Random? The final boss speaks both Japanese and English in the jap dub. It's obviously the jap VA speaking English because when he speaks Japanese he's menacing and deep but he's struggling with every English word. But I can commend the effort to really show off the nature of hawaiins who know more languages because of mixed population and tourism
The Engrish is actually pretty endeering, but i find it funny that their accents are heavier than some Japanese I met who spoke English in Japan (granted I think they have the advantage of study abroad)
yeah i definitely think it's not super fair to compare the two, i'm sure these VAs only knew very limited english at most if they even did before and learned these lines just for their roles, so it makes sense they wouldn't sound as natural as other japanese people who study abroad

Even without Yong’s awful performance I would still prefer the Jap dub, solely for the fact that you get scenes where English and Japanese are spoken in the same conversation. It makes for better immersion.

In substories they can communicate with anyone, but in the canon main storyline they can only speak Japanese and don’t understand what’s happening when English is being spoken. I think Kiryu understands a little better than Ichi though.
Excuse me. Kasuga went to vocational school and knows that Marie Antoinette's mother was named Maria Theresa. His classmates were so happy that he passed that test, they surrounded him and tossed him into the air multiple times. Of course he knows English.

That means either everyone we meet either has Japanese heritage or learned the language (which is possible albeit unlikely) or everyone got made Japanese for simplicity’s sake to remove the need to explain every substory not having a translator present. Some of them make sense since the people we speak to have a good chance of knowing Japanese, but when the times come that we speak to white tourists, there’s clearly something funky.
There's only few people in main story couldn't speak Japanese, everyone else seems to magically know Japanese as if it's their second language or something.
Now if only someone could mod out Yongyea's shitty voice work from the English track... I hate that I love everyone else in the dub and then there's this guy shitting up every scene he's in. I just want him out of it; they could replace it with Takaya Kuroda's voice lines instead.

The worst part about infinite wealth is how predictable it is, I figured out eiji was the vtuber before I even played it and figured out the plot the second Bryce appeared. These games fall without any action based combat because that’s what got people into it, if sega genuinely couldn’t come up with an idea how to incorporate a party into action based combat, and repeats side quests every game (there’s like 8 actual unique side quests the rest of them are copies), can’t create a story without it being predictable. Then they need to give it up, when Kiryu dies I’m done with yakuza games unless they’re action based
