Love that muddy tone. Mr Auerbach If you read this, keep shining a little light on these fine musicians. You're doing the world a service giving them the platform they deserve. Keep it up chief.
Ben! Thanks so much for the support & getting what we are putting down!
@@EasyEyeSound Thank you guys for the great music! What you are doing is remarkable in this day and age and has my full admiration and support, keep the train a rollin!
@@EasyEyeSound If I can get a hold of Mr. Dan Auerbach, I need to reach out to you about this song. My client wants to license it for a film. janice@dmgclearances.com
First note...real chills
This... this is GOOD!
I’m a professional luthier, I live right down the road from the blue front cafe. Elmore James and Lonnie Pitchford are buried less than 5 miles from my shop. In my opinion Dan is one of the few people who truly understands the multiple blues styles of MS. He truly has done it justice, from the black keys first album (especially on the Chulahoma album) to him now actually being able to shine a light on some of these local guys!! I think it’s awesome, keep up the great work Dan!
What's the name of your guitar shop?
"LUTHIER" -- made me look up that one ...
That’s one long five miles from Bentonia up to Newport Road out from Ebenzer to Elmore James’ grave. It’s 39 miles from Bentonia to Ebenzer then over five more to Elmore’s grave. You only off over 30 miles. I was by Elmore’s grave today. I’m going back and polish the marble up.
Found this from a news story on TV! So happy!
Same
If you really dig the blues, is there ANYONE better these days than Jimmy 'Duck' Holmes? His only competition (Robert Johnson, Elmore James, Howlin' Wolf, Leadbelly, Muddy Waters, Lightnin' Hopkins), well, their not around anymore. I hope he wins the Grammy this weekend.
I can't believe this album was entirely improvised. Great to know that music like this still exists in America
The spirit of RL and Junior lives on in this.
Just heard about this album. Wow, this is real music.
Found this via Robert Plant's tweet today, blimey!
Mix of two underated legends Junior Kimbrough and R.L Burnside.
Up for a Grammy this Sunday night, March 14, 2021: "Best Traditional Blues Album".
He should have won
Would love to see this blues man live sitting on the porch so I could shake his hand and tell him that he is an amazing artist!!
Mr. Jimmy duck Holmes I was hoping that you will win that 2021 Grammy award because you the only Blues Man that is still picking the Blues in its original art form
Damn!
Kinda has that Junior Kimbrough vibe going for it. Really dig it.
My heart swims in the blues. Love down home blues: my favorite! Finally, he is getting the recognition he deserves.
Agreed!
Landed here on Jimmy Duck Holmes from a Robert Plant recommendation on FB. Love these musicians that are "keeping the blues alive".
Me too, except it was Robert Plant on Twitter :-)
Oh my God!! This is the realest blues I've heard sense my grandma passed away!!! God bless Duck!!! 💯❤🔥
Play on my good man. Mr Auberbach remains an ever faithful curator to the blues.
Wow! I just discovered Mr. Holmes. God bless him!!
He DESERVES a Grammy🎸!!!
It doesn’t get anymore traditional and authentic than this! 👍👍
Keep it up Mr Jimmy really enjoyed visiting with you last weekend.❤❤❤
ROBERT PLANT SEND ME HERE! AND I LOVE IT!🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽MUCHO BLUES!!!
Knew about him After one of article from "The Kathmandu Post" "Small town Bluesman keeps aging music alive" Glad the he stayed and because of him his place is now getting known afterwards.... Love From 🇳🇵Nepal
I don’t play the blues and I haven’t even listened to the blues much, but I love this music.
Dont care who you are or what color that gets to your soul. God bless.
Groove is King
That’s most excellent!!!
Yes, please. Love that sound n style. Deep south, baby!
This Music 🎶 makes Me feel good deep in my Soul Keep on Playing 🎸 & 🎤🎶 Mr.Duck
Wow! Hope you get the Gramy you deserve tonight. Do what you do Jimmy, it makes my soul happy 😊.
One great artist and musician and songwriter
Wish one day I'll visit this place. I'd like to play some North-West blues for everybody. This is mekka for a music lover
Found this via the new movie Palmer. Amazing blues track
This is the true, life man ❤️
I have fallen in love with this all over again 👍
Guess I'd have to go to Yazoo County and visit his cafe to listen to Mr. Holmes live, wish I was more of a ramblin' man!
O down home Blues👋👋👋👋👋👋👋
Just met Jimmy today at the Blue Front Cafe. Humble dude! Signed a CD and post card for me. What a legend!
Man, this sound brings back memories of old time delta blues.
Super hipnotic song
Saw him on CBS News Sunday Morning. This is great!
Bentonia Mississippi!!
