Can confirm the whole silent heart attack thing. When my dad had his fatal heart attack last year his only symptom was fatigue for three days. He just thought the heat had gotten to him since we had a heatwave of 115° a couple weeks prior he didn't realize something was actually truly wrong until he was slipping into cardiac arrest.

I have CFS and I was just on a 2am spree of watching film theories I haven’t seen yet since I can’t sleep and I was actually shocked when you mentioned CFS. CFS doesn’t get talked about a lot and we’re constantly dismissed by medical professionals as just depressed or stressed out or hysterical, so it made me smile when I heard you factually talking about it. You seem to understand it better than literally every doctor I’ve seen. I was kind of like the grinch at first, struggled with walking, noise, light, lots of people, breathing, heart rate, all of that, and now it’s at the point that I can only get around in a power chair and I can’t do anything independently anymore. It’s just nice to see it being recognised as a real thing and a possible reason behind someone being a bit of a ‘grinch,’ when he’s actually been going through it all along. Thanks for being great as always MatPat x
Same here. Was so shocked when he mentioned it, and in a way that acknowledged it as a real condition, rather than dismissing it as not real, or just “in our head” like most “professionals” do. I think my heart grew three sizes in happiness 😄

I originally thought that the Grinch had PTSD.
When watching the Grinch re-boot I noticed that it gives a flashback of when the grinch was a child, this showed him being neglected by The Who’s on Christmas Day, and and also being made fun of by who children. I think that, all the neglect he got at such a young age made him develop a dislike for Christmas.
Also I can I just point out how well the re-boot represents an anxiety attack in public. It was so well done and it touched my heart so much I almost started to cry in the theater.

Courtney Johnson oh yes! I absolutely loved the movie, it had such good attention to details in the animation! I think it’s a great movie for all ages, my little sisters loved it, I loved it, hell, my mom liked it XD so yes. I suggest it to anyone who liked the original (or didn’t)
I think the movie got too much hate. It isn’t perfect in any way, but I think it’s better than the Jim Carrey one. I think it has good humor, animation, story, and has entertainment value.

it could go either way as in the time of the original story adaptation they used the "love" heart as a kid friendly analog to the anatomical heart in all sorts of situations often attached to a clock of some kind when seen

First of all, that made me very sad cause I just found out that my unborn sister has a hole in her heart and 2, his heart growing is a metaphor, it means that, he got a lot happier when he helped them get Christmas back, and his heart being to small is how he is unhappy because he never got to experience Christmas as a kid but keep going with your vids, I love them, and it’s a cartoon

I kinda figure it is, because of bioluminescence, but what would he use it for? What did his parents suffer through (plus many a generation before them) that cause their son to have a nose that glows? Bioluminescence, sure, but WHY? The other reindeer freak out when they see him, so it’s not for attracting mates. It’s not for defense as it lures the abominable to him all the time. It’s not to attract food because he’s a herbivore!
I would say “plot convenience” but A) it was a song first and B) this is the theorist channel. Those explanations just aren’t fun at all.

New theory: The grinch isn’t a villain. The Who’s were evil and cruel to him (when he clearly has a medical condition) so they’re the real villains of the book/film(s)

Pah. Only saw the Carrey movie, did you? In the book and the original TV special, the Whos already KNEW this. In fact, the realization is what triggered the change. When the Grinch had all the presents, feasts, and decorations at the top of the mountain, he heard the Whos down in Whoville, and they were not lamenting the theft--they were gathered around the town square, holding hands, singing, welcoming Christmas just as they would have had there been presents. After realizing that Christmas "came without presents. It came without tags It came without packages, boxes, or bags." In 2019 I was unemployed and so stressed out i had a mini stroke and fell face first on my glasses and broke them. I had thought I had a hypoglycemic episode but when I went to urgent care in 2020 I offhandedly mention the episode which had only been 2 months prior and he (the doctor assigned to me) looked at me funny. Come to find out I had a mini stroke at 25 and now I have to actively avoid stress which is in fact very stressful 😅
