Whoa, didn't know these existed. We had an actual 5200 growing up and the joysticks pretty much sucked the enjoyment out of the system. Fire buttons would stop working, buttons on the keypad would stop working. I became an expert at taking those things apart and playing swaptronics to get them working again. This is really awesome, nice work!

Thanks! First comment on this old restoration in a long time :) Still a very cool system but the controllers definitely had problems!

From one Todd to another Todd... I see your Dragon Warrior and Final Fantasy NES games hiding over there on the left... my two favorite games growing up!!!

I played all the way through Dragon Warrior a couple of times back in the day and a couple of times since. Love it! I never had Final Fantasy but have played through it more recently. Another great game. I’m a sucker for RPGs.

So, I never did this until recently, but if you get the Game Boy version of Dragon Warrior, it's a much better version of the original. It's otherwise totally the same, just slightly better graphics. Worth it... because they also have 2 and 3 on the GameBoy Color, which you can of course play on the Retron Cube. @@tcurtis49

I love atari . It's my favorite console system. I had the 2600 as a kid and I've built a full arcade cabinet with the entire 2600 library on it.
But as a kid I didn't remember the 5200 or 7800 they slipped by 😮. I do recall the jaguar but never owned it or played it.

I had a friend with the 5200 and we played it exactly once. It was too hard to control without self-centering joysticks. I really like the 2600 kiosk-it’s one of my favorite display items.

I would love to do more in-depth videos when I have the time. You can see a bit more of it in the documentary 'Nintendo Quest'.

Love your videos. Great to see these old machines getting new life. Just wondering.. what do the telephone keypads do?

Games came with an overlay so you could use them as additional buttons for expanded functions.

I have an Atari 5200 kiosk sitting in my garage left behind by previous owners. I’m not sure what to do with it. What are your suggestions? It also needs restoration.

That's awesome! Sorry I missed this earlier. There are Facebook groups for Atari collectors, and also kiosk collectors that can help. Or send me a private message if you can.
