Enjoyed the video man! Good balance of keeping the video moving along but giving a good description about working each bait! I’ll definitely be trying these out! Tight lines!
First off...great information again Nick!! 1. Deep diver cranks in natural shad, bluegill, crawfish patterns. 2. Swimbaits 3. Jig -n- Pigs 4. Spinners/ silver blades sunny, gold cloudy. 5. Little Cleo spoons. I usually fish rivers for smallies, but this year they added them to my local lake, good ones too, adults 16" - 18". Can't wait to get out there!!
I usually use spoons for walleye and bass in fall on lakes. But with smallies being added to my local lake, and catching one on the river this spring with a blue and silver Little Cleo, when not much else was working, reminds me of "old lures can still work".
my favorite is always the simple night crawler on light line. I double #10 hook them so they swim like an eel. no weight in open water no current. Very ligttle weight on slow streams as long as they move low and slow. rivers a bit heavier.
I think I've mentioned before, but I can't go Smallie fishing without my trusty Storm 360GT Searchbait. I fish it along rock lines and structure just like you do for your swimbaits. It is absolutely lights out. I've also had some good luck with fly jigs too lately.
My favorite lures for fall is -Swimbait -Spoon -Spinnerbait -Squarebill -Jerkbait So where do you chase smallmouth bass in mn? I'm also from mn always looking for a good spot to get some monster SMB I catch alot in the river.
1.2.5-5inch keitech (This is far late but who cares) 2.lipless crank 3.jerkbait 4.crankbait 5.texas-rigged worm 6.drop-shot 7.hair/skirted jigs 8.ned rig 9.mini spinnerbait 10. Small hard body swimbaits (This was 10)
The stack is coming into my neck of the woods the out of state boats are rolling in! If your close to Little Falls MN let me know It would be fun to see how you would fish this spot one of the best in MN!!
Nick Lindner I’m not sure if you understood that I was referring to a company there or a style of fishing but I was referring to the company Nikko baits, one bait I use from them is killer on big smallmouth.
Nick I can't believe you didn't included the jerk bait. It's a killer shallow water search bait. Only problem is pike love them just as much as the smallmouth do.
fall months please define water temps. i go right til the ice comes in water temps hi50's lo 60's super spook over weeds, swim baits, jerk baits, Spybaits. wacky worms. Temps in mid to lo 40's dropshot, wacky rig, tubes, spoons, jerk baits I downsize my dropshot baits to using crappie tubes and small minnow plastic baits. Have caught many over 5lbs with these baits. Figure fish metabolism slows down in colder water and takes longer to digest so the fish enjoy my small bait presentations.
Late summer and up into last week heddons spittin image a lot less bites but I am a topwater addict! Then the jig comes next if you want you can check out some of the news Jersey Smallmouth I’ve been getting on top @wong.gen on instagram thanks I enjoy you informative videos Thanks again Gen Wong

Good list Jay. One thing I haven't done much is spooning for smallmouth. I'll having to try that at some point.

Fall is my favorite too. I've always had best luck with swimbaits by far.
Fall is great … I agree with all your choices. I would also throw a top water with great success under the right conditions

What are you favorite fall smallmouth bass lures? Comment below and let me know!
Nikko Baits
Another killer
Nick Lindner I’m not sure if you understood that I was referring to a company there or a style of fishing but I was referring to the company Nikko baits, one bait I use from them is killer on big smallmouth.
Ohhh, I thought you were referring to Neko rigging.
Nick Lindner No but I am sure it works
Nick I can't believe you didn't included the jerk bait. It's a killer shallow water search bait. Only problem is pike love them just as much as the smallmouth do.
Jerkbaits are definitely on my spring smallie list!
All good info, but this is more for lake fishing. What about fall fishing for smallmouth on rivers?
True! Might have to do a river one next year. Thanks for the comment.
How did you not include a topwater bait in the mix???
spinnerbait, ned rig,buzzbait,swimbait,spook.
Hair jig, Grn. Pumpkin tube, Zoom fluke. Ned rig, square bill but Hair all fall.
Good list Clarence 👍
Green Pumpkin Tube!
Tough to beat a green pumpkin tube day in and day out
Deep structure, 20’ or deeper?

Very true. Good points, Brian
Top 5. Fall lures.
Lipless crank
Neko rig
Ned rig
Dark sleeper swimbaits
Drop shot goby baits
Good list Pedro
Put some to use and win our RUclips fishing tournament! I think smallies will be the species with the least competition
You'd think there would be more competition for such a fun species
@@NickLindner honestly we just don't get them around here, but we're on largies and stripers for sure. Headed out for stripers right now!
Ahh, yeah. That makes sense
A rig, drop shot, jerkbait, blade bait, sucker minnow 🤭
Still not as good as a leech on a dropshot though!
Jig's Jig's Jig's
Tough to go wrong with a jig!
Beetle spins only
🔥
