Absolutely spot on !! Nice Vid and great for newbies thinking about getting a compressor
Thank you for your support! I'm glad you enjoyed the video.
Its interesting how everyone on youtube always seem to have had a good experience with Drapers customer service....sadly without going into too much detail; I don't share a similar experience. I'm not saying anything bad about their tools, their tools are usually pretty good for their price, just their customer service I haven't been impressed by. but I am glad it just seems to be me who had a bad experience with their customer service at least
Hello.
As far as I am aware in my 7 years on the trade I never had an issue. I have been working with many technicians and in different work places that used them and never heard anything bad. Thats the reason I am using them. On my channel I want to be as honest as I can and its just the way I am.... I have had a product from SGS engineering and that was awful product and customer service was 2 month of complaining, 28 phone calls and loads of emails. When finally got to refund they done it in 4 parts and forgot 2 of them. So my experience ended there. My college had a very similar one with them as well.
So far SGS was the only bad experience I had.
I am sorry to hear that you had an issue with them.
Was it due to a faulty item?
@@AlexTheGrumpyOne Yeah it just seems to be me who was unlucky (can happen to everyone I guess).
1) This was years ago, was about product inquiry / sales inquiry, I called their main UK number and got through to someone at their reception, this person then put me through to what she thought was the correct department, but turned out to not be the right place...okay fair enough we all make mistakes...then the person I got through to told me to call a different number and when I did so it was a disconnected number.....so I called the main number again, spoke to the same lady at the reception who apologised and tried to put me through to a different department...where I spend like 10 min on hold before call disconnected.
...called up main number again, reception lady apologised and asked for my details so someone would call me back
....no one ever did
2) This was maybe back in 2017, this time it was more a marketing related question as I was at the time trying to start a youtube channel and wanted to recommend some of their tools and if they were interested in me reviewing their tools on my channel at the time. then lady I spoke to gave me an email to write to, and so I send them an email......never heard anything back....not even a "sorry we are not interested" or a anything. (okay maybe not customer service related but still an experience with their company)
3) This was in the beginning of 2020, called with a technical question about one of their products. This time the very rude person I spoke with pretty much just told me to; "go back and read the description on their website otherwise google it myself"
@@socialghost4400 oh I see. That does seem unusual to be honest. Its unfortunate that you had issue like that. With tools I think you end up contacting distributors and not main building as they provide it to different shops and then its that shop that is responsible
Useful video as a prospective buyer. I have a small direct drive compressor which has just bitten the dust(hooray! I hated the noisy little thing!). I was looking at the 100L version of this compressor but have got room for a larger one so I might well get the 150L.
I was wondering how it’s still performing and have you had any issues?
Nice video presentation as well-liked and subscribed, many thanks
Thank you very much. I'm glad that you like it.
Yes I am still using it and so far everything is fine. The oil is nice and clean and on the level. Just obvious need to make sure that you drain the water out of it as you suppose to :)
Yeah I had 100l before from different brand and found this 150 much better!
Hi Alex, This is the ONLY review of a 150 litre Draper compressor I could find.... which is wierd - but thanks for a great vid! I also found your comment about SGS on another RUclips review. I'm about to buy a 150l unit for spraying and currently hovering between the 150l SGS unit and a Draper one similar to yours. The SGS looks slightly more powerful than the Draper if the specs are to be believed, and is >£100 cheaper, but quality/back-up seems 'variable'. How has the Draper faired one year on, and have you used it for any spraying jobs?
Hi there. Thank you.
I will start straight away with telling u to stay away from the SGS! They customer support was horrible and I was miss Sold the compressor from them. It was rubbish and they didn't want to take any responsibility for it.
Took me almost 2 month for them to take it back and refund me. I've called them 18 times to get refund. And then they gave me 3 partial refunds and said that they lost the compressor -.-
Had work colleagues going through the same situation with them with tool boxes. Quality is very poor.
Draper tools has been great. I'm still using it.
Had a little bit of oil leak but that's due to failing to do simple checks after a year of use. Check that bolts and nuts are tight. Apart from that its brilliant
@@AlexTheGrumpyOne Thanks Alex, very useful. Don't get why this is the only review of these compressors - maybe I'll put one up myself!
Yeah i was surprised when I couldn't find any
How is the compressor no0w? Any problems?
Yes so far everything good. Oil also looking good. So no problems so far
Hi mate can it run on standard 13amp plug or it need 16 amp separate socket?
My one is running on 13a plug bud 😀
Any good for spray painting? HVLP, Conventional or LVLP guns? Thanks Gaz
Reviews said it was. I personally haven't tried so wouldn't know unfortunately
@@AlexTheGrumpyOne OK Alex, thanks anyway. I have just spoken with a supplier and it maybe suitable.
Sweet. That's great 👍
@@gazsto9510 Did you buy the Draper 150l compressor and use it for HVLP spraying? I am just about to make the same decision. Hovering over this one or SGS. Any thoughts /experiences appreciated.
HOTECHE compressor is it the same as DRAPER
What was the specific model number for that compressor?
DA150/369M
Thats the part number buddy :)
@@AlexTheGrumpyOne cool, cheers good sir
No problems buddy. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New year!
@@AlexTheGrumpyOne You too man, all the best for the coming year.
What comes with it?
It depends on what kit you order. Some had extra air line attachments. I bought just a basic one and bought line and attachments afterwards
@@AlexTheGrumpyOne ok am gonna go get mine Friday i do auto body repairs
Awesome 👌
Word of advice,, depressurise your air receiver, remove the shitty brass drain valve and replace it with a 1/4 inch ball valve. Test your safety valve at least once a month.. And retorque your cylinder head cap screw bolts every 6 months..
Thank you. That is much appreciated. Will have a look
@@AlexTheGrumpyOne you work on cars,, I work on air compressors... If you have any questions about compressors,, feel free to ask..
Thank you very much! I really appreciate it.
How do you test the safety valve?
@@scalewarmachines depends on the type of safety valve.
can this compressor paint an entire car
I am not sure on that as I'm not a painter. I use it only for mechanical purposes
Nope it's full of air Ha ha
