The basics of teaching reading with an Interactive Read Aloud

An Interactive Read Aloud is a simple and effective way to teach reading using mentor texts in grades K-6. I discuss how teachers can set up the overall structure of an Interactive Read Aloud, the preparation, what a typical lesson includes, and I give an example of using the book, Ish by Peter Reynolds.

I went to school to be an elementary teacher, ended up having kids and teaching PE part time so i could have more time at home. Now bc of distance learning in response to COVID-19 I have decided to teach my son 1st grade at home. These little videos are so helpful and exactly what I need; quick and to the point with a simple instructional example. Great job and thank you!!
