Thanks, I just looked up and used that song on an IG story notifying my city of the speeding vehicle that buzzed me in a painted bike lane this morning.
The employer should pay enough, so people don't have to rely on tips. Tips should be for extra effort and not basic execution of the work done. In your case I think you should have been tipped, because you've raced. But how do the customers know? People don't pay attention. On the other hand you would basically be tipped to put yourself in danger by speeding, crossing et cetera. It's a tough job and everyone doing it has my respect and tips.
I agree on that that the employer is responsible for good wages and I wouldn't want to have it like in the USA where some delivery workers seem to get 80% of their income from tips. On the other hand tiping is a cultural technique to show your appreciation for the work done. Not only if it was extraordinary but whenever the service provided was good. I'd guess that more than 50% of the people tip and therfore it's strange when you have a day where you get comparetivly little tips. I subconsciosly start questioning if the service I provided wasn't good enough even though I know it was excelent.
