

What does mna mean?
M&A means mergers and acquisitions. So basically it's just assisting companies in buying and selling each other.
I wouldn’t get any work done with that view.
Ummm...I don't even accept lunch invites, I can't imagine going to work and seeing those same people for another extended length of time.
Lol I can understand this sentiment.

That's sad you feel you can't wear your natural hair to work in the 21st century. This is why the Crown Act is so necessary.