👊
This is so great!
thank you! Jimmy will be stoked!
remember him from the last chance u video in coahoma, this music is excellent. i dream of going on the mississippi blues trail one day
His guitar work has a lot of that Tuareg nomad musicality to it. In fact, so do his vocals. Curious influence. Then again, it also sounds a lot like Foghat's "I Just Wanna Make Love to You."
Down home blues I listened to in the 50’s🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙
Damn that solo from Dan. Freaking love that!
One of the coolest songs i've ever heard. I didn't honestly know about him. I've been heavily into blues these days. This kind of music can never truly die, so long as someone is there to tell a story and play a good guitar. Dan, you do amazing work. I've heard quite a few albums you've produced and even have some. Artists like Hanni El Khatib. It all feels rooted in blues.
so glad you dig it! wait till you hear the rest!
@@EasyEyeSound I'm ready.
October 18th is closer than you think! Will be debuting a new track in two weeks!
Jimi Hendrix does a fine version of this same song.
@@johnniehaygood1 Right, I didn't realize this was a blues classic song until the other day and it clicked haha.
Down right amazing.
Could not hit like fast enough! Amazing. Thanks to Dan to get this music back out to new listeners and keeo it going!
Pure raw talent....endless as well!
This is music. Love it
So many interpetations of this classic song and this is another great version. Really like the subtle wah sounds in the background and the call and response!
🎸🏆🙏🏾❤️ Mississippi 👍
Omg I've never Hurd anything like this before this was beautiful hope you get that Grammy you deserve it big time
This is the stuff! It’s still going on and I’m learning my best from these dudes!
I love this groove! Been doing the Catfish Blues for a while, but I'm going to knock it back like this going forward. Beautiful...
Wow! Once he plugged in it started sounding super funky, really good stuff
digging the stuff recently from easy eye but this is on a new level
thank you from a grateful Easy Eye Sound!
This version is great, can’t wait for the full album, one of best versions I’ve heard, up there with Muddy
Oh wow! Wonderful!!
Killer groove. Really looking forward to this one dropping (I’ve preordered it over on the iTunes)! Thank you.
Pretty cool find and production Mr. Auerbach I am a true fan.
Dan, you sure make Akron proud. Much respect!
It was nice to meet Jimmy to the Blue front cafe.
Love Jimmy Duck Holmes
So groooovyyy love it
excellent +++++ cover ! ! !
I dream to go to Nashville and record something there!! :D
this is sick! great job!
For anyone who enjoys this style of blues, look up the documentary “I Am The Blues”. Lots of great interviews, including Jimmy, Bud Spires and others
It's can be a intro to True Detectiv👌
Robert plant bragged this up! Dis to dank!
Amazing. It transports me
Found this from John Anderson, great work here !
...Conheci o som hoje pq assisti o filme Palmer... que grata surpresa 😍
Sounds like a soft Muddy Waters. Cool, slow RnB, with a true "black" voice.
❤❤❤
Heck yah
💙 ☀️
That was good 👏
Um salve do Norte do Brasil 💚
patiently waiting for someone to ask me what the blues is, so i can put this one on the stereo
If you can’t hear Dan Auerbach’s guitar playing on the solo are you a fan?
I feel it
Looking forward to playing the new release on WTJU FM.
thanks for the support Robin!
Nice!
How the hell are ya’ll finding all these amazing musicians all the time?
go to mississippi. it's like an enormous door opens and you then see everything. people will direct you. clarksdale is a good place to start.
Allan Lee from Electric Cat Shake Records played a gig not too long ago and someone suggested the Black Keys and I was like hell no I listen to Deicide and Burzum before I play all my blues in vain.
They don't know their schoolin cuz it's all coming from Page/Hendrix and from that further back to Estes/Elmore. The Duck is about as badass as Mr.Crump.
By the time that electric comes in ... So subtle, and understated ... anyone who likes this roots blues is mezmerized. I wound up curious, watching the vid, to find the player, and see what kind of weathered stratocastor or maybe SG, it was.
Uauuu 👏👏👏
Junior Kimbrough meets Honeyboy Edwards with a dash of James Blood Ulmer? 5*!
Dan Auerbach out there acting like Alan Lomax
Keep on keeping on cat's
Check out Leo Bud Welch's last album from 2019 produced by Dan Auerbach at Easy Eye also. Great stuff. And Mr. Robert Finley's final album, "Goin' Platinum", another Dan & Easy Eye production of truly spicy and authentic blues. Then there's also the Dr. John album "Lockdown" from a few years ago Dan produced...
great
Nice
Well done guys - a perfect marriage of new and old and I'm loving it. I'm just writing my review for British blues mag and if I can find your e-mail address I'll send you a copy. Great stuff!
