Now there's a reason why casting Jim Carrey as the Grinch is the role in the movie. He wasn't just nailing his role, he also improved his acting with his best comedy. 🎄🤣🙏

I have to agree with that. The film itself was major milestone for Jim Carrey, it turned out to be a successful highlight throughout his career. I also think that having Jim Carrey playing as the Grinch, is pretty fun to watch, and more entertaining for people of all ages to watch the movie itself.

I always found it super sweet that Martha never laughed at Grinch, not when they were children and not as adults either
I know the Grinch was supposed to be the bad guy of the story, but he was pretty fair about how he described the holiday and dug into everyone in whoville about putting so much in a time of year, only for most of it to go in the trash. This probably explains why Max is so loyal to the Grinch, because he's one of those tossed away gifts.

I just noticed: when the grinch opens his gift, right before the close up of the razor, if you look at Martha she has this slight look of horror on her face right as she realizes what it is. Very good acting moment. Also, really sleepy for the mayor to put a freaking jeopardy time limit on Martha to accept his proposal. No wonder the poor woman froze up like that.

Best scene in the movie without a doubt! The Grinch was absolutely right to call out the Whos for their avarice and love of Christmas only for the presents. What rubs it even harder is that Cindy and Martha were the only ones who could appreciate what he said. As for Augustus, to call him a bully and spoiled brat is putting it lightly.
This should be mandatory viewing for everyone on Black Friday morning!

I never did understand why our teachers always told us to close our eyes when that scene came on but when I got older , I realized what it meant and I totally understand 🤣🤣🤣 . I think that quite a bit of the town knew what was happening. Notice how they were all laughing at the prank? Remember that everyone in the class saw what happened and many joined in. Even the teacher was finding it hard to hold back her laughter.

The mayor is definitely an asshole because he was the cause of the Grinch hating Christmas.
He had hoped that the Grinch wouldn’t show up, but when he did and shown to have a really great time, Augustus plotted and got him that razor - reminding the Grinch of the worst day of his life.
Now to add insult to injury - Augustus attempts to propose to Martha May right in front of the Grinch.
Augustus had planned on the Grinch destroying the celebration to add more fuel to reminding the Whos that Christmas should be Grinch-less.

I still wonder how much fun it feels to be part of that festival. Not so sure about the pudding, fruit cake, and fudge eating portion but everything else looks like a lot of fun to be part of.😂

Something tells me that the grinch didn’t even need to learn anything in this movie. It’s the who’s fault for being jerks and overly commercialized (except for Martha, the moms, and Cindy). I felt so bad for him whenever he was finally having fun and the mayor had to mess everything up.
Also Jim Carrey’s hilarious performance makes this movie even better. He did such a good job at becoming one with not only the costume, but the entire scenery.
