I wanted to say in my 2007 tundra SR5 double cab. Had two cigarette lighters the one on The driver side had that white connector so it actually is plug and play it required no cutting. Just an FYI for the '07 and up
wait, what? I just tapped into the 120 V but you're telling me I could've saved myself the hassle? I have a 2010. the connections on my USB look liked one square and one circle. it came with an adapter harness to cut into a power source, so that's what I did but you're saying I could've unplugged the cig lighter on the left and used that to connect it? but then that cig lighter is no longer active, right? and are you referring to the left one on that center console or is there a different one left of the steering wheel?
Just picked this up and followed your steps. Wish was plug in play on 14 Tundra, but stripped the wires, spliced the 3 negatives and 3 positives together and it works great
Love the video. This was done FOR me by a shop years ago. Ive since moved. The one cllena end had a fuse. It must of burnt out. I changed the other portion other day and its still doesnt work. Unsure where to find the other wire/where the other half this cllena pirt was connected to
I purchased this exact outlet, not noticing the red light come on, and it surely doesn’t charge any faster than my factory outlets in my truck. What did I do wrong?
im gonna give a shout out to late model tech because he spliced his wires the old fashioned way and for those of us who are scared to cut; I used quick splices, you have to make sure to buy the correct gauge ones, as I found out trying to splice a 20 g wire with an 18-14 g quick splice. yeah, that was dumb.
Anyone have any problems with this draining your battery? I followed all the steps but I tapped into my left 12v socket power instead of using snow caps. It works great but woke up this morning to a dead battery. No other electronics were on. What did I do wrong?
Ordered the first one in the link. Same size and box but it’s way bigger. I don’t think they got the right one in the box. Sucks I missed the return date too. I think I’m going to order another and cross my fingers this time.

I have a 2008 Tundra Crewmax and i had two lighters as well. So the driver side lighter will have the white connector to plug and play.
I got a 07 crew max sr5 gonna see if I can do it without the cutting
Any recommendations for the same charger type but also has the newer USB-C and USB-A ports?

I just finished installing one of these today, and it looks great. Mine, however, has the voltage meter, but it isn't accurate and is off by -0.6v.
🤘
You make quick work of that brother my usb be in my 17 tundra limited goes in and out too nice job thank you👊🏻
Why did you splice wires instead of using the pig tail leads that plug into the cigarette lighter socket?
Noice 😎 definitely gonna do this to the 2013 RAV4

Yeah man! I always splice or pin if I can. As an aviation technician I get picky lol. It just makes me feel better
Is the same cutting/splicing the same for Sequoia I assume?
So did what did you have to unplug and then plug back in once you stripped the wires?
Excelente, lo voy a poner en mi tundra 2011,gracias por el video!!
Can you tie this into an upgraded stereo so that the stereo has access to this?

So you tied into the existing cigarette lighter port cable? So you can’t use that anymore correct ?
No, it still works.

I'm so sorry
@@Donnythelatemodeltech It’s ok not your fault
You could order this again and return the first one you purchased when you receive the new one if that makes sense
The cigarette light is still usable after this upgrade?
Yes
Says it's no longer available on the link you provided, FYI.
Thanks, its probably sold out. It will be back
How about a 389 Peterbilt?
Why not.
Thanks for sharing. But does it work on a 2007 FJ Cruiser...?
Do you have to disconnect your battery?
Nope
@@Donnythelatemodeltech I got lucky, mine was actually plug & play. 2007 4Runner
