This was one of the most clear, concise, informative, respectful, and well-prepared briefings I've ever seen in any industry. It's rare to see someone confidently explain specific teams responsible for investigations or cleanup, come prepared with detailed answers to every question, and repeat the questions when audience members don't have a microphone for questions. Even patiently listening to a very long and confused first question. Chair Homendy does her job well.

The NTSB does important work for all of us. As a retired locomotive engineer, the Board has my thanks and respect.

I appreciate Chair Homendy's repeating the questions from the audience since there is no microphone in the audience.

Listening to her facilitating the 16 hour Boeing hearing last week, she really does a great job looking out for the audience and listeners to keep the NTSB transparent.

Does Ms Homendy ever get to sleep in her own bed? Bless her, I’m fairly certain she is everywhere.

This fine crew of investigators need to head over to the FMCSA and they need to ask them why or who is someone letting these Illegals get a cdl.. How can you let someone get a license if you can't read or write English.

Another tailgating trucker. Needing1 vehicle length for every 10 miles an hour, minimum following distance.
Another trucker in a much longer and heavier, following too closely and apparently in a high-speed lane.
Another trucker operating a vehicle that’s much larger and heavier, following too closely, apparently in a high-speed lane, apparently carrying hazardous materials.
Another trucker in a huge vehicle, following to oclosely carrying hazardous materials, and apparently in the high-speed lane, causing an accident.
Another trucker tailgating, A trucker driving a truck, hauling hazardous materials, following too closely and sailing to stop, in a much larger vehicle, causing an accident, harming normal people in normal cars, spilling hazmat everywhere.
Anybody see a pattern going on here very little to do with a Toyota. Or a toll plaza. Or a highway interstate.
It’s truckers. They’re paid by the mile, and if they actually follow traffic laws, they would make half as much. It may be time to limit their salaries to 50% of what they get paid while endangering others for more mileage in a quicker time.
They can pick up extra hours delivering pizzas in normal size vehicles. Better yet on electric bicycles. As long as it doesn’t eat into their rest hours.
If you want 80k a year to kill people and break things, join the army and make rank.
But don’t F up because they will put you in jail there.
You could give the safety briefing on speed limits in a minimum 10 vehicle length following distance, in perfect conditions.

1st. 1 length for every 10 mph is literally an impossibility given that there isn't 1 single vehicle that wouldn't move into that space... Trucks would eventually be forced to travel in reverse...
2nd. Following all laws would cut our pay by 50%.. Melodramatic much???
3rd. We should have our pay cut by 50%..... Truck drivers pay has decreased by about 50% since the 70's.. There is no other branch of employment that has suffered anywhere near this degree of money loss..
Modern "safety" regs are having their intended effects... More accidents.. They're doing this on purpose to replace drivers with computers.... No; I'm not joking... It's on purpose...
After the introduction of ELDs; accidents involving trucks have gone up, not down... Electronic Logging Devises are unforgiving.. They don't care that you had a good portion of your day wiped out by accidents, traffic & construction... It also doesn't care that when you made it near your area of shutdown that there isn't a single place to park; even when we prepaid for a parking spot...
You are hating on every single truck driver on the road for the faults of the few; and the faults of the D.O.T... I get you're anger.. I see the bad truckers on the roads myself. The lack of decent paying jobs in the U.S ( due to NAFTA). are pushing unsuited candidates to pursue trucking..
You should really get some facts before making such judgements... And that wisdom should apply to any subject you're thinking about..
