I doubt there is a single "gacha game" that lets you freely grind and obtain ANY "SSR" equivalent characters, yes, ANY, including new walpurg ids (basically "limited" characters) that are just timegated for 1 season but if you got the shards, you can just not pull and dispense them, thats what got me hooked to this game in the first place since its such a foreign concept in a "gacha game" that wants you to swipe, not grind. I myself also treat buying the battlepass like a subscription thingy like ff14/wow. Sometimes i regret not playing limbussy earlier but whats important is i am now 🗿
It is the first gacha game with 12 characters. 12 CHARACTERS ONLY. While other gacha games try to sell different characters with variety design, Limbus gives us smaller pool characters to focus on. It is a REALLY GOOD DECISION because every characters get their spotlights and you end up caring for all of them even tho they're not your favourite. You love to see each character interact with each other and see them as your beloved "12 dysfunctional adults sharing one braincell".
Limbus can technically be played completely without interacting with the gacha system (yes, even for Walpurgis, but you'll be missing the last 1-2 ID's for about 3-4 months till the next WPN) Even though Gachaless% speedrun would be impossible probably, because you are forced to pull once in the beginning, as a tutorial to explain how gacha system works. After that you can never interact with any chance based character acquisition mechanics in the game, herens how: You get ~1000 lunacy per week, 300 from maintenance and about ~700 from mirror dungeons. Instead of spending it on gacha, you refill your energy with lunacy and convert to modules. Then you play Mirror Dungeon or Mirror Dungeon Hard and "convert" the modules into battle pass, which eventually starts giving you shard boxes, one for the free bp, or 3 for paid BP. These shard boxes can be opened to receive character shards, which can be spent to buy any ID or EGO you want, (except for Walpurgis ID, and Previous sesason ID, which you can also buy, but you have to wait for the time window). With a paid BP you can get shards for about one 000 Id or one EGO per week. (imagine getting one Raiden per week, or any character from any previous banner events, for all of you non Limbus players, idk I dont play genshin but that sounds like an about right comparison to me). And considering that you get just short of a 10 pull amount of Lunacy per week (and a 10 pull doesnt even guarantee you a 000 ID or an EGO, not to mention you can get duplicates), this strategy is literally better than pulling gacha, which is a crazy statement for a supposedly gacha game. (And yes, I know that for a fresh account gacha is technically more worth it, but as you get ID's an EGO's the shard farm strat quickly becomes better as your account gets richer)
Also, it's being a game with kinda most of edible glass lore material, while having the most shitposting community, it's great. Uhh.. i need to do funny ending sentence-- Sancho, i got theory on our society most ingenious!

Limbus company and Reverse are generous and don’t make me go insane (To an extent) which is why they are the only gacha games I’m currently playing, I quit all the others for these two
Also, here's the thing... Every characters and EGO can be earn without a single pull. All you need is to keep on grinding in Mirror Dungeon and you should be able to get 1 IDs or EGO after playing 20-25 mirror dungeon without using weekly reward ( assuming you bought Limbus Pass, which I guarantee you, it's bloody worth it, especially after you started grinding as soon as the new Season started... )
So with my peak performance I do 7 MD runs a day (weekly reset day I do 3 H runs with charges and 7 N runs) you are not taking into account dailys and weeklys which adds 9 BP levels per week
@@Plaugus_Screenz I mostly do 3 MD runs daily cuz I'm busy irl, but I still manage to catch up cuz gahd damn the Limbus Pass made my grinding progress as easy as hecc

Limbus is the first gacha game where I brought stuff purely as a way to express my enjoyment of the game and approval of how fair their monetization system is.
what made me actually like limbus despite hating gacha games was two things 1. an actually good story 2. a significant lack of pedophiles compared to other gacha games
No other gatcha game will allow you to pick up a new SSR equivalent on the first hour the banner goes live at zero crystals/tickets/pulls. AND allow you to fully power up the new ID from the start because Limbus lacks any artifact/equipment system. 400 EGOshards + Dispenser my beloved. Yes I bought the battlepass. Oh right, other battlepasses basically expire at max level and their max XP per week is capped. Limbus Pass has no XP limit at all AND rewards you for going over max level AND Dispenser allows access to past season EGO including past Walpurgisnacht. Pretty great.
Other gachas hold your hand and guide you to a pleasant escape from reality, where you go on adventures with harems waiting for you. Limbus Company stands at the foot of your bed and beats you to sleep before kidnapping and taking you to a far worse version of the reality you inhabit.
the simplest answer is that Limbus has a set cast of characters instead of making you pull *for* characters. This means that the cast is always with you, are the main focus of the story, can develop more organically over time and are still relevant most of the time. This makes them MUCH more compelling than the average gacha character and creates a fanbase that is truly there for the ride. Most other gacha games can, at their best, only do "here's your character quest for the new 5 star pull that makes you cry because we spent 400 million dollars on it! They will be irrelevant forever afterwards!". I don't care. It doesn't feel like a character, it feels like you just gave me an ad.

The most satisfying part of limbus company is finishing a hardmode md at the 60s-100s range in the bp watching the level go up knowing you'll have enough boxes to shard a character

So far, as a new player, some of my problems with R1999 are the story translation, the weird usage of words and descriptions, and that there are a bajillion things needed to upgrade a lot of stuff for each character! 😫
I've been trying out R1999 and want to keep playing because I find the story and setting interesting, but my god raising units in that game feels so awful, just trying to raise a team of 4 to be able to do any content is already a task itself. Getting bosses with mechanics that counter my team and a game mode that tells me "Sorry, but you can only use ONE Unit for your last four in the next fight." makes the grind feel super punishing. "I can barely raise four characters, you want me to raise an extra THREE for this game mode?!" I should drop R1999, its story is interesting but does not have me drooling for the story like Limbus Company. Probably not worth the pain I'm inducing on myself. P.S. I'm playing R1999 as I type this. I just did a mission 12 times to get 3 materials for a SINGLE upgrade to a SINGLE unit because they are a "possible" drop. Each mission run takes 18 energy and 1 energy regenerates every 6 minutes. 18x12 = 216, 216x6 = 1296 minutes. That's 21.6 Hours of energy...Oww.
