Tried the Eryone silk copper and was immediately hooked, so I ordered the gold and silver (now waiting for it). I used the stock Prusament PLA settings on a Prusa Mini and got great results from the very first print and on. I see lots of positive reviews of this stuff. Especially nice is the perfect coil winding on the spool (like Prusament and some others)-- not slop wound, which always means you're getting better quality and tolerance.
Yes I’ve heard this mentioned a few times now. As an alternative you could check out Zyltech’s metallic filaments. (Use coupon code NerdisCool to save 5% as well)
Silk PLA (I am also using Eryone) is my absolute nemesis , I have never had my prints fail more on this than on any material , I have spent days if not weeks trying to get this to work with all types of print , my normal calibration prints work out fine , the xyz cube, retractions tests and overhangs no problem at all , even can print one of those neat shark desk toys you can find on tinkercad. Then I load a design in that is a little bit bigger like for example a chassis for a raspberry pi , the butterfly puzzle box, a maze puzzle cylinder and the bowden extruder on my Tevo Tarantula starts clicking on the first layer , it still looks good until it hits about 20mm on the z axis and the nozzle is completely clogged and starts laying down brittle layers for about 2mm then all back to normal. I tried everything , upping the temp , lowering the temp , bed leveling, slowing down the print, speeding up the print , reduce extrusion , increase , adjust retraction speeds, upgraded to a genuine e3d v6 extruder. Then when I take the printer exact same settings and pop in a normal roll of PLA or the nice glow in the dark one the problem instantly stops , no extruder clicks nothing .
Silk PLA has been a challenge for me. Most of my printers are direct drive so I’m not getting clicking .... but overhangs and supports were a struggle. I found doing Temperature Towers to find the sweet spot helps immensely
@@WhereNerdyisCool i also thought direct drive might be a little bit more forgiving, also finding the extrusion width is tricky as silk pla seems to expand when heated. But it fails mostly on specific types of prints rather than all, namely the ones where large area of base layers are printed on the bed.
@@WhereNerdyisCool but i will keep trying , i am sure i will figure out the secret. Every time i think have have it and make notes i am sadly dissapointed.
Has no one tried vapor smoothing these metal filaments?? Seems like you could get an incredible finish with that, then buff it with a polishing wheel. It would look JUST like real metal.
I've used Eryone for months now and its always been a great filament recently ran out of their black but waiting on new stock. There white is amazing for lithophanes
Hey, can you tell me which exact eryone filament you use for lithophanes? They have matte white, heir standard/normal filament has white and ivory white and also their sub-brand cerprise has a white filament.
I’ve had trouble with this brand. I bought x3 filaments all were breaking, really brittle. I contacted support and to their credit, they openly admitted the batch had less softening agent in it. This was a bit worrying as I bought, blue, orange and green. Ever since then I’ve never used them.
Great video! Amazing prints! Wow! Thank you for sharing! Also, do you have any info on the printer, slicer, and extruder nozzle used? Btw, how can I get that test file that tests the holes, bridging, has the angles, etc.?

Do you know if this filament is still available only what the current equivalent is. I cannot see another filament offering the same look. Looks more gold and exactly what I want. Let me know. Cheers

Hello Paul, I have bought all the ULTRA SILK colors and for some reason I have not been able to print anything with details, there's always something wrong with my prints, can you please tell me what settings are you using? I have tried everything, speed, temp, infill, jerk,acceleration...nothing works so far, please advise or if anyone here can help I would appreciated it, thx.
Let’s step back to the basics first. I’d do an extrusion multiplier test and a temperature tower to find the right settings for your machine. Are you getting artifacts? Ringing? That’s why I suggest those two steps first
@@WhereNerdyisCool thank you, I'm somewhat new at this 3d print thing so bear with me a little, so my temp tower even at 180 (filament recomends 190) there's still curling on the fine overhangs and I'm having horrible stringing, I increased the speed of the print thinking that the issue might be the heat extrusion from the nozzle but still, the issue is there, the really strange thing is that I printed with the ERYONE regular silk and basically "standard" PLA setting and have absolutely no issues, now could it be that this specific spool I'm using might be "defective" I do have other color however I don't want to open them before resolving this issue....
Love that filament. Gives me an idea. I gotta find an STL of a Dundee Award from The Office

Ok hopefully I can find it. Like the old school art work. Makes me want to read some of my old Star Wars comics like Crimson Empire.
I loved the comics growing up!
Other than price, what's the difference between 'Eryone Silk' and 'Eryone Ultra Silk' ?
