    No clue why your channel doesn't have more views. You have some excellent restoration efforts and take some innovative approaches to trashed cabinets.

      Thanks! I’m just trying to have some fun and entertain whoever happens to stumble upon my videos. It’s still a relatively new channel and it’s growing little by little. Now to find the next trashed game to rescue…

      @@tcurtis49 I like that you're trying to fix up things that weren't made for it. :) Shelving and arcade cabinets are made of unforgiving fiberboard. I am glad I learned about wood hardener from your channel.
      My favorite thus far is the red tent you did. When I procured my PlayChoice-10 from the defunct Arcade Warehouse in Haggerstown, I was chatting with the guy who owned and ran it for so many years. :) I asked about red tents and he told me they went too fast back in 2019. He said in the 00s he couldn't give them away and was throwing them out!
      Those damn monitors are so rare that is a tough to hear. There is a red tend near me in PA that is fully gutted, but I'm not sure if I can find an LCD that I could replace the CRTs with due to it being a ridiculous size.

    While I enjoyed the restoration, I also had a great time with the Sega commercials and history. Those were my early teen years and I remember feeling like the people at Sega knew their market. Like, they didn’t give a crap about the establishment, just like me. That being said, we always had Nintendo stuff and so was always wanting to play my friends’ Sega systems. Great content!

    I love the Genesis. It's got an outrageously interesting version of Ms. Pac-Man. I've got a Sega Master System as well but it doesn't get played as often as it should. But it sure looks great sitting on the shelf. Your organizational acumen and collecting enthusiasm are reigniting my interest in giving some play time to these system. Maybe do a video on the Dreamcast if you haven't already. I'd love to see your take on it. I do play that from time to time.

    • @tcurtis49
      @tcurtis49  2 месяца назад +2

      Thanks! I was also a huge Dreamcast fan and waited at Wal-Mart at midnight on 9-9-99 to get one of the first units. It was funny because the electronics section was in a cage and was locked and nobody there had a key. We complained enough that an employee climbed the cage, went over the top and unlocked the door from the inside. I played for a couple of hours then had to get some sleep for work the next morning.

    • @bradnelson3595
      @bradnelson3595 2 месяца назад +2

      @@tcurtis49 Great story about the cage-climbing employee. I came late to the Dreamcast. I do the art and printing for various retro console, controller, and cartridge labels for purposes of restoration. If you have refurbed a unit with a new label, chances are I made it. Well, the person I was making them for (the actual retailer) got me re-invigorated in retro computing. My brother had a non-working Dreamcast. My client sent me the part to fix it and I've been a fan ever since.

      I'm still working on my editing skills, but getting closer to where I want to be. This one was a bit different trying to incorporate more history and outside video into it, but I think without context just a video of picking up a cabinet isn't very impactful. I wish I had access to true historic archival video rather than a recording of a recording and so on. I also need to work with my new Blue microphone a bit more to dial in my voiceovers as they sound a little hollow in the final cut. But getting pretty good with Adobe Premiere Pro and the next video will be a big one. I appreciate that comment coming from you, obviously, as you are much more of a pro than I am :)

    Sega was alot more popular here in the late 80s and early 90s especially the master system, so much we we're getting game releases way after American stopped with it over there .reason it was popular here because it was much cheaper especially has many we're used to cheaper games from micro computers (most we're £1 to £2) so when Nintendo showed up people wasn't much interested to the snes
