    nice video but,...VR + VY is not 440 V, because there is an angle of 120 degrees between the vectors , thus 220 x sqrt3 = 380 V

    Best video but has some problems about coils voltage at Star connection. Regarding Star connection with source 3 phase 220V. So Vp= Vl/√3= 220/1.73=127V meaning Vr+ Vy= 127+127=254V. So the each coil received 127V only bay the way Delta connection each coil received 220V Thanks

    Sir, one doubt ,wire from start button which is typically NC is directly fed to timer or its rerouted to main contactors NO terminal for self lock and then to timer? We were unable to start our 100kw motor, not sure if its timer fault or contactor failure. Is star-delta timer auto latching or not sir,Thank You.

      Sorry to say but i cant understand your words because there is no element on start push button.
      First of all line wire will come to stop pb n c element after that it will connect to start pb n o element as well as main contactor's auxiliary n o point . But i always use line wire to overload relay then n c point then stop pb.
      Sorry if you feel any inconvenience with my words.

      @@hardintechnical No Problem. Sir, i figured it out yesterday, issue was with the timer. I replaced it with a different timer. It works as expected. & the start button element NO is fed to main CONTACTOR NO &NC and then to timer. Because timer is not self latching as soon as On button is pushed so to keep the supply continuous to timer, it is fed through main contactor. Anyways Thank You, for wiring schematics.

    Are there any effects if the starter is installed far away from the motor instead of in the same room as the motor?

      No effects , if proper cables size is used , I have used cable lengths upto 50 feets

      @@EASYPLCTRAINING thanks the reply!! My cable length is currently up to 100 metres long… the soft starter is designed to be inside the control panel around 100m away from the motor. Not sure if it has any effects

      You wouldn't really want to use a 3 phase power S/D on a single phase motor as single phase motors could use soft start systems that gradually ramp the voltage up to its final output voltage, and you could risk the motor itself going kaboom. A VFD (Variable Frequency Driver) is typically used in this case since they can be set to start at a low frequency and gradually increases to the desired set frequency that is needed.

      Suggest initial settings for HVA
      C5 to 10 sec. for Pumps.
      15 to 25 sec. for Fans.

    I have always adhered to the golden rule of marking the 6 cables going to the motor with the correct phase colours. However I have seen Electricians mark each winding red U1/U2, yellow V1/V2, blue W1/W2. That's been a recipe for disaster.

    delta is 400v/380v
    NOT both 440!
